The knife sharpening process involves progressively refining the blade through different grit levels (150, 320, 600, 1200) until a burr forms on the edge, which indicates the blade is ready for the next grit level; the burr is a small ridge of metal that feels sharp and will 'bite' when touched, signaling that the edge has been properly refined and is ready for further polishing.

An unyielding journey to self-sufficient sharpeningAñadido:
Yo yo, what's good, man? My Saturday's been good.
Running errands with the family.
Look, pretty good.
In between, I've been working on a handful of things here.
I got a 600 grit, a 320 grit, and a f 150 grit.
And about to put a 12 together real fast.
How YouTube doing? You got scammed by Amazon, you think? Oh no. How so? How so? Warn us. Danger. Will Robertson, let us know what to look out for. What happened?
And I'm sorry to hear it.
Oh man, sandpaper is really hard to slide into anything.
This will go perfect.
I was expecting a package. The picture showed on the package like an abandoned house. I think the driver is ditching the packages somewhere. Oh.
That would suck. I hope that's not the case. I hope it get back to you or you get your bread back.
We had that happen one time where they had a photo inside of somebody's garage and they were like, "We dropped it off."
I'm like, "Dude, that's not my house.
Took a picture of somebody's garage.
That is not my house."
So, I hope you get it back.
But those drivers, man, they they do a lot.
Those are some working people. I got to give them that.
You know, humans be human. And you know, I feel bad, man. That uh crazy Rob in Canada homemade 1970.
Um he sent out a package to me that hasn't gotten here.
And I haven't gotten any info on it. He hasn't either.
and he feels bad as anyone would.
He wants to send it out a replacement, but I want it. You know what I mean? And it's expensive to ship from country to country right now.
So, I hope I get it, but I don't I don't want him to go any further.
Look at me. I just made it about me.
This is just like me making it about me again.
All right, so these are working out pretty good. What I wanted was to get a full edge, you know, a good corner on each of them because I want to sharpen from here cuz there's going to be some advantages to having both of my hands able to clear and it's a little bit better.
And I can do this all the way up to this 1,200 and then I can move on to the wet stones from there.
And I think I can have some success.
Got a little water here with me to wet them up as I go. I'm going to let that one dry. It'll be dry in just a second.
But my big concern is here.
I want to get a good edge on this carver.
Um, thank you for uh hanging out. Please hit the like while you're here. It helps me a little bit.
But I want to give myself a nice edge, you know what I mean?
And I desperately want that.
And so I feel like the only way to do that is to be a little bit more mechanical about it.
Um, so I'm trying to figure out how to do that. And I think this gives me a little bit more freedom of movement, which I think will help with the accuracy.
This is not the right tool, but I don't have that one right now with me.
But this will do it.
Yeah.
Then we'll do the other side.
That might be a little bit of a ambitious bevel, but we'll see.
We will see. Also, I got this little thing from somewhere. It came with something.
I don't know if it'll help or not.
But we'll see. Find out till Gills.
So, while that's drying, I'll go ahead and set up this first run with the 150.
So, we're going to be pretty brutal at first with this thing and then we'll just work it out.
I could be a mathematician or an accountant. I certainly could not.
I certainly could not be engineer.
That might work.
Move that up.
That might work.
Edge, the tip.
Let's see if we want Put some tooth on it.
All right.
Let me get a uh a little rag down here so I don't look like I soiled myself when this water runs off.
We'll try this this way. See what we got.
We're going to trail the edge on this one.
We're already getting something. Looks like we missing a little bit at the back.
Try to make that adjustment.
Get a little more water on there.
I probably should put some gloves on before I start getting metal splinters in my hand again.
Those are fun to find.
Defense defense.
Protect yourself.
Wood chucker chucking wood. What up, man?
Scoo dooby and the bearded grooves.
All right, that was a freaking party.
That was a dag on party.
Ah, don't fall. I got you.
You fell anyway.
It's a magical journey and we're going on it together.
Hey, we cracked across the glass this time, y'all.
