Many of those stars have planets, [music] and some of those planets should be capable of supporting life. Statistically, the universe should be full of civilizations. So, why [music] haven't we seen any evidence? One possibility is that intelligent life is incredibly rare. Another is that advanced civilizations destroy themselves before they can explore space. [music] And the most unsettling idea? They're already out there, but for reasons we don't understand, they're staying silent.
