WE RECEIVED A MAJOR UPDATE FROM MY DOCTOR ON MY FIBROID SURGERY & FERTILITY!!!
Added:For years, I've been living with fibroids. My MRI showed that my uterus had enlarged to the size of a six-month pregnancy, and the fibroids had distorted it. After months of waiting, the day has finally come. Today is my first oipital appointment to discuss my surgery. This is a huge step in my journey, and I want to take you with me.
So today is the big day, the day that I've been waiting for.
And as you can see, we are inside the car. We are driving to the hospital. I'm a little bit nervous. I was even telling Lou that I've forgotten to start recording my videos >> and it's very early.
>> Yeah, it's very early. By the way, we woke up around 4. Was it 4:00?
>> 4:30.
>> The hospital is not located in our village. We are going somewhere very far and we are on the road and thank God Louis is here to drive us there. Can you say hi to our people?
>> Good morning.
>> Good morning.
Today is my first appointment with the surgeon.
Babe, why did we choose this doctor? The surgeon >> number one.
>> Mhm.
>> He's a professor with an outstanding reputation.
>> Mhm.
>> Professor University Hospital. The best.
Yeah, really played a big part for us to get this doctor because he's always fully booked.
>> Yes.
>> Yeah. The professor will tell us whether I'm fit for the surgery or the best option for me because as we said, I'm very young and when it comes to fibroids, the number one thing that comes into your mind is infertility.
Yes. If you make one mistake, you can regret for the rest of your life.
So that's the reason why we took our time to get the best professor to take us through this journey. It's not a small thing, guys. And um you know, he's going to analyze. Is it analyze or not?
>> He's going to evaluate your MRI.
>> Yes, that's the word I was.
>> And he's going to give you a physical exam. I'm a little bit nervous, curious.
I don't know.
Yes, I feel nervous. But it is what it is, guys. This thing has to be done because my my life has been put on hold. I can't run. I can't do my activities.
It's bad.
So, finally, we're going to find the solution.
And again something that I want to talk about this surgery will depend on the location of the fibroid.
>> Size and location.
>> Yes. Mostly if you want to have babies, right?
>> Yeah.
>> You don't want to lose the possibility of getting pregnant.
>> Yeah.
So it's very important for me guys.
>> But he knows he's a gynecologist.
>> Yes. With a lot of experience. Of course, he has a lot of experience because otherwise you don't get get chosen to be a professor. I just explain it to you before you're recording.
>> Yes.
>> If I was to go there by bus or train, I would have connected, I don't know, two trains.
>> You go to the big city.
>> Mhm.
>> Where you know uh the station better than me.
>> You get on a train and you get off the train next door to the hospital.
>> Yes. But before going to the big city, I need to go to the bus stop.
>> Yeah. which is under 50 m around us.
>> Yes.
>> You know the bus very well.
>> Mhm.
>> It's half an hour and then Yeah.
>> Yeah.
>> A lot more to do. Yes.
>> Yeah. Remember I had the moderate fluid in my uterus, right? Cavity. So that fluid also through this. They're going to see what it is.
So that's something that I was worried about. But I hope everything shall go well or will go well. Of course.
>> Yes. And also because of the size of my fibroids, my organs were being pushed.
And also remember my stomach has been distorted. He told me that the best way I can explain to you your situation.
Look at a mother who is 6 months pregnant. That's the size of your uterus. And that if it continues like that, it can deform your your uterus and that can bring complications when you want to get pregnant. Yes.
>> Have to find the most experienced surgeon whether it's a woman or a guy.
>> Yeah.
Some people are suggesting that and maybe if this is taking time you should go back to Kenya and do your surgery there. Guys, France is a very nice country when it comes to medical. They tell them >> France belongs to the top countries uh in healthcare.
>> In Paris you can find one of the best hospitals in the world number six. So >> yes, it's even better than in my country.
>> In the Netherlands.
Today you put your country down a little bit. Today France is better than Netherlands.
The way Lou is always so so proud to be Dutch.
>> I am.
>> You are very It might take time because of where I stay, but once you get the doctor, I think I'm at the right place.
Yes, I feel that way by the way and also you know right now I can use my card Vital in Kenya with the health insurance it doesn't cover a lot but here with that green card plus my private uh health insurance card I don't need to pay a lot of money right >> you don't have to pay anything >> yes so you see those are the advantages here but in Kenya maybe I could have decided to go to a private tour you know, and it can be super super expensive, but here I'm fully covered.
So, I'm good. Yes, I'm good. And >> yeah, of course.
>> Yeah, we can't wait. We're going to drive for 4 hours to get there. So, it's a long road trip. Maybe I should show you around a little bit as we drive.