It's going to be bootleg from here on out.
Catastrophe strikes.
Well, that's just how my love for the gang goes.
I go horic, huh?
I don't know what I did with the knife now, though.
Let's find it.
So, put our towel over here.
This is what we were doing. It had started something.
Agent, what up?
Listen, Agent knows something about boxing.
You can follow You can follow his part, ladies. I promise.
Look the name.
Look at the name. Oh my god. That's good. That's a good start, right?
Wherever we go from there, I'm happy sort of.
But we going to keep cutting.
You got Keshan and Brian Norman Jr.
Yeah, I I would I would put light money on the upset for Keshan, but he probably gonna win. That's that's why it would be worth it cuz it's a long shot. Albbright is is definitely slept on.
But but the thing is usually if you beat somebody once, you just kind of got their number.
Usually the second time you beat him better.
So I'd agree with that.
Kean for the dove.
I'm going blade first here just cuz it feels a little bit better right now.
It's a new knife. I don't have a handle for it. Nothing.
Got a piece of heat treated steel.
And we got a glue up in a tire and a fan.
And we shall see. We're not going to get anywhere near that line this way.
I do feel better about this cut.
And this method of holding this blade does allow me to get two hands on it.
I'll at least try to get you up a little higher. I hope I don't drop you. Crush your dreams again soon as I say it.
West does it is cursed today.
That's a better view though.
And I'm just kidding about being cursed.
I am blessed. blessed this dude had ever been blessed because I've got you neighbor.
You're blessed with the powers of being the best woodworker who loves boxing.
AB.
Now, this 150 grit here is different than this other wet dry paper. This was me kind of giving it a shot, but this is dry wallpaper, which is not as tough. Look at that.
So, we're going to retire that block.
Start up with our 320.
This one I was a little excited about because I saw another knife dude. I don't even remember what his name was, but I subscribed and follow.
And he was sharpening something like this, but he was freehanding, but by being on this narrow piece, two hands on each side, he could make more adjustments. And I thought, that's what I should have been doing.
Right.
So, this time, uh oh, I got a little bump. That's not good. I'll avoid that.
This time, I'm going to just trail the edge and do my best to hold the angle.
That little bump right there. It's aggravating.
What's happening?
Sometimes it takes a little while for you to get a rhythm and then you kind of start to make an adjustment as you go and then you find a more effective or a more efficient way to do it. Hold it, whatever.
But ultimately just trying to be a machine trying to find best angle that you can hold and be a machine repeating the motion.
Everything I'm doing from this point is happening in my waist.
Everything else is stationary.
That's a decent start. remember and this is a heat treated blade now and we didn't quite put an edge on it because if we had before the heat treatment we make the edge uh brittle and easily breakable.
Excuse my sniffles. I had too much sugar today.
that and these allergies.
I like that I can clear the entire piece, right? I can start here and keep it and I can get my other hand so far I can hold from all the way down here.
And with a traditional from up top, I couldn't get that. So this is smart smart of me to steal from that guy who did it.
You can wisely steal it from me if you like.
The context, not the content.
It is.
We getting on this plate.
Edge on this plate.
Edge on this plate.
I'm also trying to do it where you get a decent look.
That what's happened.
It's nice that I can even work underneath this block. I can hold this down. My hand is underneath here clearing, but it lets me control much better.
I can just let go at the end or I can just stay on top of it. But Man, that is good.
It's like it's kind of like automotive work, right? Sometimes it's not complicated in the nuts and the bolts like what needs to come out. It's all the stuff in between and how to physically get in there, right? Because all that stuff wasn't in there when they put the part in.
So, it's it's like if you got a lift, you got a better chance. You know, if you got one of them bays, you can walk underneath the car, you got a better chance cuz you got more opportunity and more angle. This is feeling like a similar scenario.
Get a little bit more water on there.
Some cere.
And this is 320 grit automotive wet dry sandpaper on a block.
Speaking of which, our 1,200 down here dry. We should go ahead and put that together right fast before it's too late. There is a such thing. We might have crossed the threshold, but we'll give it a shot and see.
