[00:02:43]Its massive [music] canine teeth, used exclusively for fighting rather than eating, can grow up to 50 cm in [music] length. Scientists have measured bite forces exceeding weight of 1,800 lb per square inch. To understand [music] the destruction, compare it to a saltwater crocodile, which bites at roughly 3,700 [music] PSI.

[00:03:04]The crocodile's jaw is a narrow, precise instrument [music] built to grip and drag prey underwater to drown.

[00:03:10]A hippo's jaw, however, [music] is a blunt demolition weapon designed to shatter the bones and bodies of rival hippos. The hippo crushes, tears, and often returns multiple times [music] to finish what it started.
