Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide Specs: Don't Expect an "Ultra"Añadido:
What is going on? Welcome to Greg's TV daily. Hope you're having a fantastic day. We're going to go through the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Plus, what we exactly know about it. And this is the wide edition of the Galaxy Z Fold 8. And some of the stuff has changed over the time of that I last did it, and I wanted to kind of go through that again with you cuz it's always going to change as time goes on up until the release. And then some even up to the release, sometimes the stuff isn't even correct.
So, 7.6-in inner foldable display with a 4x3 aspect ratio. Great [music] for video watching. It's going to weigh smaller black bars when you watch the videos. It's going to be better with gaming. The outside display is going to be better as well, 5.4-in, which is smaller, but it's much much wider. So, you're going to it's going to it's I think I'm hoping anyway [music] it's going to be a much better experience than what we get with the Galaxy Z Fold 7 outside display because the Z Fold 8 keeps that same aspect ratio, >> [music] >> which I can live with, but I think I want to live in this world.
2,600 nits of brightness. We haven't heard officially. I can't imagine they're going to go more than that though. It's kind of what they're sticking at. And to be fair, [music] it's it's completely fine. They might even be less, which I mean wouldn't be happy with, but I wouldn't be surprised at the same time. Just because they are trying to keep the price of this low, [music] it seems like. Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, which we should get. I think it'll get the full eight cores, [music] but we have to wait and see.
I know Oppo Find N6 only uses seven of the eight cores. Is Samsung going to go the same direction, especially if they make this super thin and light? We'll see.
12 gigs of RAM. I do not think you'll see a 16-gig version of this phone on the market. I think it's going to stick at 12.
I think if I think the only fold phone that have 16 will be the regular Z Fold 8, and I think it'll be the 1-TB version. Storage, 256 and 512. Again, I don't think we're going to see a 1 terabyte version of this phone. I think if you did, then it would have 16 gigs, but I just don't think it's going to happen.
50 megapixel wide main camera and a 50 megapixel ultra-wide. This has been just coming out this kind of news about the cameras, and that's why I've gone back saying, "Hey, this is going to be the plus version." Not only for its size, but also because they're downgrading some of these things on the phone. We already knew it had two cameras instead of the three that the regular Z Fold 8 has, so it kind of makes sense that they're >> [music] >> cutting costs here where they can in order to get this price lower than the regular Galaxy Z Fold 8, also known as the Ultra.
And at the end of the day, you're looking at that, you're like, "Okay, where are they going to cut the corners?" I think maybe the brightness, we'll see.
But that's 20 I said 2600 nits, but maybe we'll see something lower.
Cameras, definitely. Also, the cameras haven't been upgraded on the selfie, have it be the front display or the main display. They're still going to be 10 megapixels, which they work fine. Would I want them to be improved and better?
Yeah, >> [music] >> but it's they're not terrible.
4800 milliamp battery. So, not as big as the Z Fold 8, but bigger than the Z Fold 7, so that's a big, big plus. I think that the extra 400 milliamps plus the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 will make for a really good mix of hour or two more of battery life was my guess. And they'll obviously release those specs when those come out, but yeah, I think we'll see something pretty nice in terms of the battery life.
45-watt wired and 25-watt wireless. This has already kind of gone through regulation in China showing that it has this. So, unless something drastically changes or they hold something back, that's what you should expect for the wired charging and wireless, which is faster than the Galaxy Z Fold 7 on both fronts. Z Fold 7 is 25 and 15.
This should be 45 and 25.
>> [music] >> No S Pen support. Even the Z Fold 8 shouldn't get S Pen support, so I doubt the >> [music] >> Fold 8 Plus will get it either. IP48, I don't think we're going to see an improvement on the dust and water resistance on here. No magnets in there.
I just don't think they're doing that until next year, if they do it then even, but definitely not this year.
200 g of weight, we don't know officially what the weight is going to be, but somewhere around 200 g. So, it should be weighing less than the Galaxy Z Fold 7, which is already really light and really thin. Here's the dimensions for it, so it's pretty thin, not as thin as the Z Fold 7, >> [music] >> but fairly thin and again fairly lightweight at that. One UI 9.0 with it and you can already get 9.0 beta on the S26 phones here in America, and UK, [music] Korea, Germany, and some other countries as well.
Not a huge difference, honestly. I did a video on it, like my favorite features.
It was, you know, nothing [music] I would drastically want to change to, but they'll probably add something in that this phone gets that these other devices won't get or they won't get for even months later, even though I have the beta. So, One UI 9, not a huge difference. It's Again, it's more cosmetic and even [music] at that it's barely cosmetic.
I wouldn't It's nothing crazy. Price, >> [music] >> $1799 most likely, but we don't know for sure. I mean, it's going to be less, but it might be One of the things that wouldn't shock me is if this phone comes in at 1999, the same price as the Z Fold 7 did, but then the Z Fold 8, I can see them putting that the regular one up to like >> [music] >> 2199 because of how expensive everything is. Nothing will shock me with this. I do think it'll be $200 less than the regular Z Fold 8, but my guess is 1799 because I think they want to be less than the iPhone, like drastically, and they're cutting corners so that this phone still is really premium, but maybe not as premium as some of the other things. Like, the iPhone cameras I think are 48 megapixels a piece. These are 50, which is still higher than the iPhone.
This will beat the iPhone in a lot of aspects in terms of specs, and I think that's what Samsung's doing.
And I think what they'll end up showing off is a cheaper price by a lot less, probably by $500 at least cheaper than the iPhone fold.
But, at the same time having equal or better specs in a lot of different categories. [music] And then August 2026 release, but it'll be launched in July of 2026, most likely in the UK. So, yeah, that's kind of what we're looking at for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Plus/Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide.
>> [music] >> Is this still a phone you're interested in? Do you think it's cutting too many corners for you to to switch over to it or to get it? Let me know in the comments down below, and we'll see you guys down the road.
Peace.