Nope. It did good.
We did good.
Push that in nice and tight. Nice and tight. Nice and tight corners. This is the 1200. This is the last one I think we're going to do this way.
Just put your hand in mine. Some Who else has that stuck in their head now?
I got you, babe.
I got you, babe.
Is that 1200? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Yeah.
back to this that I am doing right now.
Please pay attention.
I have my way by Frank Sinatra stuck in my head because that's what I David Allen walked out to. Oh yeah. Word.
Sound started playing in my head. First line you said I'm sorry I've infected the chat.
Isn't double dolloping legal? I don't know. Wes, how's your day going, buddy?
It's going good. Caleb, how's your day going, man? I'm here with my friends.
The kids are upstairs. Well, one of them, the other one's out there playing his music with the band at graduation for the senior class.
So, he's living his best life.
The girls have moved into an apartment together, two of them.
And we got to see it when we went down to Florida.
Went in to see the uh the younger daughter's uh room. She was at work. Her boyfriend was in there sleeping on the floor.
But good kid.
That's what growing up is all about.
But I'm grateful to be meeting, you know, new boyfriends and stuff while I'm still in fighting shape.
Quiet threats with the handshakes. How you doing?
I love sharpening this way. Oh my god.
What up, Mort? Who would you like to see in the Altuma fight next besides Usi?
Oh, I think I don't know, man.
I don't know. Them heavyweights been popping in and out out of nowhere.
I would watch a Dubois fight.
I wondered if he knows your skills.
Man, I'm only 40 with a 22 year old son and twoyear-old granddaughter.
Right on. Seriously, wouldn't you know it's finally finished? Um, what you're going to want to do is get a burr, right?
Keep going until you get a burr. If you don't get a burr, there's no point going any further. You got to keep going until you start seeing a burr develop on this edge.
And then after that, you move on to the next uh grit and you work it until you get a burr.
And that burr will feel like something sharp, right?
It'll feel like it'll bite. It It'll be a rough thing. It won't be a smooth cut, but it'll be sharp. It'll cut still.
So, it's got to be able to cut at each level.
And then you're refining the cut with each level.
But if it won't snag right, then it's just not ready. For instance, I don't know. Maybe that's not a thing.
Maybe that's not a thing with a glove.
Okay, I can feel that grabbing, right?
And it's probably shaving.
This feels smooth.
Doesn't even feel like a threat whatsoever.
So, you got to get it there.
Oops. You got to put your sheath in the right way.
But it's patience. There are, you know, you can use all sorts of things to mechanically do some of this.
Um, you got to spend quite a bit of money to skip to a machine that'll do it without you having a pretty solid understanding of what's going on.
And I think this is the best way to get a clear understanding of what's going on is by just a series of failures, man.
Like you got to try a bunch of stuff that don't work.
Some of it's going to work.
Collect that information.
Go on from there.
Now, there are things like diamond stones that you can get in quite a variety that will cut this faster than these cheap methods that I'm using.
But that's sort of my niche, you know, is that I'm going to do it in an inexpensive way with accessible things generally.
Now, as I because right now I'm an amateur, right?
If I decide to pursue even higher levels and I and and I need more refinement and things have to be dead perfect as consumables, then I may upgrade to some more complex systems or more accurate things, but not until I understand how to do it by hand.
And I'm cutting a bevel, but I don't yet have an edge on it.
This will also be how we know if this even works, right?
cuz we may have to go back down to an even heavier grit and then work our way back up.
Now we got a little bit of a bur on that one, but a little bit of a burr, folks. I'm stoked. I found a human hatchet and the Stanley 45 on marketplace at way cheaper than I thought I could get. They both work and they're decades old. I expected that school. That sounds awesome.
That sounds awesome. The only amateur in anything boxing west. You're a gold medalist and three time national gold club champ.
I appreciate you.
Hey Wayne, what's up?
This really is awesome. Damn it.
You guys are awesome. Damn it.
