Every type of shark explained in 5 min !!Added:
Tiger shark. The tiger shark is known for the dark vertical stripes along its body, which resemble the markings of a tiger, especially when the shark is young. It is commonly found in warm tropical waters, and is especially common around island coastlines. Tiger sharks are famous for having one of the broadest diets of any shark species.
They eat fish, turtles, seabirds, and sometimes even objects that are not food at all. Because of their flexible diet and wide range, they are one of the most adaptable sharks in the ocean.
Hammerhead shark. The hammerhead shark is instantly recognizable because of its wide flattened head shaped like a hammer. This unusual structure called a sephilof foil helps the shark detect electrical signals from prey hidden in the sand below. Hammerheads are found in warm oce and often travel in schools when they are young. As they grow older, many species become more solitary. Their unique head shape also gives them excellent vision and maneuverability when hunting fish and rays along the ocean floor. The bull shark is a powerful stocky shark known for its unusual ability to live in both salt water and fresh water. It often swims up rivers and has even been found far inland in places like the Mississippi River and the Amazon. Bull sharks prefer warm, shallow coastal waters where people often swim, which is why they are sometimes involved in shark encounters.
Their bodies are built for strength rather than speed, allowing them to move through murky water and tight spaces.
This ability to survive in rivers gives them access to environments that most sharks cannot enter. Thresher shark. The thresher shark is best known for its extremely long tail, which can be as long as the rest of its body. This tail is not just for swimming. It is also used as a hunting tool. When a thresher shark finds a school of fish, it swings its tail like a whip to stun multiple fish at once.
Thresher sharks usually live in deeper offshore waters and spend much of their time hunting smaller fish. Their unusual hunting method makes them one of the most distinctive sharks in the ocean.
Angel shark. The angel shark has a body shape that looks more like a ray than a typical shark. Its flattened body allows it to lie hidden on the seafloor while waiting for prey to pass by. When a fish swims too close, the angel shark strikes upward with surprising speed. These sharks are commonly found along sandy or muddy ocean bottoms. Their camouflage and ambush hunting style make them perfectly adapted to life on the seabed.
Short fin macco shark. The short fin makco shark is considered the fastest shark in the ocean. It can swim at speeds of over 70 kmh when chasing prey.
Macos live in open ocean waters and are built like torpedoes with smooth bodies and longtails designed for speed. They mainly hunt fasting fish such as tuna and swordfish. Their speed and agility make them one of the most powerful hunters in the pelagic ocean environment.
Great white shark. The great white shark is one of the most recognizable predators in the ocean. It lives in coastal waters across the world, especially in cooler seas near places like South Africa, Australia, and California. Its powerful body, rows of serrated teeth, and strong sense of smell make it a highly effective hunter.
Great whites mainly feed on fish, seals, and sea lions, often attacking from below with incredible speed. One of the most impressive things about the great white shark is its hunting ability. It can detect tiny electrical signals produced by animals in the water using special organs around its snout called ampuli of Laureni.
This allows it to find prey even when visibility is poor. Another interesting fact is their size and strength. Adult great white sharks can grow over 6 m long and weigh more than 2 tons. Their bite force is among the strongest of any fish in the ocean. Despite their reputation, great whites do not see humans as natural prey. Most encounters happen because the shark is investigating something unfamiliar in its territory.
Greenland shark. The Greenland shark lives in the cold waters of the North Atlantic and Arctic Ocean. It moves slowly and spends much of its life in deep, dark environments where temperatures are close to freezing.
Because of the extreme cold, the shark's body works at a very slow pace, which is one reason it grows and ages so gradually.
These sharks are usually found hundreds of meters below the surface, quietly cruising through the dark waters where very few other large predators live.
What makes this shark truly remarkable is its lifespan. Scientists believe some individuals can live for more than 300 years, making them one of the longest living vertebrates on the planet.
Researchers discovered this by studying the tissues in their eyes, which grow very slowly over time. This means that some Greenland sharks alive today may have been born before many modern countries even existed. Thanks for watching.
