Epstein victims speak out after names appear unredacted in files

[00:00:00]Palm Beach County more than 20 years ago that the survivors of Jeffrey Epstein's horrific crimes were first denied justice with devastating results.

[00:00:11]>> I woke up one day with my name mentioned over 500 times.

[00:00:24]While the rich and powerful remain protected by reduction, my name was exposed to the world. Now reporters from across the globe contact me. I cannot live without looking over my shoulder. I can only imagine the long-term impact this mistake will have on my life.

[00:00:42]>> The conduct was organized, repeated, and devastating. Yet, instead of a prosecution that matched the scale of the harm, what followed was a secret agreement, as we know, that minimized the abuse and insulted the children that had been abused.

[00:01:00]>> Now, as we know, Jeffrey Epstein was later re uh arrested in 2019 on their crimes and then later uh just a few months later, that is when he was found dead in his jail cell. So, there are some goals here at this hearing to allow these victims to be heard, but also they are saying they would like to strengthen a federal law, uh, a crime victim federal law to make sure that deals like that don't happen again. But they're also moving forward wanting more of these files released. They would like to see the former attorney general, Pam Bondi, testify about the release of those files.
