#50stackchallenge8 #19 and #20Added:
Hi everybody. It's Amy at CraftyCat. Uh I am back for the #50 stack challenge eight. This is the eighth one of these um challenges. This is a 25week prompt assignment challenge. Each week I draw two prompts out of my bag. All the prompts are in the bag from the beginning of the challenge. And then the idea is to make one piece of ephmera for each of the prompts. So, at the end of 25 weeks, you should have a stack of 50 pieces of ephemera. However, like I use mine during um the challenge, so I usually don't end up with a stack at the end. But that's just how the whole thing started was with a stack of uh guest checks. So, this time the prompts were provided by you lovely people, my subscribers. And so, that's why it's the sub subscribers prompts. So, uh, for example, for how we do this, last week I drew number 17 was cactus, and so I've put it in a journal already, but um, I can show it to you. That's if I can find it. Um, we did the little cactus card and the cactus, and that was a freebie.
So, go to last week's video if you didn't get the cactus and you want them.
They are there in the description box.
So that just pops in there. And then um number 18 was dangle. So I made this dangle which you just could glue at the top of a page. And then the the dangly part obviously is just some a piece of an old tape measure, a piece of fabric, a little piece of Tim Holtz ephmera, and then I also did another dangle since they're pretty quick.
Um, I did this one as well and it's already in a journal. So that is what we did last week. So this week we are on 19 and 20. So number 19 is old or vintage by Marsha. So old vintage. However you want to interpret that, you may do so. So, that one's pretty easy cuz that's kind of what we all usually usually do kind of anyways.
So, it should be easy to do that one.
I'm laughing because the last few weeks we've had a few that we've all struggled with.
So, yeah, it's that one's a good one.
Uh, vintage car from Tracy. So, I know that Tim Holtz has some vintage cars in one of his ephemera packs, but you can, you know, find a picture of an old car or whatever, wherever you can find it.
So, vintage car. So, we have old vintage. So, you could use um like vintage papers or old papers. Um and then this one, vintage car for 20. And again, interpret it how you want. Use whatever bases you want. Um just have fun with it. And I'm going to get some things together. I will be right back.
Okay, I am back. So, the first one we will work on is old vintage.
So, I have this vintage piece of it's um sort of like little ledger book paper, but I'm going to turn it this way and we're going to decorate it up. It measures um it measures a little too much. So, we're going to have to take some of this off. How about we just cut off the bottom little extra down there?
I just want to make sure it'll fit on a page. It would be a good uh you know bellyb band sort of pocket that you could um put sort of in the middle of a page because it's almost 5 in.
Yeah, that'll work. That will work. I probably would have worked with that on there, but now we won't have to worry about it being too tall. So, um, yeah, that's what that is. That's going to be my base. I am going to put some other paper on the back just to strengthen it.
So, we need I didn't get that part.
Sorry, my husband's using the vacuum in the garage, of course. Hold on just a second. Okay, I'm back. I got my paper.
And yeah, it's funny because I've been up here for like over an hour prepping and have hardly heard anything, you know.
I know you guys probably didn't really hear that, but it's just funny. It just makes me laugh because he's got it on again, but I unplugged it from the wall up here. It's a central vacuum, so it like um you know, you can hear the suction through the tubes of it. And I have one up in the craft room because of the um printer, the laser cutter. So, yeah.
And I was using it this morning, so it was all plugged in.
He's working to get the uh garage back to some semblance of order.
I think we've pretty much got most of the things in the house. I have one more thing I have to go through and get rid of stuff that I don't want and whatever.
But I think I want these holes, but I don't have a hole punch that will punch them that big. So, I think I'm just going to It'll just have to be what it is, basically. Maybe when I glue it onto the page, I'll glue this whole section down.
That way, it won't I won't have to worry about ripping those holes. And then we need to cut around these because they're rounded corners.
So, how are you guys doing? Sorry, I just jumped right in like I do. Get excited and just go for it. I hope you guys are doing good.
I'm doing pretty good. It's a nice sunny day. Makes me happy.