Then when we get there, we will update you because today it's a very big day for me after we've seen the doctor. I will come back here and I will update you. Yes. The reason why I'm doing this last time I read a lot of comments about fibroids and you guys were sharing your experiences like it was overwhelming. The radiologist gave me a disc and through that disc this guy the professor is going to watch it and analyze everything.
>> The road is very clear.
>> Clear. This is a new road baby.
>> Yeah, we are on highway.
>> Yeah, this but no they call this officially root national.
>> Okay.
But this is just as exclusive as Nairobi Mombasa Expressway.
This is our first stop. I feel like it's a little bit cold maybe. I don't know.
But still early in the morning. So guys, we just stopped here to take a break a little bit.
Your car is being transported to you very soon. BMW You see, even the sun is coming out.
Yeah. Just wanted to show you this place as we stretch our legs. 43 minutes to our final destination.
I feel a little bit sleepy. I don't know why.
>> Because you woke up very early.
>> Yeah.
>> And driving uh without too much happening is kind of boring.
>> Yes. And again guys, when I was getting ready, I put my lotion, sunscreen on my face. Then I started sweating. I had to go back and wash everything. And now here it's not hot. Like I feel like it's a little bit cold.
Yeah.
Crazy. Maybe this side of France is not too hot.
>> Oh, it's very hot.
>> Okay.
>> But you forgot we have air con.
>> Yes. But also outside it's not hot.
Maybe it's still too early.
>> It's 25°.
>> Yeah, but it doesn't feel like that outside.
>> I know. Because from like 35 40° yesterday.
>> Yes. It was very hot.
>> 25 feels like cool almost.
>> Yeah. What?
So guys, we just parked the car. We need to walk 6 minutes to the hospital. We are almost there. We are on time. This is the hospital.
>> Oh, it's here already.
But the gate, we have to find the gate.
Now the weather is getting a little bit warmer.
Hey, good question.
We've been walking. It's a huge place.
You see where we came from?
Can you give us the the outfit of the day? The shoes from Louis Vuitton. The trouser from >> Louis Vuitton.
>> It's from >> the the shoe makeup.
>> What about the trouser?
>> Italian.
>> Italian. And the shirt?
We tell you >> the bag table >> the watch >> Switzerland >> Switzerland >> Switzerland >> Switzerland the all those brands and you have Teu bag.
>> We are here in the waiting room. We are still waiting.
>> That's why you call it a waiting room.
>> Exactly.
So after this we're going to take you for a walk in this city. We get something to eat. We need to go do some things too. Yeah.
>> Not sure yet then.
>> H >> I'm not sure yet.
>> Sure about >> why are we going to the center?
>> I'm the one making decision today.
>> Guess we are done.
It's a big hospital though.
Yeah, let's go.
So guys, we are going back to where we parked our car.
Now it's getting hot. Oh, you can even eat here.
Nice apartments here. Now we are outside. I think we parked our car.
>> Yeah, guess we trying to figure out where we left our car.
Oh, bike >> walk with us.
You see where we left our car? We made it back.
There are so many apartments here.
Hello.
Saba.
>> Okay. Bye.
>> Bye-bye.
Okay.
Bye.
We are trying to find a place where we can go and eat something before we get on the road. I think after we done eating on our way back home, we're going to try to explain to you everything what's next.
But everything went well. The doctor was really nice, very kind and outspoken.
>> Serious.
>> Yes. This guy has to be very serious because some people can really take advantage of his possessions.
>> Yes. Or him being too nice. But I like the way he was talking >> and uh for a change he actually does speak English.
>> You know in France getting a doctor who speaks English is so difficult and also you were there at least you were understanding everything. He was trying to explain. Yeah. I had two doctors.
Imagine around me. Doctor and the doctor. That was really nice. Oh, guys, let me show you around a little bit as we drive.
>> How many minutes? 11 minutes.
>> Yes. So, we are going to the center by the way. Center of this >> center.
>> Yeah. Center of this >> city center.
Why do we go to sid center >> in Nairobi?
>> Yeah.
>> Is it even possible right now?
>> No.
Everything is possible.
I >> think this a park. Water park. Maybe enjoy the view as we go.
The road is rough.
How many minutes? 7 minutes.
Heat. Heat.
They are bus guys. This is not Paris.
I will tell you later when we are done with everything. I will tell you the name of this city because it's nice. I stopped recording and I was like there are people who love uh street walk so maybe this part is for you.
>> Huh?
>> So for you.
>> We at the center of this city.
We were not supposed to park the car here. But guys, we want to vlog a little bit around as we go get something to eat.
>> First level.
>> Yeah, I think this is the exit.
Let's go outside, guys. Now, oh, when you come, you pay here.
>> Yeah, the ticket.
>> Put the ticket in here.
>> Mhm.
Let's get out now.
Now we are fully outside.
We are at the center.
There are so many restaurants here.
>> How can you go to walking? Why don't we just go over there?
>> Okay, let's go there.
