Maryland may see some breaks in the rain this evening before another overnight wave moves throughAdded:
All right, what a great story. Well, what's not so great has been this weather that we have been experiencing, but uh Greg, a little better looking for tomorrow, right? More tomorrow time to get outside?
We're keeping our fingers crossed with that, Brian. We've been looking at the models. They are indicating that we're going to get some breaks into the afternoon for tomorrow. Might give us a breaks at least on the rainfall. Still may have a lot of clouds around. For today, we've had these showers, these pesky showers around all day long. It's really been uh raining across most locations. We'll open up the weather wall here and take a look outside here in the weather observatory. And you can see behind me a lot of sunshine a lot of sunshine hopeful sunshine coming as we head into tomorrow. Still locked in with the clouds for tonight. And you can even see the raindrops there on the windshield as we take a look out there.
Now, we look at some areas south of Baltimore picked up about 6/10 of a rainfall today since midnight. Other areas well west of us have seen about a half an inch up here towards Westminster. And even further west, we've seen rainfall totals about an inch or so in areas of Fredericksburg and Frederick's and out to the west. And so, we are looking at areas that have picked up some decent amounts of rainfall. We continue to be in that drought. So, the rain is helping for sure across the region. And we'll be keeping our fingers crossed that we get more. But it's just coming on a holiday weekend when a lot of people have outdoor plans. We have Artscape down downtown. And the Orioles now playing two games for tomorrow. I do believe we're going to be able to get some of those activities in for tomorrow. We'll take a look at that forecast. Give you a better perspective of what we're looking at as far as those uh those conditions for tomorrow and how much drier may be as we head into the afternoon for that for you. In fact, I'll show that to you here over on the wall. That basically means with our temperatures for tonight into the mid-50s, tomorrow we're going to be warmer than that. We're going to actually see temperatures tomorrow about 10 to 15° warmer. Especially if we get some of those breaks in the cloud cover coming out for tomorrow. So, that's promising news. If we do get the breaks, those temperatures will shoot up into the 70s for tomorrow afternoon. We head out there for tonight. You'll see those temperatures for tonight dropping down into the low range of the 50s. Now, here's some of that rainfall I was talking about since midnight. Again, you see some of those areas in blue off to the west in the panhandle region. Over an inch of rainfall, some areas in southern Maryland also near 6/10 of an inch of rainfall. So, we are adding up in the rain bucket and this is tomorrow coming our way. This is what it looks like as we stop the radar for tomorrow and into Tuesday. Still some rounds of rain coming. It looks like for uh it looks like for Tuesday and Monday we might get more rain than actually on Sunday. So, Sunday's kind of an in between another round of rain coming for us as we head into Memorial Day. Now, your forecast out there for tonight across most of regions will see those temperatures in the low 50s. Still some of that light shower activity out there.
Keep that in mind if you're going to have any plans for this evening. Then we head out the door for tomorrow. Again, notice some of these icons, these little pictures beside the temperatures. I've added some sunshine in there, some peaks of sunshine coming out into the afternoon. That'll push those temperatures up into the mid-range of the 60s for us. So, some good news there. Northern tier will see our counties also experiencing from Baltimore County over to Frederick into the mid-60s again with some sunshine.
Also, the only place that might see some more rainfall will be up in the northern part of northeastern part of the state near Cecil and Cecil County. 25 75° at Denton for tomorrow with scattered showers again in the first part of the day but improving. It's going to be cooler along the beaches. We'll be in the upper 60s but again, I think you'll see some sunshine at times into the afternoon out there. And that 7-day forecast takes us not only through for the holiday weekend but back into the work week. You'll notice we warm up into the low 80s, more sunshine and definitely drier as we head into the end of the week. Rain chances will actually stay in there all the way through Thursday as we have Orioles also in town every day for the next seven. Brian?