We're going to learn how to sharpen a knife before this day is done.
Oh, you're watching the student, my friend.
That's what you're watching. You're watching me apply the techniques of past masters.
I saw um the hatchet sheath video the other day somebody sent me and now I'm going to copy that completely. I'm taking that whole idea and when I do it I'm going to film it and you can take that idea.
I do not have nearly cool accent that dude has though.
See, sometimes you can tell.
Sometimes you can tell when it's coming together.
But it's patience.
Like once we get an edge, we've got an edge.
The refining process is not as cumbersome as the cutting process.
Getting that edge cut for the first time.
And this is 320. So, we can go straight to the 400 on the wet stone from here and maybe that'll give us some results.
Those things are pretty hardy, but I really feel like I'm making some progress here.
accent. I don't hear anything. That's the thing. I don't have an accent.
You said that again. You're from South Carolina. Yeah.
Yes. Uh Chuck, I thought it was an awesome project. Dance because that's your accent. You don't hear it. It's your own accent. I don't think I have an accent, but other people do. says Woodchuck or Caleb, you have a you have kind of an accent, Caleb. Like you got a rhythm to your to how you speak.
You got a cool rhythm to how you speak.
Just took my creatine. Going for that carpenter physique this summer. Let's go. Wild and wavy.
Let's go.
I don't think I have an I almost read that twice.
I like accents.
I do. I wish mine was a little, you know, it's just what it is. It's what it is.
I go stand out in Europe.
You know what I'm saying?
They think American accents in Europe are like just bad English.
Whenever you hear a European do a English accent, it's it's straight out of Texas.
It's always a Texan accent.
But some accents are just just cool. I'm convinced that there are some accents that that you can get more money with, right? That is just on on their own just a negotiation tool. You know what I'm saying?
I'm convinced.
I'm convinced.
I'm also convinced that I need to put files on this thing.
Looking at it now, it's just way too just way thicker than I thought.
Way thicker than I thought.
And I'm sorry to have wasted your wonderful time.
That's how we learn.
close.
I must have something in there. That ain't sliding as as nice as it used to.
That's like the lion's fish shop. He's got an accent. Love it. Yeah, he does got a cool Lions is a is a sharp, quickwitted guy, too. Like I I wish I could engage my chat like that. I really do.
Like he'll read all them comments. He'll just be blowing through them and he'll also be appropriately responding. It's not even like he's just saying what's up to say what's up. Hey Wes, how you doing? Did you finish that thing the other day?
>> Like, hey, yeah, I did finish that thing.
He's a cool guy, too.
Oh, my UK buds.
Tighten this down a little more. Get a little bit less movement in my situation.
Yeah.
Oh, yeah. That's the stuff.
That's his stuff right there.
All right, let's demagnetize this and then we'll get to working with it.
All right, done.
Slap off the noise.
All right, let me move some stuff out of the way so I don't toss all my goodies across the room.
Oh yeah.
Oh, I like what that's doing already.
down.
Down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down Down down down down.
a certain rhythm and continuity feels important to hang on to in this process.
And this is harder to do since the heat treatment.
that there's no chance of overheating anything this way.
As opposed to the belt grinder that might compromise our tip.
We never want our tips compromised.
It's unamerican.
I'm sorry I'm ignoring chat, not intentionally doing it.
Just can't break my rhythm right now because I lose my spot as I move throughout this blade.
Get very intentional about your movements. And you kind of got to hold your head in the same position so you don't move the light.
I don't know how good I'm going to be at getting uh the consistency.
of where that edge stops.
I think I'll be able to get a good edge though.
This is working.
Slow motion.
It's working.
But it's got to stay locked in. I do.
Agent, are you watching these fights tonight?
I feel who you think could be the next face of boxing.
Atuma Shakur Benvdes.
Sorry for the spam. Ain't no spam, man.
I love Benvites. I think Benvdes is the next guy. I think, you know, I think Shakur could be the next guy. I think talentwise he got everything.
Um, but he got a people like fugulism, you know what I mean?
