This video debunks two common stereotypes about Switzerland: first, that everyone lives wealthyly, when in reality many Swiss people live paycheck to paycheck despite the country's high average salary of 6,500-7,000 CHF, because costs for insurance, rent, and food are extremely expensive; second, that Switzerland, Germany, and Austria speak the same German, when Swiss German is actually a distinct language with approximately 15 dialects that Germans cannot understand, making it much harder to learn than standard German.

Swiss stereotypes that are simply not true..đ¨đAĂąadido:
My Swiss husband hates those stereotypes about Switzerland. So, let's start with the first one.
>> Yeah. That everybody thinks everybody in Switzerland is itch, which is definitely not true. A lot of people in Switzerland, they live paycheck to paycheck.
>> But isn't there like an average salary of like seven or 6 and a half thousand?
>> Yes. But this also consists, it's an average. So, it's also consisting a lot of people who earn a lot and a lot of people earning like maybe like four four and a half thousand. This is definitely not a good salary in Switzerland because insuranceances cost a lot, rent is expensive, food is expensive.
>> So just because maybe in another country 4 and a half thousand would be super much. It's not in Switzerland. You you need minimum I would say 6,000 to to have like a okay salary and be safe.
>> Okay. I didn't know that.
>> So and what's the second one?
>> That Switzerland, Germany, and Austria speak the same type of German which is definitely not zoo. Swiss German is a known language. For example, we understand Germans but Germans don't understand Swiss people and even inside Swiss German you have like 15 dialects and it's very special type of language.
I would say it's much harder to learn the normal German. So a lot of people say, "Oh, I learned now German but then they come to Switzerland and understand nothing." So there's a big difference between German and Swiss German.
>> Okay, interesting. If you would like to see more about Switzerland, please follow me um on all my social media and as well visit my website where I talk again more about Switzerland.