5 minutes walk. You don't want to walk?
>> No.
>> Lou chose a place for burger and now he doesn't want to walk.
Do you think it's too warm outside?
>> It's very warm.
see if you can find your things.
>> So guys, we've decided that we're going to sit here very close to where we parked the car. We're going to have our lunch here.
The driver was nice. He's saying hi to me. Okay, he's still waiting for our food. Let's go for a walk a little bit here. Next time I'm going to bring you guys here and we're going to explore together.
Our food is taking 10 minutes. So, I want to see this side of uh this place before we start eating.
>> I think that's hotel there.
Please let me know if you know the name of the city where we are. If you live in France, I think you can tell through these buildings. Oh, look at the other side. But we can't go far. because our food is almost coming.
Okay, that's it. Let's get back to Louis and enjoy our food. I just wanted to see this side.
We can cross over. Go back.
That's where we are enjoying our lunch.
Let's get back.
>> I think my drink is there.
>> Babe, I came back on time.
>> Yeah, >> this table is very tiny.
Cheers.
>> Our food is here guys. Babe, chicken madras.
>> Yeah, it's national dish in India.
>> Chicken madras. And >> this is how you make yourself.
>> You put on your clothes. Check your clothes.
>> The table is very tiny.
And that's Louis food. Burger.
Your burger looks really good.
>> And the bread.
>> Tasty chicken. So, this is what I always hope after we've been to a restaurant and Ann is eating something new.
>> I cook something like this.
>> Instead of putting ginger in it and I don't know, dead small fish.
M. It's good.
>> There you go.
>> With nuts >> also.
>> Do you like the curry taste?
>> Yeah, it's good. Let's show them the food, not >> me, too. No, it's only uh focusing on your food.
>> Okay.
>> Can I start mine?
>> Yeah.
The food was really good though. I'm full. I want to go to the pharmacy there. There is a cream that I need.
Then we go back. Oh, there's a church.
Yeah, it's a nice church. It looks really good.
Yes, the pharmacy.
There is a cream I'm looking for. You put it on your face and you don't sweat too much because I sweat a lot. My friend told me about it and I think I need to get it because I do sweat a lot and they don't have it.
Let me check.
Okay.
It's a beautiful church.
You come here.
There is no water.
Look at these stairs.
They closed it.
Imagine people who built this. There were no machines, right? Hey, they did a perfect job. Let's go.
It's very peaceful.
That's it.
>> Babe, this is a small one.
>> Yes, kind of small.
>> Yeah, that's it. Now we go check our car.
>> Yeah, but it's beautiful inside though.
kind of sober, huh?
>> Mhm. I think they have renovated it, right?
>> Because the painting looks new.
>> They restored it.
>> Yeah, they have restored it.
Where's the parking? How did we get here or here?
See there is garden there. People sit relax as they wait for the bus to vow.
Excuse.
Let me stop playing and follow Louis.
to pay €240.
Here babe, there you confusing me. Louis is telling me to wait for the ticket from here and it's supposed to be coming out from this part.
You played me.
Come.
So guys, we are saying goodbye to the city. We are leaving.
I've realized that there are so many modern apartments here.
>> Why don't you look at this house? This is amazing.
>> And me, I'm looking for apartments.
>> Yes.
Go silver play.
First the professor was really nice. He speaks English. That was a >> plus actually.
>> Yes. And again before we do anything we want to appreciate Louis for taking his time to take me there because that was very helpful. Yeah because going with the bus and then train it could have been a long journey. My fibroids are big and the only option that we have is to do my omectomy.
>> He basically said we do a laparo.
>> They cut it straight >> because it's a big one.
>> Yeah. Not across like this. they do vertical because of the size of the fibroids. So these doctors, they're usually very very busy. It's so hard to get them. So what we did after we saw the professor, he analyzed everything.
Then I was sent to a nurse whereby I left all my documents, all my information there. So right now I don't know the date of my surgery because that will depend with the doctor's schedule.
>> The most clarifying for you is that he basically thought that the only opportunity to solve your issue was operation.
>> Yes, >> that's it.
>> So what was the other option apart from surgery?
>> Uh emolization.
>> Yes. But he said my >> it's too big. Yes, the fibroids are too big. And another thing which is very important, after this surgery, will I be able to have kids or get pregnant?
>> According to him, it's less than 1% chance >> that you would lose fertility. The multiple fibroids >> Mhm.
>> are located in such a way that it's very difficult to preserve integrity of the inner side of your womb. Yeah, >> because that's what you need for pregnancy. Not the outside, the inside.
>> So after the surgery, I will be able to get pregnant. Yes, >> most likely. Yes.
>> So he said that that fluid there, it's a sign that my ovaries are >> working perfectly.
>> Yes. So no problem. There is no ceased.
