Does GMO wheat exist? The truth might surprise you!

[00:00:00]So, talk to me about GMO wheat. I've heard some conflicting things like, well, there is no such thing as GMO wheat in America and then other people say, well, we found traces of it.

[00:00:12]Is is GMO wheat a thing? Does it exist in I guess in the world or in the United States?

[00:00:19]>> Uh as far as I know, there's there's no GMO wheat commercially available anywhere in the world.

[00:00:27]Um does GMO wheat exist? Yes.

[00:00:31]Uh but it has never it has never been released for production. I remember years ago there was a big freak out and a scare, right? Cuz there was a farmer I don't remember where it was. Maybe it was in Oregon. There was a farmer maybe in Oregon and he'd gone out and he sprayed his field with Roundup and none of the wheat that was out there died.

[00:00:53]And so, um that I mean, that's been the main use for GMOs is in is in Roundup Ready, again, glyphosate like ready crops. So, um none of the wheat died and there was some somehow his field had been contaminated by something from a test plot at some point, you know, that a university or or some private entity was working on. I don't know exactly the story, but no, there is there is no commercially available um GMO wheat.