I don't need to ink that. I keep forgetting. It's just I keep thinking it's going to be like I need to make it so you can write on the back. It's not that at all. It just needs some strength because this is almost like a like a printer paper weight, you know, copy paper weight. Maybe just a scoch heavier, but I don't, you know, want to go through making it and then have it just tear for somebody. I have no idea what this this will go into, but we'll find something. Usually these type of journals that have like old vintagey things are pretty easy. I I make quite a few of those. So I don't think it'll be a problem. But at the moment I don't have a specific plan for it.
I need to say hugs and blessings. Hugs and blessings to Pat, Barbara, Wendy, Katrina, and Teresa. Thank you guys so much for watching. Thank you for always leaving kind comments.
and welcome to new subscribers and welcome back to the rest of you who've been with me for long time, short time, whatever the time. I really appreciate all of you and I would love it if you could see if my like button is working.

comment. I do answer my comments.
Like to chitchat back.
Okay.
So, what I have for old or vintage is from Marca herself because she sent me this. Isn't this the coolest envelope?
It's so skinny.
I love that. And then the um stamp fell off of it, but I have it, so we're good.
Or a stamp that was right in the same pile. So, I'm assuming it's this one.
And I'm going to do a little little crooked, but I'm going to put it on here as a pocket. Oh, and I didn't figure out what I was going to put inside of it. H well, I guess that'll come with time, huh?
Didn't think that all the way through.
But I also want to use a little bit of this old lace.
And that's what it's called is old lace in my Etsy shop just because it's I mean it's old looking old looking lace.
Just tear this kind of cattywampus.
I don't want to cover up the hole.
Maybe about there, I think. And this can go over here. And it can have something in it. A tag of some kind, which is fun.
And then when you put it on the page, I'll glue the top down. like I said, the bottom and then something can slide all the way through or whatever. But this is nice and uh grungy all on its own. I don't know if you can see, but it is definitely grungy. So, that's fun.
Oh, this side needs to be torn. Let's do it.
Yeah. having you guys see this. We'll be done with graduation and all that, but I am about a week ahead trying to trying. I'm trying.
I might still have a few days or a day I miss next week and then I after that I should be back to normal.
I just I don't know yet.
Going to try not to miss any next week.
But or actually it's this week that we are in right now for you guys, not for me.
It's just been a little crazy.
I will be happy to have things back to what I consider normal, which also is boring, but I love that.
And here's a little piece of a letter that we'll put here. I just like to cover the address. You don't have to cuz, you know, the people aren't there anymore, but I like to cover it.
Plus, it's gives it a little something extra.
This is a very fragile piece of paper. Oh, I guess I should glue this down first, huh? Yeah, that would probably be smart. Look at the back of this envelope, too, though.
I mean, it's How do you even decide what to do? I know, but it was such a perfect little skinny envelope that I wanted it on here.
So, thank you, Marca. These are very cool envelopes you sent me.
Love it.
I do love an old envelope, that's for sure.
These ones are like or this particular one is extra cool cuz it's so skinny. I didn't know they did them that thin. I feel like now they're much more standard size than what they were.
It's kind of like it used to be whatever you could fit a letter in is what they used, I guess. I don't know.
But it's very skinny.
Maybe different places had different different ones.
I got glue over the front of that, of course.
Just take the glue off. No, it's not these goo erasers or whatever you would call them. I got this one at the Dollar Tree, but you can get them on Amazon. They're a little bit smaller.
They're thinner and they're more narrow, but um I think they're called glue erasers that just doesn't want to come off of there. Usually it lifts it right up.
Maybe it was almost too wet or it's just really liking this old envelope or letter.
usually or maybe it just got way too much on there.
That is a possibility, but it lifted nicely regardless. And then this picture she also sent and it's got a fold like right it's torn. It's really kind of sad and I tried to read it and I can't. just says attachment something lens, but it's got the it's very cool. Very, very cool. So, I think I'm going to put that there.
Do I want other things? I also have this the definition of old from the dictionary. I thought that would be kind of fun.
I mean, not that she's old, but well, I guess technically I'll shush. I'll stop.
I might want like a flower or something else.
Don't know. I don't know. Put all this uh sort of pink and blue stuff in here to do that one journal and then I never took it out of here.
Maybe just a little color. I mean, you know, I'm going to ink it. That's definitely going to happen. But feel like I kind of need something more.
I didn't want to cover up all that background, but don't know. I don't That one's very large.
