Removing ink from a vintage Baseball Card

[00:00:09]You know, so here's what I'm going to do. Step one is we're going to do a pre-soak because I am going to soak this card, but I'm going to like get it real uh wet. We'll do a pre-treat for an hour between the pads, okay? So I got to spray it off camera. It's a little hard to do on the camera.

[00:00:33]So we're going to go heavy.

[00:00:41]Same deal there.

[00:00:49]All right, officially 1 hour later.

[00:00:53]Also known as my kids are all asleep, so now I can kind of do some card stuff. So [music] we should have this very saturated, right?

[00:01:03]So I would really, really like to be able to get this uh this card cleaned up, but namely that uh ink off the back.

[00:01:19]So let's do this.

[00:01:20]So this is when I'm just going to go right into card spray here, you guys.

[00:01:24]And I'll probably fast forward this video. I'm going to leave it as one shot.

[00:01:29]All right, this is 5 minutes later after being transitioned in the full card spray.

[00:01:46]And I want to take care of those. So that's why I wanted you to see what I'm doing because it's going to be a lot of you're going to be doing some watching here. You see how I clipped off the sharp tip? So that I'm I'm going to be using this.

[00:01:58]I'm also going to be using my dental scaler and I'm going to be going after this.

[00:04:18]You know, so pretty darn good. Pretty cool. I love working on old cards like that and those spots right there you guys were like wax stains [music] too. So I just was tapping on those and you know, since we knew it was there, you know, I can still see a faint mark of it but you know, if you if you run into a fountain pen, you know, I think there's a high high likelihood that you can do a good job at removing them.
