The video provides a sharp reality check on how intermittent reinforcement keeps the brain hooked on the thrill of losing. It effectively exposes gambling as an emotional product designed to bypass rational financial judgment.

Why do gamblers still gamble even when they lose? - Storytime EPIC RANT!!!Added:
What's going on, guys? Welcome to another video, story time salads.
Today, instead of story time Saturday, we're going to talk about gambling. It's a story about gambling, right? This is gambling. We're going to talk about gambling and why we gamble.
Why do you gamble?
Why we go there, get punched in the face, lose our money, go home all upset, all pissed off, and then we show up there again in the hopes of winning something.
Why do we do it? Why?
Everybody that sits there in front of a machine that plays has lost.
You don't win in gambling, guys.
Gambling is not a winning proposition.
Okay? It's not. But we do it. We keep doing it. Why? Is it the chase? Is it the thrill of something bigger? Is it the thrill of, you know, maybe pulling something out of a rabbit magic hat? What is it?
You know, we all want to win. We all want to win big. It's the thrill of the chase. It's the thrill of having fun.
It's a thrill of going there and and hoping for something big, a miracle, but we do it for fun. That's why we do it.
If you can control this, right, it's fun. If you can't control this and if you go there with different intentions intentions of being like your favorite slot channel and hoisting those checks, then you know what?
No, that's not the way to do it.
Gambling is a tricky thing. Slot machines especially, we we play the slots. It's a tricky proposition, but we do it anyway.
Why? because we get a thrill off it. We have fun.
We have fun doing it. I bring up Gerald all the time. The guy I met, I love to sit down with him. The guy I met at Yamova playing in that video where he starts talking to me, right? That my biggest uh win on the channel video on hot pots. Life is a gamble. Look around.
Right. Yeah, gambling is bad. But we do it anyway. Gambling is bad, but we do it anyway. Why? Why do you do it?
Why do you do it? Let me know in the comments. Why do you gamble? Why do all these guys and gals in casinos sit there knowing that they're going to lose gamble?
Answer that question. Leave it in the comments. Why do you do it? If we know we're going to lose, why do we still do it?
Glad I mentioned everything in the beginning. You know, it can be a lot of those things.
That's why we always got to have fun. We got to have fun doing it. We lose more than we win, you know? Uh, hitting a nice hit on a slot machine is like magic.
You got lucky. You pressed the button and it was the right timing. You got the big orbs or whatever. You got the nice major. It feels good. It feels good to get that major. It feels good to get that triple major, right? That triple something. that that amazing major that grand that I've never hit. A lot of you guys in the comments have hit grands, multiple grands.
It just feels good to hit something.
Now, in order for you to do that, you got to play play responsibly.
You know, you go there with a budget. If you lose it, hey, sayanara, you know, all right, we'll try next time. But if you hit a grand, if you hit a major, it's a thrill of something. You want to win.
And if it doesn't happen, it doesn't happen.
You know, I thought I'd make this video because there was a lot of comments, a lot of good ones in my videos about my final video and and all that with the uh the free play redemption video. I'm going to I'm going to touch on that right now. A couple of you guys said something ridiculous.
One guy said, "Hey, this is there's something fishy going on here. Uh, you went back, you lost it, or how in the world did you get exactly what your goal was back?" My brother, I think your name was Craig. If the comment still up, I'm going to put it right here on the screen. My brother, there was nothing fishy about that at all.
How hard is it to plan something like that if there was something going on where I'm just doing it as clickbait like you claim I'm doing it because I want views. I'm doing it because I want comments.
No, dude. No. Everything was real.
Everything was real in that 11 videos.
I'm not smart enough to plan something like that, okay? I'm not. I just go there, right? I put in the damn free play that I got. And hey, Sam Manuel, fine. You gave me the free play in April. $2,600 total free play. I turned it into 3261 or 64.
I got lucky. If it wasn't for video one and video five, none of this would have happened. I wouldn't even gotten close.
You know, video one, I picked the briefcases. I g I got a $400 free play.
If it wasn't for that, none of this I wouldn't even be talking about hitting a goal. I'd probably quit. But that gave me a $1,000, you know, head start.