Could just put like one of these sort of up here. These um Tim Holtz I don't even know what they're called. Just little strips of decorative whatever decorative pieces.
Oh, the blue will be at the bottom though, huh?
I want it up at the top more.
wonder wander repeat on I don't know what I will put in that pocket.
There's a rose.
Kind of like these better.
Yeah, I like those better.
Sorry, I didn't figure all this part out yet. Put the blue Blue would be pretty with that. I like the pink.
Oh, this might be pretty with the envelope.
I guess I don't really need the whole thing because Well, you do see part of it, huh?
I think I just like this one better.
I like to see the date though. That's just kind of cool.
Think I like that.
Come here.
Let's go in here.
All right. Now we can put it together.
Oopsies. Well, that just adds to the grunge when you bend it.
Darn.
This just a little.
You guys getting ready for summer?
Anybody get garden stuff done? My husband bought tomato plants today to plant out, so that'll be nice.
Need to get that done. And I need to get some other flowers. I have some holly hawks we're going to plant because I love hummingbirds and the bees and all that coming to the yard.
So, got some holly hawks. I know they should have been planted already, but it's been just slightly insane here. So, I'm like, they'll be a little late going into the ground, but they'll be all right.
My sister uh had holly hawks at her house when she lived in California and um those big fat bumblebees would come to them and then they would fall asleep inside of the holly hawks. Oh my gosh, they're so cute.
The big fat bumbles.
They're just adorable.
Those are my favorite too of the bees is the big fat ones.
They're super chill.
For a while, I had bee balm growing out in my yard and they definitely loved that, too.
But there was no place to take a nap in that.
This has been so curved for so long.
It's like doesn't know how else to be.
Oopsie. Now I tore that corner off. H.
Just want it to stick all the way down.
Okay, this one I'm going to use some liquid glue because it's got that slickery back on it. I don't know that it matters, but I don't like to tempt fate with glue stick.
I was smart today. I opened all the windows upstairs while it was cool and then quickly shut them back before it got very warm and I turned on my my husband got me a light for my craft room that has a fan in it and turned that on today cuz yesterday I just wasn't totally paying attention, you know, and not used to it being quite so warm and it got real hot up here.
Got my blinds closed, which is a bummer. I like to keep them open because all that sunshine coming in is wonderful, but it just gets thick. It got thick.
So, we're staying pretty cool today.
It's nice inside.
We walked this morning though, husband and I. So, we got out while it was still a little cool.
It was beautiful.
Oh, if I put that on. Okay, I'm good. I just don't want to put it over the um definition of old.
Almost blew that.
That would have been sad days.
This one I kind of want straightish.
Yeah, I like that. I like it a lot.
Might add some stitching or a little piece of fabric. I don't know if I want anything else on there. Let me check. I needed My glue stick was done.
I wonder if a piece of this would work up here and just kind of stitch it. I don't really want to cover all that, but Well, I better not. You know what? When I put a tag in there, I can leave it up a little bit.
And sorry I didn't get stuff together for a tag. I wasn't even thinking of that.
Okay, so for old I have used lots of old bits and pieces.
All right, there's old. And then vintage car from Tracy. I have this car from Tim Holtz. These are the ones I was talking about. And I'm going to use a book page.
We're going to make a journaling card.
So, I have some of my uh I think this is from my abandoned kit. Just I cuz again, I'm still using up my scraps as much as possible to try to get rid of some of them. And this was in there. And I do have quite a few kits that have rusty stuff, but I'm pretty sure this is the abandoned kit or I don't know. I'll try to figure out what all I used and put it in the description box below so that you can find them if you're interested.
If you even want to Oh, this would be cute on that, huh? Do all the good you can. That's one I took off to do I think Friday's video and I never used it. So, but that is true cuz life goes by so fast.
I wish people would realize more.
Okay. Yeah, I like that on there.
Good. Good. Okay. Now, glue. Amy, focus.
There we got two half Well, that one that other glue stick was about gone. This one's half gone. Not sure how I did that, but I think I had one over by my sewing machine and forgot and opened another one.
14. Where are you? There's that rusty 14 on there. I want I'm going to come all the way to the bottom and then I might add a strip of something at the top.
Oh, I got a crocodile.