Um they just plain old like a guy to beat somebody up.
Um, and that's the that's the only uh that's the only marketing knock on Shakur that and he won't fight Keshan and they keep saying that which is corny.
Can you imagine freaking Isaiah Thomas and and and Magic Johnson saying, "Oh, we're not going to play against each other in the finals cuz we're friends." Like, shut up. This ain't a grudge match. You're not punching them cuz you're mad at him.
You're punching them cuz you're a world champion.
And in order to legitimately be that, you got to beat everybody, too.
Only time I don't think that works is for actual blood brothers.
Actual blood brothers.
Nah, I could get I could give the Klitschkos a pass. I give the Charlos a pass.
Nobody else.
I feel like I need to take that further out.
I mean, Mera refused to fight for the belt against Aij, the best friend and training partner was a champion. I had no idea.
But, uh, I would have talked smack to him.
I would have talked smack either way.
Man, you're a pro. You got to fight.
I don't think once you once you're a champion, I don't think you get to say no to somebody in your division.
Not still call yourself champ. Got to get that belt up. You want to give that belt to your best friend? Go ahead.
But otherwise, the duck work.
Terence Crawford beat up Sean Porter.
beat up Shawn Porter. He said, "No, we friends."
Sean Porter said, "I can't sleep at night thinking about that fight."
And then, in the words of my man Jay Smith, he beat them up.
They still friends.
They're just rich friends now.
I'll give that a little water cuz I felt like it.
Uhoh. I don't think I got the best angle on that one for that side.
I might try that right there.
black quack black.
Now, just so you know, you don't have to do any of this.
on just a regular blade, right? This is a brand new making of blade. So, don't let this intimidate you into thinking that this is a sharpening process.
This is an edge making process, right?
Pack pass dance pass.
This is a raw man making steel his tool.
Taking tools and making tools out of the tools with the tools.
That's right.
This aggravates some.
Helps me to keep an angle though.
I just can't do it. You're going to break it.
>> You just been doing what you just did.
>> I promise you'll not put metal back on that thing.
You're going to ruin that chisel.
It's $3.
$3 I'll never get back.
You can see it happening now though.
Pack pump.
Get some of this shavings out of my thing. My bar and ride back to it again.
Woohoo.
Right back to it again.
Woohoo.
Got some shavings on my fing shavings on my fingers.
Got to maintain some kind of rhythm some kind of way. Man, this is magnet.
Black.
Boo.
When I win YouTuber of the year, I'm going to I'm going to challenge the Island Boys and Dean the Great and Adrien Broner to a fight.
WWE style. No chairs in the ring. Folding chairs for everybody.
I think I can make both them island boys tap out at the same time. I think I can probably tie them in a knot together.
Make them quit together.
I wouldn't release the hold though until they apologize for being who they are.
Definitely Dean know we get goo off.
Yeah the goofballery.
Oh the humanity.
I don't know Jake Paul heel up. You know what I'm saying?
He was about to fight Javvante.
He and his tank about the same size.
He's half my age. It'd be like a Mike Tyson thing.
I don't know. I'm still pretty nice on my feet, though.
Hey, down.
All I do is think about you.
What y'all doing with y'all's Saturdays?
Oh, you said you were going to watch the fight. He gonna do him worse than AJ did. You see Jake wants to fight Canelo next. Oh my god.
Yeah, Canelo beat the brakes off Jake Paul.
Canelo is one of the most seasoned guys in the sport.
If you ain't got some real special gifts, you're not going to out think him, not going to out tough him.
You have to have some physical gifts.
And Big Paul ain't got them gifts. Not on a on a boxing level.
Jake probably beat up, you know, 95% of the population.
None of those are professional highle boxers, though.
cuz they're in the 99 percentile.
World champion is a a strong word. That ain't like a Super Bowl. What country?
cla back.
Hey Black down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down down Let's see where we at.
This is a tough tough blade, dude.
It's going to be good for that reason.
It's going to be good for that reason.
