The Downfall of Yandere Dev

[00:00:00]Yandere Simulator is really weird, but there are things even weirder than Yandere Simulator, like Yandere Dev.

[00:00:06]Today I'm going to talk about Yandere Dev and Yandere Simulator because this game needs to be talking about, you know what I'm saying? But first, let's start from the beginning. He was born in 1980 18 California. During his childhood, he was interested in anime and video games.

[00:00:21]Later, he started spending time [music] on 4chan and he was ranting hateful about girls, writing disgusting things, and degrading them. Though he was insulting and loser. Anyway, then he was banned from 4chan. He really deserved that. Recently, some of his correspondence with Andrits Girls were leaked online. He later made an apology video, but he deleted those videos.

[00:00:43][music] Before developing Yandere Simulator, he worked on other games, but he [music] couldn't continue them.

[00:00:49]Probably later, he came up with the idea for Yandere Simulator. [music] He mentioned this on a website. I think it was 4chan. I'm not exactly sure. After people liked the idea, he started developing the game. And when the game came out, it really blew up. I remember all YouTubers were playing it. It was its prime. We used to watch it on YouTube all the time. Since he was developing the game alone, he started receiving donations on Patreon. But for a long time, no real rivals were added.

[00:01:17]There was only a test rival named Kokona, and she stayed the game for years. Later, people found [music] out that he was spending the donation money on himself. He even bought a doll and added into the game. I'm so sorry for this doll. After a while, the updates become less frequent, and instead of focus on two rivals, he started adding unnecessary features, like changing some character designs and things like that.

[00:01:43]Since the game has been in demo for years, people understandably starting to get frustrated. Normally, what would a game developer do when they see this kind of backlash? They would [music] probably focus on people actually want.

[00:01:57]But what did Yandere Dev do? He insulted people, banned it from his Discord server, and things got so bad that people even starting doing getting banned from the Yandere Simulator Discord speedruns. [music] At that point, he had basically turned it into a widely disliked developer, and the backlash kept growing. But, he didn't seem to care at all. When we were kids, we didn't really notice it, but the game actually has some disturbing elements.

[00:02:22]For example, you can take photo of students and lure them to earn money.

[00:02:26]And there are even controversial rivals.

[00:02:29]It also states that during Mida Rana's week, she behaves [music] inappropriately towards some male students. Honestly, at this point, I'm not even surprised to see [music] things like this in Yandere Dev's game. We all kind of know what he's like. I guess the only generally good thing he has done was adding Rainy. If you don't know, she was a Yandere Simulator fan. She passed away, but Yandere Dev added her in the game. Rest in peace, you will love Yandere [music] Simulator the 80s mod.

[00:02:55]The coding of Yandere Simulator is so bad that it can lag even on the best computers [music] in the world. The game has so many bugs that there are entire YouTube series dedicated to them. He also refuses help from people who want to improve the code, even if they don't ask for money. It seems like [music] he wants to present the game as if he made it entirely on his own. And he doesn't pay the artists who work on the game. To be honest, at this point, if he went to therapy, I feel sorry for the therapist.

[00:03:23]There are some ways to recordings and screenshots involving Yandere Dev, and they are generally disturbing. You're about to understand why so many people hate him.

But I wish he had continued working on the main game instead because [music] it's still in demo and he was really focusing on it anyway. After this mode came out he started focus more on his family and the game progress just got even slower. I mean who cares just finish the main game. But you know what? One good thing is that in the the 80s mode there's no features where you take photo on the girls skirts to earn money which is definitely a better choice. You know what? This game had so much potential.

[00:06:29]It's been [music] demo for over 10 years and there are still only two rivals. At this point I don't [music] think the game will ever be finished. I hope Yandere Dev sells the game because that's probably the only way it could actually be completed. But I really don't think that it's going to happen.

[00:06:45]In my opinion Yandere Simulator has basically turned into a scam. If it had been managed properly it could have an animated series, merchandise, even comics. But none of that happened.