It's hard to tell because they're torn edges. Huh. Whoa. What do I want to put up at the top? Maybe some What's this? Oh, that would be cool.
Some of my tape measure stuff.
I do like this stuff. It's fun.
Okay.
Didn't quite get it uh very straight here.
What this has to do with my automobile, but it's fine.
I have an automobile and that's all that matters.
This stuff is very weird. It's almost like a canvas that they coated in a plasticky substance.
It's very um well, not very stiff, but it is kind of stiff, but kind of fabricy at the same time, if that's a thing. I don't know. But it's weird. Weird stuff.
But I love the numbers on it.
I like it.
And then from one of my I think this is from my deserted.
There's a page that has old license plates. And I took these pictures of these um license plates. Well, of the whole that whole kit is photos that I took of an old town near here. And these were hanging on the wall of one of the buildings.
They're so rusty, grungy, falling apart that I was like, "Oh, yeah. I need pictures of that."
I think it's a trailer one, but who's counting? Who is counting?
I don't love the way you see the stuff through the windows.
I don't really want to go up any higher.
So, I guess you're just going to see the edge of that through the window.
Oh well, I guess it's fine.
Yeah, it's a crazy old It used to be like a junk shop or a thrift shop or whatever you want to call it. And there was all kinds of stuff hanging on the walls on the outside. It was cool.
And really dusty shelves and stuff in the windows. And it was just cool.
And I need to ink our car.
Yeah, there's one of Tim Holtz um sets of stuff that has houses and cars and people. I don't know what it's called, but I was trying to find his black and white pieces the other day to see if they're still around on Amazon and I can find them. I'm sure you can get them somewhere, but I don't know. We can hardly get his stuff. I have to order everything cuz Hobby Lobby even quit carrying most of it. like they'll have just a very few things and that's it, which is a bummer.
And then I have these pieces. This is from my old stuff, I think.
I just thought it was a cool rusty piece. I don't even know what in the heck it is, but anyway. And then this says oldtimer.
We used to have a a there was a guy that drove an old car in the town I grew up in.
And his license plate said oldtimer.
And so I was like, that's kind of cool.
I've seen that before too on other old cars, license plates.
Yeah, this has nothing to do with cars, but don't matter.
Got my washi tape box that keeps falling down. Need to put the washi tape back in it. Put it away.
Okay, I'll just put glue.
I thought it would be fun to have a person peeking out one of the windows, but I was I couldn't find anything the right size, you know, like they were driving.
It's pretty tiny.
There was a bigger one in that kit, too, but it's like too big to put on a journaling card. It would be a very large journaling card.
I love old cars. I think they're so much better looking than new cars.
I've always thought that though.
Okay. And then we'll have to back this and um stitch around it. Do you have any words?
I'll have to think about what I want to put in the pocket of the other one. I didn't think of that.
So funny how you get like so focused on one aspect of it and don't think of all the other aspects or at least I have that problem. Maybe it's just a me thing.
It's very possible. I definitely have a squirreling problem for sure.
My brain squirrels away the day.
attention span of a net sometimes.
That's a fun one. I think it could be that corner does not want to stick over there.
Always got to misglue somewhere.
Might kind of trim the corners a little bit. They seem very very pointy.
I don't know if I can do it up here. I didn't even think of that.
We're going to find out. Oh, probably not. It's going to scissors. It's going to have to be.
Scissors barely want to do it.
Hopefully that's a little bit more.
There's a bubble.
Okay, I like it. That turned out good with the old timer on there.
More ink. I need to put a new pad on that thing.
Sad days. It's just crumbling all over my desk.
Good and grungy.
Okay.
So, vintage car.
That is what I have.
That's fun.
Super fun. And then old or vintage was this one. And that's 19 is old vintage and 20 is vintage car. So I hope you guys enjoy that. I think that'll be an easy one for everybody. I know we all had a bit of a struggle bus for a couple weeks. Just stuff that I you know a lot of times well there are junk journalers that do the um maybe they're more art journalers. I don't know. But like bright and colorful like whimsical is I do a lot of that.
But uh the pink bling that's the one that got me. I just didn't have pink blank.
So, but everybody struggled a little bit with that one. So, anyways, these two should be very easy. So, I hope you all enjoy and have a fantastic week and we'll chat soon. Love you. Bye.