And I said, "Hey, you know what? Video five, another 600 bucks. It's actually technically 800, but I played the two."
So for you to just type in there in the comfort of your own living room, ah, there's something fishy. There's no way you did this. No way. I just did it.
You're wrong, my friend. you're wrong.
And when you come out and you question my honesty and my transparency, I just have to call you out on that. I just have to call you out because No, you don't get to do that with me because I, like I said, I go out of my way to be transparent on storytime slots. You heard me? I go out of my way to be transparent on story time slots. So, you don't get to do that and not get a response from me right here. You don't get to tell me that, hey, there's something fishy. How can you do that?
Yeah, I just did.
I just did it. I didn't know I was going to do it. It was a magic, but I did it.
and keep doubting, keep hating, whatever. You have a history of leaving negative comments. Once in a while, you'll leave me something positive, but nothing nefarious, nothing deceiving, nothing non-transparent there. It happened. Maybe you're just upset that it happened. Maybe you're upset that I'm I'm actually happy. Who knows?
But whatever.
And there's one other guy. I'll and I'll put the comment in the screen. I don't know if he deleted it. Maybe they deleted it, but I was trying to look for it the other day. But if I find it, I'll post it.
This guy claims that the aft on the machine is not free play. It's automatic transfer from my account at the casino.
First of all, buddy, I got to laugh.
Oh man, I don't think you've played slots with free play at Yamova ever in your life. Hey, all you Yamova players, I know there's a lot of you guys in watching my videos.
Leave it in the comments. What does it say when you load in free play aft, right? Guy was questioning whether I was loading in free play or it was my own money. I had an account at Sam Manuel putting in money through my account. It was cash play. It wasn't. It was free play. Leave it in the comments, guys. This guy is totally wrong. I don't think he's ever played slots in their lives or hadn't played a machine that you don't need cash to play free play.
There's comments saying I I think it was the same dude. You could be a gal. I don't know. But the same person left a comment or somebody else said um what do they say? They said something like you you got to put in money to play free play. You got it. But no, you don't. Not at Yamova. It's not that type of machine. You can go in there with zero in your pocket. Zero. Load your free play without a dollar in your wallet and play your free play. You don't need money to play free play at Yamova. And if you claim that you need money, then you haven't played these type of machines ever in your life. You don't know what you're talking about. And the guy left a comment saying aft, you're using your own money. It's I don't have an account at Samuel. I'm not a high roller like that to have uh you know markers given to me. No.
No. So you don't know what you're talking about. I'll call you out because again guys questioning this guy's questioning my honesty here and I got to call these people out. You know like you haven't played anything in your life and you're calling me out. You don't know what you're talking about. You really don't know what you're talking about. In the future when I play free play, do I have to show you that little screen that says, "Hey, it's free play. I'm gonna put in my pin and and load the free play." I guess I got to do that now. I guess I got to record from like when I uh you know, exit to go to the casino when I leave the casino. I got to record all the way till I get home actually. So people like stop I don't know like secondguessing my honesty. Come on. Give me a break, bro.
Give me a freaking break. Yeah, this is story time Saturday because it's funny.
I'm going to post this. This is a story time because you don't know what you're talking about. And you know the thing is guys, when you go out of your way to be honest and when somebody comes in and says something stupid like that, it just makes me laugh. It does. It doesn't bother me. I mean, it's like I said, it's open discourse, but when you point the fingers and you say, "I didn't do what I did."
No, that doesn't fly. It doesn't fly with me, guys. I got to respond. So, yeah, you know, some of you guys said, "Don't let the haters do this." They don't get to me. Uh, it's just funny to me, that's all. I'll blast them. I'll put them on blast here. Why? Because it's stupid what they say and they have to be called out for it.
They do. It's just it's ridiculous.
Some people question, "Why did you Excuse me. How did you get $2,600 of free play? You must be betting $30,000."
No. No.
Yeah, there was some off camera play in February, but nothing to justify that. I mean, I guess it was uh generous. Yamova was being very generous to me, and I'll take it. I'm taking it.