But it's toughness is motivating me to go harder.
Toughness is making me feel like it can handle the toughest of the tough.
Let's give it a shot.
Let's give it a shot.
Move you over here for a quick second.
Okay.
How can we situate this?
That might be the best way.
Which way we spinning?
that way.
over there.
This out the way.
and put you back in my heart.
See how much shorter those sparks are and that little travel they have.
Not going very far.
That is a testament to the metal.
state of the metal.
I'm going to do one quick soft run here for the face of the blade.
Sort of pretty it up.
I want you to do.
Um, don't try to forgive me. I know this is uh tedious, but I am learning.
as I go.
I know there's no excuse.
I'm not keeping you entertained.
I am willfully endangering myself.
I love you.
I know Oh, I know.
You're such a I will be your Saturday night.
What this thing is?
That [ __ ] I I'm getting a better bevel.
Like 100%. I'm getting a better bevel.
We could do it that way, but you need to cut off the side. I hope you see this.
Okay, hold on. What I miss? What I miss?
What I miss?
At least be to the side so you're not directly in front of it. Hope you see that chat.
Only thing I would say is I wouldn't show up in the other side. If it comes out of your hands, you're done.
just posted a community page. You want to check out your night vice? Oh, dope.
That's what's up.
Hitting the button.
The way that this is set up, Caleb, the direction it's going, if it were to hit, it would jump and go that way, not this way. It's going that way.
That way.
So, I do appreciate it.
Yeah.
You make me smile.
Starting to get a starting to get a mur.
Go.
tear it up now. Feel good.
I appreciate your concern, Caleb.
You're a good man, man.
One of the best chuckers of what I ever seen.
How's the carbon channel going, Caleb?
I haven't seen it hit my timeline as much as this this particular one.
I'm pulling that bevel up. I don't know if you can see it.
I want it up higher than that.
That's what I'm meaning to do.
And there we go.
I'm sorry I'm going to disappoint you.
That's just me changing the battery.
More of that same nonsense coming right up.
I know.
I know.
I'm ashamed of myself.
You don't think I hurt thinking about this?
I don't know. This thing is kind of hot right now. I might have to give it a second.
Where the heck am all the battery at?
Oh, over there in place where I store it.
Nice.
Telling you this thing right here. Tool of the year. I think I'm going to start giving out awards.
Tool.
West does it. Tool of the year.
I'm going to give it a little bit of rest before I hit that trigger again.
And that son of a gun gunning.
Give it a minute to gather itself.
And I'd like to talk to you about your car insurance. Just kidding.
Let's see. If you keep making these knives, I'm going to have to show you a picture of my sharpener. It's killer.
Do it. Wes does it. I'm gonna join your channel. Yo, JJ Zenas.
Yo, that's dope.
That's what's up. I watched a dude with a ponytail says beard grooves get his hair caught in a drill press and low gear. Bro got scalp. Yo, that's crazy.
That's mad crazy. Yo, >> I can't believe that. That is nuts.
But I'm thrilled that JJ Zen Dehouse is joining us. That dude is dope.
My wife seen it. She confiscated a good or the biggest rose. Probably a 100 pound log. Your wife seen it and confiscated it. That's right. Who else gets your giant rose? You better not deliver that to somebody else.
Get yourself in a world of trouble.
And I don't want that for you, my friend. I want you in a world of delight and happiness.
All right, here we go. Once again, as Dr. Dre said, once again, it's all Dr. Grace head shady you a face head.
Nuhuh. Why your face red, man? You rac my you self in the back trunk of the bell.
Oh, that feels good. Still tummy. Tell me tell me Feel like I'm real close to just having the edge I want.
And then we can go to actual polishing.
I don't Where were we?
320.
Yeah.
And what are these?
should be a somewhat more functional campaign at this stage.
Let's see.
considerably quieter than that one.
West does it. How long have you had your channel? JJ, I've had my channel for just that at probably 15 16 months I've been uploading now.
