Your work is MEANINGFUL

[00:00:00]Having a certain self-consciousness about why I do what I do and and how I do it is very very important to me. And and I believe it should be important to all people. It really does lead to a deeper level of gratitude for what you do in your life, what you have in your life, but also greater motivation. Um and and then I think that a little more coherence never hurt anybody. Uh the even if we're just not getting waxing and waning so deep about theology or philosophy, but just at a basic level, when I when someone tells me I put widgets in a box all day for my job and I go and I rephrase it for them and I say, "You mean you add to the products that someone in rural America opens out of a box and go does a certain task with their kids or makes the cooking of dinner easier or it the you know, a widget in a box to one person is a finished product to somebody else." And in the interconnectedness of our economy and the complexity of our economy, there are so few merely routine mundane functions. It can seem that way to people if they don't think through it.

[00:01:13]But when you think through it, you realize that you're playing a role in a process that is actually quite meaningful. And that that's all I'm asking folks to to try to do with a deeper understanding of economics.