$175. I showed you. You want me to show you everything? I'll show you this the app. I'll show you when I load in the free play next time. So, you can't just This guy was wondering if this was even free play. Give me a break, man. You haven't played at Yamama. You haven't played at slot machines where you don't need a single dollar of your own money.
So, don't come at me like that and expect for me to just ignore that. No, I'm not going to ignore that because I know the truth. And the truth is what you see on the screen. Don't be mad that I got that much free play and you didn't. Yeah, you didn't because maybe your casino doesn't have promotions like Yamaba does. And I'm not trying to promote Yamova. I think their slots are super tight. There's a lot of things they can do to improve, you know, the odds of the player. Their slots are super tight. And I got my own gripes about that cuz you know, um, yeah, I'll be venturing out to other places and playing other places, too. I don't have loyalty there or anything like that.
They don't do anything special for me.
Yeah, they gave me some free play, but there was a lot of effort to use that free play. I don't live right next door to the casino. I got to go there 12 times to utilize $2,600 of free play.
Strategize $200 here, 250 there, 400 here, 200 there. You know, I I I mapped it out. I strategized. Now, in May, they're giving me 175, like I said, right? I got to go there once a week. If there's gift cards, I'll do it again.
There's no goal. There's nothing this time. But I was fortunate enough to hit that goal. I was fortunate enough to hit that goal and I'm lucky and I pocketed everything that I showed you on the screen. Yeah, I made two videos already and you saw they were both freaking losers. They weren't big losers. Second one was bigger than the first, but that's gambling, guys. That's slots. You don't win every time. All right. And I accept that. But we go there. We still go there and we still gamble because it's fun. And if you could do it responsibly.
Sorry, I'm checking if I'm still recording. If you could do it responsibly, then all power to you, man.
You know, it's your money. It's your decision. We're not kids here. We're not children. We're over 21.
And you know, it's free will.
Just because you don't gamble doesn't mean that others should follow your same life or principles.
You know, a lot of people here, they treat this as a fun night out. And sometimes they do get lucky. And if they get hooked on a $20,000 grand, they give it all back. Oh well, that's their life.
That's their decision.
Don't judge somebody because, hey, they went and they dumped it all back. That's gambling, guys.
Look around. Like Gerald says, the guy I met, I want to track that guy down. I want to interview him. He was he was that old school guy that I love.
Spitting facts.
And man, I understand, man. Some people just they think everything's a lie and and you're not telling the truth. And I get it, you know. I get it. But the only thing that just gets to me is that when you know you're telling the truth and when you know you did everything right and this is the truth and when somebody says you're lying, that's that's the moment where it it it doesn't hurt, but it's like it's unfortunate. It's unfortunate that people have to second guess what you're showing them, second guess that you're not telling the truth and when you are, you know. So that's just me, guys. I mean, I guess I'll be a little more transparent. I got to show you the little screen. Hey, and how do you know how much free play you have left? It says on the little square, it says you have this much free play left. It there's a little countdown. All right.
And it tells you exactly how much free play left that you have on when you're spinning.
I read a comment, one guy's like, "How do you know you're a mathematician where you know exactly how much free play you have left?" No, it tells you on the little screen.
So, yeah. Why am I making this video?
Because I want to. Because I really want to just address this because some guy might read this ridiculous comment and believe him. No, I got lucky. How it was exactly almost to the tea of my goal, I don't know. It's just the way it happened. It went down to the wire.
It went down to the damn wire and I made some money. Had I gotten that six orbs at the high limit room in the dragon cash machine, I would have been up for 600 bucks. What a what an ending it would have been. But I didn't. I was still up. I got 50 bucks out of that machine. That made me up 646 $61 of the challenge. And I take it, we made it. I did it. And I'm proud of it, guys.
I'm proud that I had the balls to actually get up and leave. A guy that loves playing slots. A guy that's just uh dying to put money in. But no, I curbed that appetite. I took I was strong enough. I got the the guts to get up right and to leave every single time except for once.
And you know why?
I'm proud of it, guys. I'm proud of it.
And no one's going to take that away from me because I did it. People second guess it, go for it. I don't care.
But hey, you want to second guess what I do, go ahead.
I know what I do and I feel good about doing it. So, people enjoy what I did.
Maybe people are mad that I won money.