So, it's been a good time so far. mostly shorts and live streams, but I'll be working on some long form videos soon. I got some out there. Couple uh just kind of intro stuff and then one how to regrout some mosaic.
Oh, what a job this is. Absolutely.
It's a good time, man.
They're doing all kinds of stuff over here, JJ.
It's nice to uh see some of the guys from uh Box Center come through, hang out with your boy.
Yeah, I could do a sharp test uh now just to see. I don't know where we at yet.
Well, this is oak.
We're getting something out of it.
No miracles, you know. It's 320, but I'm not mad.
It's at least an edge now, right? We officially got a blade finally.
That was not going to happen with what we had before.
We're starting to get a nice little edge on that thing. Some edgification.
You know what I mean? I feel like we could probably move to the wet stones right now. Or we could keep going with these um these here.
Where were we at? We were at 600, right?
Let's go to six on the paper. We'll do the six on the paper cuz we shouldn't have to do a whole whole lot.
wet dry paper. So, we're going to go wet.
I mean, why would pull it at my bevel and I'm just dragging across the flat. That flat right there. Same on the other side. I'm just dragging across it. Pulling the spine towards me. Cuz with the paper, you don't want to push the blade. You don't want to lead with the blade. It can tear the paper. I can cut into the paper pretty easily if you make a mistake. This way you get more use out of it.
That edge starts to polish up.
That's That's basically what I'm doing.
Riding that same edge on the other side. Now, here I'm just going to press the tip down so I can keep it sort of in check. In fact, I'm going to bring this one back a little bit just so I got a little of this extension right here and even more clearance over here.
even more.
Yeah, some big fights tonight. I got a dual channel boxing and woodworking word. Always feel like JJ Phil hop in and talk boxing with us whenever he's live. Yeah, man. Feel free.
Feel free.
I love to see friends in the chat.
Friends in the chat. Friends. Friends in the chat. Hey Johnny, how you doing?
How's your evening going? How's your day?
My wife is making nachos, so my day is about to be planned different.
Go upstairs like Antonio Banderas.
Hello.
I've noticed you have made nachos for me.
They look quite delicious.
Could you serve them to me in my mouth or anyway? That's what that's the script that my wife wrote for me. Anyways, from nachos night, I don't trip. I mean, the wig I think is a bit much, but you know, happy wife, you know.
I didn't say I was going, but if it's nacho, then what are you eating?
Hello in friend. You are eating chips that don't belong to you.
Clearly those are nachos.
I did a breaded pork chops, mashed potatoes, and country gravy. Oh my god, that sound good, dude.
Thanks, Andrew.
The assist from Caleb. Yeah.
Just audibly do y'all's joke to get some credit. Yeah.
Jokes.
That edge is starting to look sweet though. Look at that.
That edge is starting to look sweet.
I like it when we're doing it right. You know what I'm saying?
A lot more rewarding.
You're actually making a knife while you're making a knife. You know what I'm saying?
and you find out that you're actually doing the thing that you're trying to do.
We still got the uh the sheath and the uh scales for this knife. It's all one thing. I'm going to just cut it in half.
I like it.
I still got a a burr running this edge and I'm glad to have it. I'm going to keep dragging that thing.
Keep dragging that thing and then we'll move on to the next uh next grid up since we're having some success here.
We're just going to keep on uh moving up with the sandpaper.
See what we get to. See what we come out of it with. Right now we're at 600 and we're getting some results.
But we'll go ahead and make the shift to 12.
I thank I thank you for the likes. I thank you for the subcribes.
Can I make the beats?
Oh snap. We got rappers and backup dancers.
Who make beats? I need somebody to make me some theme music.
Who is man make his life from bare hands?
That's it. Damn right.
Who is a man making with a brother man?
That's it. You dig it?
sits in his garage basement making cool stuff for his friends, hanging out, chilling with his crew, with his man and women.
He doesn't.
Yeah, something like that.
I'll try YMCA. That's all I got.
You dance like a 2x4.
Hilarious.
I don't know, man.
