FLOOD WATCH in effect through Memorial Day

[00:00:05]I know at night it's very hard to see such a thing, you know, areas where there's high water, but my goodness, I I I feel like if you're from here, you kind of know those typical spots. Yeah.

[00:00:16]Um and when it's pouring, I mean, you really want to stay away from those areas. Uh yeah, we got some rain out yesterday morning, also saw some uh storms yesterday evening. This all came before midnight. Uh since then, it has been pretty quiet. I'm not expecting much rain during the day today. Could see a few sprinkles or an isolated shower this morning, that's it.

[00:00:37]This afternoon, with the daytime heating, there could be an isolated shower or thunderstorm. Going into the evening, I do have a 30% storm chance.

[00:00:47]Showers and storms, they will be increasing in coverage as we kick off the weekend. Yeah, tomorrow it does look uh pretty wet, but it won't be wet the entire day. Flooding possible with those thunderstorms, and even more rain chances next week. Not so much though Memorial Day Monday. Flood watch for these counties. This is where flooding is possible. Could see another 2 to 4 inches of rain in these areas with isolated amounts upwards of uh 6 inches.

[00:01:18]So, you want to stay away from those areas that typically flood, uh creeks, streams, under bridges, and overpasses, especially downtown. Right now, it is a mostly cloudy to cloudy again, not much rain, but as you can see here on radar, there's just a shower that's moving towards uh western Kerr County. Few sprinkles down towards the southwest.

[00:01:38]Could see areas of mist or sprinkles here in San Antonio. Otherwise, it is a mostly cloudy. Not quite as active as yesterday morning here in South Central Texas and in South Texas, it is a lot quieter. Uh there is rain though outside of the state, Oklahoma, Kansas, over towards Mississippi, Tennessee, seeing scattered showers and storms there.

[00:01:56]There's another feature that's helping to produce rain this morning from South Dakota to Nebraska into Iowa. In terms of severe weather today, it's around the Panhandle where there's a level two severe weather risk. Storms there later today could produce high winds, hail, and across portions of the deep South and at the Tennessee Valley, that's a level one severe storm risk. The active pattern continues because we still have that fetch of moisture coming in from the Pacific plus lots of moisture at the surface from the Gulf. We will see a series of upper-level disturbances that will keep things pretty active here as well. This afternoon, we will see a mix of sun and clouds. Again, with the heating of the day after 3:00 p.m., there could be a stray shower or thunderstorm. If you are going out this evening to watch the game, just keep an eye on radar. Have that 4-Zone Weather App. While most of the area most of the evening will be dry, there could be a couple of showers or thunderstorms.

[00:02:47]First off, after 6:00 p.m., watch right along the border. Closer to 7:00 8:00 p.m., maybe a couple thunderstorms in the Hill Country, and one or two of those could get towards uh the north side of San Antonio. Yeah, near The Rock as we get closer to 9:00 10:00 11:00 p.m. Tomorrow morning, we are looking at cloudy skies, and then it does look like it gets more active tomorrow afternoon into tomorrow night. So, again, it's not going to be wet to the entire day tomorrow. Uh and then as we go into tomorrow night into Sunday, it looks like some heavy downpours east of I-35 into the eastern zone and near the coast. The rain chance is ahead. So, 70% tomorrow, 30% Sunday, and then 20% Memorial Day Monday. The rest of next week, well, rain chances pick back up by next Wednesday.
