[00:00:19]Kenny wants to express his deepest sympathy for the part that he played in the death of Matthew Perry. Mr. Perry was a man, a friend, his boss, someone who he had the deepest affection for.

[00:00:34]He's been devastated since his death and he and he continues to be devastated.

[00:00:40]Uh I do want to emphasize that Kenny at all times acted at the direction of Mr. Perry, obtained ketamine at the direction of Mr. Perry Mr. Perry, administered ketamine to Mr. Perry at his direction.

[00:01:04]And as his employee, Kenny wishes he could have had the strength to push back and say, "No."

[00:01:13]And for that, he'll ever be Well, he'll always be uh uh uh remorseful.

[00:01:22]Uh I do want to say that Kenny is not the only person here that um that partook in this tragic event.

[00:01:33]Um Mr. Perry had agency here. Kenny could have said, "No."

[00:01:41]And Mr. Perry could have said, "No."

[00:01:45]And Mr. Perry's loved ones could have been there to say, "No."

[00:01:50]and help him.

[00:01:51]So, to the extent that all the fault and the blame falls on Mr. Iwamasa, who in our opinion is on the low end of the totem pole.

[00:02:01]The only defendant in this case who has no financial interest in doing what his boss says.

[00:02:10]We believe that's an unfair narrative.

[00:02:21]>> Unfortunately >> Uh uh assessment is that the uh judge did not uh impose a an enhancement that the government sought uh which was uh uh unfounded.

[00:02:39]Uh the judge said she appreciated the mitigating circumstances in the case uh but we we feel that the sentence um uh didn't reflect those substantial mitigating circumstances. The power dynamic here was disproportionate. One person had the power and one person had no power.

[00:03:17]>> I wanted Danny to be well aware that we all knew him, that we saw him.

[00:03:23]And that we knew him and that we that he had a a responsibility which he had been given by all of us when he went to work directly with Matthew as opposed to the organization or anything like that.

[00:03:37]That what happens if Matthew gets gets any trouble with drugs wrong.

[00:03:45]Call his business manager, you call his publicist, you call his agent, you call me, you call his mother, he called his stepmother, he called his father.

[00:03:56]He had us all on speed dial.

[00:03:58]He had He promised to He could have called us when there was any problem.

[00:04:02]His job would have been saved. Money would have been saved. Instead, he controlled him by the use of ketamine. In the aftermath, he was dead.

[00:04:12]He demanded money from the organization.

[00:04:14]He wanted 3 years severance.

[00:04:16]He He wanted more money after that. He threatened to sue. He was He was not some sort of poor underprivileged guy who was taking advantage of my fallen man.

[00:04:26]Matthew was a sweet, lovely, funny man who has never fired fired a person in his life.

[00:04:33]>> Very good. If you were able to speak to him and you were able to say, um, you know, Matthew deserves to live, you don't. Can you speak to that a little bit, please?

[00:04:41]>> Yes, Matthew did. Matthew was afraid of that. Why do you think he tried so hard to get sober? Why he went up and down like that? He wanted to live.

[00:04:50]He didn't want to die. And this guy facilitated his death, which he was afraid to die, you know? And everybody is. Matthew deserved to live.

[00:04:59]He wanted to go out on the road and help people.

[00:05:04]That's what his goal was.

[00:05:06]And he couldn't because of him.

[00:05:07]>> On the substance?

[00:05:09]>> You get to You want to get it behind you. It doesn't change the fact that we've lost him, that he's dead.

[00:05:15]And that my life is broken. It makes me very sad.
