Weather forecasting involves analyzing temperature trends, humidity levels, and atmospheric pressure systems to predict future conditions; in this case, high pressure systems bring fair weather with low dew points indicating dry air, while coastal areas experience cooler temperatures due to sea breeze effects, and warm periods are expected to continue through mid-week before cooler conditions return.

WPRI 12 Weather Now 6/2/26 Warmer Next Several DaysAdded:
Now, Pinpoint Weather 12 finally warmed up a bit today, Tony.
>> Yeah, Mike and Shannon, 74 degrees, 10 degrees better than yesterday and getting even warmer next several days.
It'll really start to feel like summer around here, especially come late week.
In the meantime, some extra clouds the last several hours, but it's still uh comfortable this late afternoon and early evening. Take a look. We'll head down to Block Island. Beautiful picture here. Just Well, the flag barely moving, but there's been a gentle kind of a southerly breeze on the island, and you've got these thin clouds causing the sunshine. You can see it right there to be a little opaque. So, it's kind of a partly cloudy sky, but otherwise looking pretty good in Lincoln. A similar situation. Clouds, a little bit of partial sunshine coming through the cloud covering. Temperatures pleasant at about 72. Still looking at lower 70s across the interior at this hour and you can clearly see the cooler air that's coming off the ocean courtesy of the sea breeze. South shore between about 63 and 65. New Bedford now is quiet and dry at 65. Now, cool tonight, just not nearly as chilly as the last couple of nights and much warmer next several days.
Tomorrow through at least Saturday with the warmest of the weather being Thursday, Friday, and on into Saturday.
We'll stay dry now through Saturday.
We'll bring in extra clouds and unfortunately some scattered showers and cooler temperatures. That would be for Sunday. So, we're up to about well, close to 80 tomorrow afternoon, looking at mid-80s on Thursday, mid to upper 80s both Friday and Saturday. Both of these days, Friday and Saturday, some interior locations may uh get close to 90 and then that cool down back to the mid-70s on Sunday. That'll be courtesy of clouds and some scattered showers. Just these thin clouds overhead right now causing the sunshine to be a little well, rather filtered, but otherwise comfortable.
High pressure fair weather system building in and will keep things quiet over the next several days. The dew points are low. The lower the number, the drier the air. We've shaded that dry air in this kind of a light brown color.
So, as nice as that, you know, we'll get to 80 tomorrow, but it won't come with any kind of humidity or mugginess. The higher humidity shaded in green is out across the deep south. So, we're going to keep comfortable air over the next several days, even though it does warm up. Let's switch over into the future, take you through the evening and overnight. Notice how the skies clear out by 10:00, 11:00. Here we are tomorrow morning at about 8:00 a.m.
Sunshine is already in the 60s and lower 70s, and warming up nicely to the upper 70s to lower 80s tomorrow afternoon.
Just a beautiful A+ day. Around this time tomorrow evening, we are clear, temperatures settle back into the 70s.
Tomorrow night looks good. Move ahead to Thursday, more sunshine, even warmer afternoon high temperatures reaching the mid to upper 80s and 70s at the beaches.
I mean, the beaches are cooler each day, but each day the beach temperatures do warm up. Tomorrow morning 7:00 a.m. 58, by 11:00 a.m. we're at 75, sunshine into the afternoon hours. Temperatures upper 70s to lower 80s. And speaking of the beaches, you can see coastal temperatures tomorrow low 70s, whereas inland locations the lower 80s, but a lot of sunshine at the beach. You definitely need the sunscreen with an air temperature at 73. All right, 7-day forecast Thursday much warmer in the middle 80s, upper 80s both Friday and Saturday. Some spots could get close to 90. I don't anticipate any rain during the daytime on Saturday. Later Saturday night, the chance of a shower. Scattered showers and cooler weather clearly on Sunday. Temps on Sunday in the mid-70s, but each day getting warmer and warmer, so the feel of summer on the way. Very nice. All right, Tony, thanks for coming up.
