This video presents a critical analysis of The Devil Wears Prada 2, arguing that the sequel failed to evolve creatively by merely changing the setting from Paris to Milan, adding Lady Gaga, and keeping the same story, characters, and themes as the original film despite 20 years passing in the narrative. The critic contends that the filmmakers relied on audience nostalgia and the original cast's star power rather than developing a new story, resulting in a film that offers nothing new to cinema.

Why do I think The Devil Wears Prada 2 shouldn't have existed? #annehathaway #merylstreep #movieAdded:
The Devil Wears Prada 2 is a disappointment and brings nothing new to the world of cinema. The film is directed by David Frankl and in quotes written by Alen Brash McKenna who essentially just took the first film changed the setting from Paris to Milan and added Lady Gaga. Disappointingly, it's the same story. Andrea, Andy, Anne Hathaway returns to the same role as in the first film, doing everything possible and more to impress and gain the approval of Miranda Priestley, Meyer Street, only to then complain repeatedly to her group of friends about how difficult it is to please their boss, who seems to have suffered an inexplicable bout of amnesia because she's the only one in the group who doesn't remember Andrea. 20 years have passed, and the characters remain exactly the same. The writer and director didn't even take 5 minutes to rewrite the script and allow for any evolution in at least one of them. They didn't even bother investing in a new soundtrack. The only new thing is Lady Gaga's song, whose presence lately has only served to ruin the films. They only tried to impose restrictions on Miranda, who is now strictly monitored for her derogatory comments about the physical appearance of her colleagues. Any comments are immediately cancelled and can be posted on social media. Miranda hasn't changed. she just faces the threat that anything she says can be exposed. There's also the forced inclusion since the staff and interns at the magazine she heads aren't all thin, white, and well-dressed like in the first film. This is an attempt to show that something has changed. Nigel Kipling, Stanley Tucci, remains at Miranda's side like a loyal squire, hoping that mommy will finally notice him and after a thousand years acknowledge his ability to hold a higher position. He doesn't raise his voice or ask for it, resigned to waiting, even if it means dying until Miranda notices him and with her magic wand grants him the position he deserves. Emily, Emily Blunt, has only grown to hate Miranda and is now waiting for the moment to exact revenge for the long years she was belittled. This is despite the fact that in the new film, she's an executive at Dior, which isn't enough. Andrea Anne Hathaway tries to remain the same immaculate, innocent girl who wants to be friends with everyone, who is terrified when she talks to Miranda, but who wants to be her boss's savior. The runway editor is always a hundred steps ahead and knows that Emily wants to get rid of her. Miranda continues to despise everyone, and Andrea tries to save her once again, all while wearing the same anguished expression for almost 2 hours of the film. In short, 20 years have passed since the first Devil Wears Prada film, and it's clear they relied solely on audience nostalgia for the original and above all on the fact that the original cast would make them millions of dollars, the same millions that the stars earned. And that's not necessarily a bad thing. What I didn't like at all is that they didn't bother to create a different story and that all they sold was hype with so much promotion without contributing anything of value to cinema.
