>> For all you mad bastards loving the Big Show podcast, get up [music] even closer on Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok.
4:00 to 7:00 every weekday on Radio Hauraki.
>> Dog, get a fellas.
>> Hello.
I just remembered something really weird that happened to me today. And then I put it out of my mind and it's just put some I don't know why it popped back into my mind.
>> Was it something to do with someone in the CBD?
>> Yes, it was. Right outside my apartment there, dude walking down the street wearing a mask.
>> What kind of mask? Like a COVID mask?
>> Yeah, like a COVID black mask. But I noticed him walking across the street and he was doing weird stuff and I think that's why I was looking at him and he was walking down the path and then he stopped and he saw me looking at him through my window and he did the whole he did the gun thing.
>> Through what was Through Were you at home? I was at home.
>> I was just staring at >> And then he did the gun thing and put the gun thing to his head and went duh.
>> So for the people at home, Jace is putting finger guns to his side of his head and pulling the trigger.
>> And I was like, oh, that's a bit intense. Then he goes and sits down on the path and starts vaping through his mask. I think he was chatting but there was no one there.
>> Didn't want anyone reading his lips.
>> Maybe. And then he lifted up his shirt and he was wearing trackies and he had a sweatshirt on and he had a bottle of Heineken in his in his trackies.
>> When he did the gun thing to you, you should have done like a bow and arrow or something back.
>> Yes.
>> I should have dropped.
>> Or you should have like pulled out two guns and then been like shoot now have a shoot off.
>> But isn't that funny and I completely forgot about that because at the time I was like, oh, that's quite intense.
>> I don't know what the breakfast boys were talking about this morning but there's a text here. Would you like to hear it, Jace?
>> Sure.
>> It's about you.
>> Oh, no.
>> you >> want to hear it?
>> Is it going to depress me?
Do you know what's interesting?
>> We'll see how it goes.
>> Uh before you read this, my wife came across a Reddit thread the other day about New Zealand radio hosts or something.
And then one of the comments was like, um "Do the radio announcers like each other on Hoki because the breakfast show guys are always going Keysey and Hordey Jay?"
Like they genuinely don't like us. So that was And Lucy was like, "Have you seen that?" And I was like, "Oh, [ __ ] They must have been putting the boot into us recently."
>> Standard, isn't it?
>> So now with that in mind, I wonder what the sticks is.
>> Here it Here it Here it goes. You ready?
>> Yes.
>> Jason Hoyte gives me a rager.
>> Oh, that's No, okay. That's all right.
>> That's pretty good.
>> Yeah, that's fine.
>> [snorts] >> Um Yeah, well, it's funny, isn't it, how people can perceive our relationships.
>> Yeah.
>> You know what I mean? Because >> Cuz people would think you and I are best mates, AJ.
>> [laughter] >> But it's all just It's all just the radio.
>> It's all just a little It's all just a massive lie.
Um but yeah, how did that go on break? I didn't listen to >> I listened to Ben Hurley and Manaia this morning.
>> Oh, yeah?
>> I like that pairing.
>> Right.
>> They're great. And I think it's because we've done Well, that I'm not doing anymore, but we did like 4 years of the Mad Monday NRL podcast together.
>> Oh, yeah.
>> And so it's literally just like you you jump in with someone you're familiar with. You can instantly tell that a show's better.
>> Yeah, yeah, yeah.
>> Well, not better than when you do it.
>> What do you mean? What do you do?
They've been together for a year every single day.
>> they randomly paired someone up. Like they are want to do sometimes.
>> Mm.
>> Uh how was the weekend, fellas?
>> Good. Had the parents up, man.
>> Yeah, I saw that.
>> Did you? Or did you hear about it on the radio last week when I talked about it a lot?
>> On the Insta.
>> First time putting a photo of my me and my parents up on the Insta.
>> Yeah. How did that go?
>> Well, it it was good, but I was like, I'm going to have to keep an eye out for comments here.
>> Yep.
>> Yeah, yeah.
>> Cuz if someone Cuz like I love the Big Show audience, but if someone actually comments anything [ __ ] up about my parents, I'll be like, "Okay."
>> Yes.
>> Everything was great.
>> Well, that's good.
>> That's why I'm always >> I haven't had a chance to comment yet, so my apologies.
>> Oh, no, you're allowed to. You'll say something about old [ __ ] >> You'll say something about >> I'm always very every very very loath to put my any of my family members in in the Insta.
>> Totally.
>> You know what I mean? Cuz I just go, "No, I'm not doing it."
>> But my WIFE WHO IS >> [screaming] >> ON INSTAGRAM HERSELF, obviously private.
She said she's got about 200 follower requests from random dudes around New Zealand.
>> [laughter] >> Which is quite funny. But my parents like them, I don't know.
It's sweet, man. They're not my kids, you know.
>> No, man.
>> I don't know.
>> I don't know if you know this, but I'm their kids.
>> Yeah, that's right.
>> They can handle themselves.
>> Yeah.