And the with the right motivation, herbal supplement, I can I will cut a rug. I cut a hardwood floor. You know what I mean?
Oh, wait. Are we getting a knife? Is that what's happening right now?
Oh yeah, man. These cheap like what's what's cheaper than sandpaper and blocks of wood? What?
And I got tons of this stuff. Tons of this sandpaper.
So whenever one block wears out, let's wrap another sheet around it.
I got like six sheets per and then I can get probably six of these out of each sheet.
That's 36 times I can make this block for like 10 bucks.
And I don't know how many knives I'm going to be able to get out of each time I do it.
But if it's one, you got 36 knives.
10 bucks.
I don't know if I can get cheaper than this and still get effective.
I'm stuck kissing myself in the mirror.
Wait until I actually try this thing.
over here making out with myself. All right, let's see.
There is a we think I'm going to use old school right here.
a good strap.
Not going to miss it.
Plus, it's the first one I found. So, let's get going with it. Same thing.
We're going to trail the edge behind the spine.
Still riding that same edge, fam.
That's all we doing.
Now, we could get into some polishing with this. Um, and we might after the fact we'll see how the uh how the handle is coming along. See if it's ready to enclose this bad boy once we got us a sharp knife to tuck in there.
But I'm getting pretty gosh darn proud of that edge.
Telling you that right now.
Me to you. I'm not a vain man, but sort of feeling away about this bad boy.
I got a YouTube short inspired by you.
Serious but funny. I hope it turns out good. Right on, man.
Good. Look who's good.
That would be a YouTube Oh, man. I miss somebody name. Somebody got a a good tag on new rap name in the group and I missed it.
I'm sorry.
Chat went by too fast.
Hey, look. I hope I'm I'm I'm so glad that I inspire you all, buddy.
You inspire me, too. You don't inspire me to chainsaw car. I'm disinterested in that skill set in the moment. Like pretty hardcore or not, but I enjoy watching it.
I enjoy watching you do it. You're a good at it.
I was really impressed to find out that you'd only been doing this for a little while.
I thought like you had only been dis had only made your channel a little while ago. I didn't realize you hadn't even been chainsaw carving all that long. You're incredible talent, man.
And you're a great personality.
I enjoy watching you and laughing with you.
I know I'm stropping the Jesus out of this thing. Just kind of like it as shiny as possible. You know what I'm saying?
Let's also see if it'll cut something.
Oh, that did that real easy. Yeah, that's oak.
Ready to go.
Oh, I don't even know if he was seeing it. Were you seeing it? All right, I'll do it again.
A little tougher to do without a handle on the follow through.
We're cutting it and then maybe we will put a little bit of the tough stuff on it with the uh what do you call them? The stones. The stones.
Really the stones.
Wait for one one second. One second. One second. Slipping and tripping. Falling.
I got to get up.
Listen, I'm going to have to go and get some nachos. I'm tripping.
You know what I'm saying?
And uh when I get down, E, what's up?
Good to see you, Dad. Going to just see you when I'm when I'm exiting.
But I am exiting. I'm getting ready to go get me some delicious treats and have some dinner. And I'll be back when I'm done with that. So long as my wife doesn't kidnap me. And I can't promise that she won't. But I'll show you this before I go.
Our centipede is drying and that's what we're going to put our blade in.
And then we're going to seal it in there. Bam. This is going to be the outside.
And uh we're going to cut that in half after we shave it, mold it, and cut it on the saw with the blade inside of there. It's going to be a gas. A stone groove, baby. A stone groove.
Oh, yeah.
For sure. I'm over at the box center while I'm eating. You know it.
That'll be good, man. Listen, listen. I know y'all saw me in here talking boxing. I'm always talking boxing with these guys. And they are fun and hilarious to do that with. Who is super fun to do that with is Jay Smith. Look at that. That's my uh cracked screen.
That's how I'm sacrificing for y'all.
But Jay Smith over at Box Center.
You should check him out. He is hilarious and he is a good time for sure. Later y'all. I'mma see y'all later. Peace. West does it.