There is no something alarming >> because then they would have already seen it on the echography and the MRI.
>> Yes. So yeah, no worries. Which I already told you a thousand time, but >> you're more the worrying type than me.
>> So guys, this went really well. The first thing that came into my mind before getting there, what if this doctor said that that fluid is something to be worried about? Maybe the fibroids have grown too big, that maybe in the future we'll be not able to have kids. I was thinking of something like that. And babe, what did the doctor say? He doesn't know the cause of the fibroids.
>> But they are predominantly seen in African women.
>> Yeah. Black women.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah. That's what he's saying.
>> So we don't know why.
>> No. Even the doctor here doesn't know why.
>> We never knew why.
>> Yes. Even >> it's really nice that the professor even confirms it.
>> Even he doesn't know why.
>> Yes. Guys, I wanted to say this. Louis is so humble. When we got there, Lou didn't even act like he's also a doctor.
He was so humble and just sitting there.
>> I'm not there in the position of being a doctor. I'm there in the position of being your partner.
>> And also, he was just asking general questions. That was really nice.
He was helping me asking questions, too.
Yeah. So, guys, I'm very happy with what happened, everything. So let's wait for them to let me know the date everything what's next and also he told me that after this surgery no gym >> 3 to 6 months I'll find out >> yeah then after that I will be back to my normal duties >> but you can understand that they have to operate more on you >> Mhm.
>> with your fibroid issue then maybe on somebody else your friend from the big city.
>> Yeah. So that's it guys. I'm very happy guys. The fluid was really really stressing me a lot. Every day I would go to Google, YouTube. I just want an answer because I was thinking that maybe you never know because even those people who goes to the hospital then they are told that you have a serious disease you know they don't expect it until >> the bad news hits them. Yes, we still have two more hours to go.
Look how France is very dry right now.
But the roads are very perfect. I think that French government is really doing well in terms of infrastructure >> if you take in consideration the the size of their road network. Mhm.
>> Yeah.
>> We need to go to the dog store and get dogs food. We were supposed to go to the supermarket too, right?
>> For what?
>> For shopping.
>> Need to get some books.
>> Party.
>> Party time.
>> Yes.
>> Party.
>> Any conclusion before the end of this video about everything?
>> No, it went well. Mission succeeding.
>> Yesterday I didn't even sleep. I was overthinking. Even you, you didn't sleep well. Louie has been preparing for this more than me.
Yesterday you went to go to the clinic to print some documents. Then after that, you came back home. You made sure that we went to bed very early. Then the next morning, we had to wake up very early. Thank you so much. And today is on Monday. That's the reason why I do tell you that guys if you're on a dating app looking for a boyfriend or husband get get that one person who can give you freedom and also can support you without Lol in this country it can be so so difficult for me right >> absolutely 100,000% sure >> yes so guys Louis doesn't have a lot to say no Yes, I can't wait for the surgery which I know it will go well. I will get back to normal. I will start going to the gym. I will go to the driving school. I will go back to Kenya.
Yeah, I'm very excited for this. Do you know the only part that was stressing me was that fluid thing. Hey, that was stressing me more than fibroids because with fibroids I know it's not like >> a lifethreatening thing. Yes, that was the part that was giving me stress. But after asking the doctor, the professor and also confirming with Louie, now I'm good. Before Louis said the same thing, but I was like, I just want somebody who has dealt with this before. Louis job is not aligned to that. So, he was giving me some answers, but I was like, I just need to listen to somebody who has dealt with this before.
Yes. So, I'm very happy. It doesn't mean that I don't have to uh >> have knowledge.
>> You have knowledge. But I want someone who has gone through this and has dealt with somebody who has gone through this.
So guys, let's get to the supermarket, go shopping, get the dog's food, then we get back home.
But I'm very tired though. Guys, we are back in our village.
Time to go to the supermarket.
We need to get all here. Put here.
I'm taking this sugar.
Need to duck water.
Guess we drink a lot of water.
>> Don't want to try something new. This one.
Huh? Peach syrup. Yeah.
Where's Paul?
Let's look for Paul.
Paula, today I want to try something new.
>> Look, peach.
>> This is so good. We're going to buy this.
Yeah.
Let's get the dog's food here.
Then we go.
Maybe Sus might love this brush more than the other one because the brush we have for our dogs. See doesn't like it that much.
We need also to buy this for the babe.
Look at this po. Look >> funny.
>> What disturbing porn? Yeah, we need to buy for them a brush like this. This is more soft.
Oh, we are done.
I'm waiting for Lou.
Lou is still there.
Guys, we are back home. I think I'm going to end this video from here. I want to say that thank you so much for always coming back to watch our videos.
Please give the video a like and let me know what you think about everything.
Yes. So, bye. We are back home.
Hey, I'm tired. I'm just going to take a shower and sleep like a baby. Bye guys.