>> [ __ ] yeah. Especially old Don.
>> Yeah, man. Don't mess with old Don.
>> [ __ ] yeah.
>> Um how was your weekend, Maggy? I'm sensing a big one.
>> Well, no. No, the problem is I got um I was telling Keasy before you came out. I got on the Otrivin.
>> What's that again? The spray?
>> Sinus spray. Sinus spray.
And it turns out what it is is that um it affects your blood vessels in your honker.
>> Right.
>> And then and then you get a I know a lot of blood vessels in there.
I must say a lot of spray.
Uh they must be a shooter.
>> You had one of those weed sprayers from the garden?
>> Yeah, yeah.
>> Did you have a backpack on and just shove the nozzle on?
>> [laughter] >> Um and so you get a bounce back from it.
So, it clears your nose in the short term, but in the long term, no good. So, all the complaining that I've been doing, I think, you know how you get end up with a cough?
>> Yes.
>> And all that sort of stuff, it's from the Otrivin.
>> Right.
>> And so that and also the Codral. So, the the spray um constricts the blood vessels in your sinuses.
And Codral and all that sort of stuff, that constricts the blood vessels in your entire body, including in your honker.
>> Right.
>> after that, it it can agitate it agitates those blood vessels and so it the uh the swelling increases and the agitation increases. What do you call that? There's a word for it.
>> Inflames.
>> Inflammation increases. So, it gets rid of it temporarily, but it it keeps it long-term. But, because I didn't know that, especially with the cold drill, and would have just have been using it and using it and using it. I'm just making it worse and worse and worse.
>> Right.
>> And so, now I just have to completely stay away from it.
>> Cuz Otrivin >> And cuz it just [ __ ] you as well. I've been [ __ ] all weekend, just exhausted.
>> It says on the thing like, um, don't use for more than 3 days consecutively.
>> That's right. So, that's what I do, and then I take a week off.
>> Yeah, then you use it again.
>> And then because you've done it so so much. But, I also think, yeah, that it that's true until it's not.
>> Yeah, well.
>> Also, I got to bed about 5:00 in the morning on Saturday morning.
>> And you weren't drinking?
>> Oh, I was hammered.
>> Yeah. [laughter] >> That's the most confusing way to say yes. I was going >> to say you've been sounding really good.
>> I have.
>> Um, and I thought you were over that little bastard. But, I thought he must be on the durries or something.
>> enough, I know I know that it's not related to the drinking. Uh, but it was a great weekend. What a weekend to be alive.
>> Are you doing like shots of Otrivin though, were you?
>> I was literally drinking it.
>> The Hauraki Big Show, weekdays from 4:00 on Radio Hauraki.
The Hauraki Big [music] Show podcast.
>> reading something just in the last day or two, just in that kind of vein about Viagra. Not because I'm interested in Viagra, >> Instagram.
>> Um, but it was >> it.
>> It And it was something to do with not inflaming, but >> I know where you were. You were standing there.
>> It as engorging every organ in your body, not just that organ.
>> All right.
>> And then that affects the entire body and and area.
>> So, you >> Just for the record, it's important I say this.
>> [clears throat] >> I've never taken Viagra. And I tell you I'll tell you why though.
>> Cuz you tried to snort it once and it had a really bad effect.
>> No, cuz I >> And you needed 1,800 to get up your heart.
>> No doubt I would have a heart attack if I had.
>> everything. He snorted it, it got stuck in his nose.
>> And I was also >> sniffed an entire tablet.
>> I was also put off [laughter] I was also put off by Lane story about taking it and how he had an erection forever.
>> Yeah.
>> And he just couldn't get rid of it.
>> got it.
>> And I've also heard stories that if you take Viagra and your erection doesn't go away, get yourself to an emergency place immediately.
>> about you, Jace, is that you sort of track down stories and you're more scared of medicine >> Yes.
>> than you are of doing things that are bad. So, you're more scared of of taking medicine or seeing a doctor than you are of vaping or smoking darts or any of these things.
>> Yeah, that's that's such a good point.
>> You don't trust the medicine. You trust all these things that are horrendous for you. They're fine. It's the medicine and the doctors.
>> That's totally right. I've always been I've always had a um a paranoia of pills and all that, any kind of medication.
>> What if they're drugs?
>> Well, I I don't I haven't really taken um pills, drug.
>> Yeah, right. Not a big drug guy.
>> No, I'm not. Um so, I've always had that suspicion. Like if I if I take a pill or something, I'll I'll sit there and I go, "Okay. Okay.
Okay. What's going to happen? Okay."
>> Here it comes.
>> Oh, and you know what it is? It back in the heyday, I may have taken certain things that come on very like you'll be fine and then all of a sudden it's like, "Hello."
>> Yeah.
>> Uh and so, I have that in deep-set paranoia in me of like >> Mhm.
>> taking something and then it overwhelming me.
>> Yes. Um Yeah.
>> What about you, Keasy?
>> What about me?
>> Are you the same?
>> No.
