Water distillation purifies water by heating it to produce vapor, which leaves behind minerals, salts, sediments, and impurities; the vapor then travels through a cooling coil where it condenses back into liquid water, resulting in distilled water that is nearly free of dissolved contaminants while all impurities remain trapped in the original heating chamber.

This is how water distillation separates minerals and impurities using evaporation and condensation.Añadido:
As water starts boiling inside the distiller, minerals, salts, sediments, and many impurities cannot evaporate and remain trapped inside the heated chamber.
As temperature increases, more vapor begins accumulating in the upper section of the system. The only thing that actually rises is water vapor.
That hot vapor slowly travels through the metal pipe and then enters the cooling coil surrounded by cold water.
This is one of the most important parts of the process because the sudden temperature change forces the vapor to condense again. At that moment, the vapor turns back into liquid water, but now transformed into distilled water, much purer and nearly free of dissolved minerals, sediments, and many contaminants originally present in the raw water. That is why at the end of the process, all dirt, salts, metals, and residues remain trapped inside the original heating chamber.
In many cases, residue buildup can even be seen attached to the internal walls of the container.