>> You love >> I don't give a [ __ ] >> Do you still have your um Why are you looking at me like that?
>> Do you still have your boner?
Do you still >> Baby laser.
What is that?
>> No, do you still have your um >> erection?
>> No.
>> Jace uses a vacuum cleaner pipe to snort lines, by the way. Just need to get that in there.
>> Yes.
>> I was a I thought it was a drain >> I have two pipes, one for each nostril.
No, do you still have your >> I thought it was a water view tunnel.
>> Where did you get the the [laughter] medication you got for What was the medication you got for when you >> I don't [ __ ] know.
>> and inverted commas pulled your hammy?
Trammies trammies.
>> Yeah, have I still got it?
>> Mhm. Yeah.
>> Okay.
>> I actually have it. I got rid of it.
Cuz I don't need trammies. What do I need trammies for?
God, everyone's getting real cagey now.
>> [laughter] >> Feeling good and you just >> Have you ever had one though?
>> What if you're having a bad day? You just want to feel good. You just take some drugs, Casey. Don't you know about it?
>> I literally have never had a bad day and then taken drugs to feel good.
>> What are you doing?
>> I just put a disclaimer in here? The fact In no way are we, you know, claiming anything good or bad about drugs.
>> I I mean, I am. I'm I'm saying I'm deeply paranoid of them.
>> You're saying you love them and everyone should do them.
>> Um and that and that is why I'm always loathe. You know, like even with things like depression or something like that or anxiety, they go, "Take these." And I'm like, >> Yeah.
>> That's such a good point you brought up but but I have a dad that's really bad for you. Okay.
>> Yeah, but >> Whatever.
>> But these could be maybe bad for you.
I've heard.
>> [laughter] >> I've heard.
>> most likely they're really good.
>> Yeah, that's right.
>> Just on that. When When did we go cuz I was trying to figure it out the other day, when did we go to Magic Round?
>> May.
>> May.
>> You tried to figure that out the other day. Why don't you just Google Magic Round?
>> Sitting there on the couch there.
>> figure it out.
>> Here and up in our little distance.
He's trying to work it out. He's got his [ __ ] epic hair.
>> My >> [laughter] >> my wife asked me how long's it been since you've had a cigarette?
>> Oh.
>> And it was Magic Round.
>> You're right.
>> There you go.
>> Oh, that's what it was.
>> Two months.
>> Two months. Not long, is it?
>> That's I I was hoping it was longer than that, to be honest. That's good though.
>> How long has it been since you've had a vape?
I had a vape on a Friday night.
>> All good, luck. [ __ ] heinous.
>> So good, eh?
>> Um that's good.
>> Well, I don't know.
>> No chance.
>> Half an hour?
>> I was actually going into a bit of a yarn about that.
People who vape defend it. They defend it to the bitter end. I said and I I said Well, I've said a lot of things, but one of the things I said was with tobacco, at least it comes from a plant.
You know, it kind of come like sure they do a whole lot of [ __ ] to it and that's horrendous, but at least you kind of know kind of know what you're getting.
But with the vape [ __ ] knows what their juice is.
Where does that come from?
>> Yeah, yeah, totally.
>> And everybody that vapes was going, "No, that's not tobacco. It's worse."
>> Yeah, that's for their own safety.
>> Oh, 100%.
>> That conversation >> And that was what the conversation in the >> I I have in no way convinced myself that vaping is good in any form.
>> I wonder what their juice is though, eh?
>> Yeah, what >> Vape juice.
>> Vape juice comes from the juice of a vape tree.
>> It'll just be >> a bunch of vape >> [ __ ] chemicals.
>> it from the vape vine.
>> [laughter] >> And you make sparkling vape juice with it.
>> Come on, man.
>> When you were reading that thing about Viagra, do you seriously want to know the image that popped into my head of you reading it?
>> Sure.
>> It was you standing in the bathroom >> naked >> no top half um t-shirt on.
Wearing the poo bottom half.
And it was like really intense like sterile lighting in your bathroom and you're reading the back of a packet of Viagra standing there with a massive limp penis.
>> [laughter] >> That was the image that was in my head.
>> Just with hope in your eyes.
>> With hope like and you're reading it like may cause blah blah and you're like, "Oh god."
>> With that.
>> The only That's remarkably [clears throat] accurate, Keysey. The only thing was she wasn't limp, mate.
>> So you got sterile lighting in your bathroom?
>> Yeah, it is.
>> were wearing the poo, eh?
>> It's very It's very brutal lighting in my bathroom lighting. You know those >> You were Donald Ducking.
>> One of our bathroom the lighting's quite nice. I like it. And the other bathroom it's shocking. You know how some lighting makes you look pretty good and other lighting's like, "Wow, Jesus."
>> Yeah.
>> I like the lighting in the toilet here is shocking.
>> That's cuz it's like sterile business toilet lighting.
>> Yes, neon.
>> [laughter] >> [ __ ] >> This isn't a business toilet. This isn't a recreational Anyway, this is the Big Show 407 weekdays.