Maybe people are mad that I I had the actual strength to get up and leave.
It takes a lot, guys. It takes a lot to do what I did. And it not everybody could do it. I thought I wasn't going to be able to do it to be honest with you.
You know, to be honest with you, I love playing slots and I didn't know I was going to have the strength to do this and I did.
So, why we gamble?
Because we like it. Because we have fun with it. Because guys, gambling, especially slots, it's a very expensive hobby. If you treat it as a hobby, it costs a lot of money to do. It's not cheap because there are days where you just can't buy a bonus. There are days where you lose more like crazy, you know? You just have to be strong enough to just say, "Hey, this was fun. I'm getting up. I'm leaving now."
That's why we do it. We chase. We We're going for something big. the the the feeling of making the feeling of hitting a grand and having all that cash afterwards to do whatever the hell you want.
That's what we do it for. We chase it, but we allocate the funds to do it. We allocate a funds. You know, I'm going to take $1,000, make videos, or let's say somebody that doesn't have a channel takes $1,000 just to have fun, just to go gamble. It's it's their money. It's not your money that you have an issue with it. It's their freaking money. They can do whatever they want. They can go on the street and give it away.
It's their money. They can do whatever the f they want with their money. And who are we to judge anybody? They're not committing any crime. If they're not, you know, lying, cheating, stealing to gamble. It's their hard-earned money that they're putting in that machine.
Then they earned it. They could do whatever the hell they want with it. You can go down the street right here. You can put you can light the the your money on fire. I think it's illegal to do that, but still it's your money. You can go blow it on expensive watches. You can blow it on cars. You could blow it on jewelry. Uh you whatever expensive dinners, vacations. Who are we to judge somebody what they do with their own money? I get comments sometimes like, "Hey, there's people starving. Why are you gambling?"
I feel bad for these people, right? But I'm not a politician. These politicians are the ones that they should worry about that. You know, there's there's there's fixes for all that stuff. But this is not the profession I'm in, right? I feel bad for people. And I give a lot to my community. I give my time. I give my uh profession. What I do, I donate my time. There are things that I do that no one knows about. You know, whether it's somebody asking for money, they want food, I go buy them a burger.
I I do a lot for the community. I give out my time and my efforts to uh fund raise for these kind of causes with my photography. I do that all the time.
Somebody holding a sign in the corner, I give them a couple bucks. But it's not my job to Oh, just because there's some stuff going on, there's a lot of things going on in life.
That means we can't gamble. That means we can't have fun with our money. That means that what kind of comment is that to leave me? Like there's people starving. Why are you gambling your money?
How is that going to make me not have fun with my money? Tell me.
Tell me. I almost want to say, is it my problem? Yeah. I mean, like I said, like I said, I give away a lot. I work hard for my money and I can do whatever the hell I want with it. and so can you.
And if you can't afford to gamble, don't. No one's forcing you, guys. No one's forcing us to go and put put money in a slot machine. We do it because we like it. We do it from our own free will.
You know, yeah, I accept losses all the time. I accept my losses.
I get mad that this the machine was stingy. The machine was tight. This casino sucks. I'm not coming here again.
I'm quitting gambling. But then guess what? You sleep it off. You wake up and you want to do it all over again. And who knows, maybe next time you'll win.
That's the characteristics of somebody that treat treats it as a hobby that knows what they're getting into. They could lose. They're upset. Sure.
If it gets destructive, if you're taking money that you shouldn't, like nobody likes losing money, guys. Like nobody likes having less money than they did the day before. But obviously there are things where we need to like understand here. There's a destructive gambler that loses his check money and his bill money and is screwed.
They shouldn't have done that. And then there's people that have the money gamble it away upset, but then they'll be okay the next day because either they have money to pay the bills or they have money coming in and this was fun money.
This was disposable money. This was, you know, that kind of money.
And that's the category that I'm in.
Do I go overboard all the time? Sure.
Sometimes I do. Sometimes I regret what I did, but then I bounce back. I take some time off. There was destructive moments in my high limit days. You know the story about my commerce casino poker days where I spit in the place and never went back. I never went back to Commerce Casino because I said, "You know what? This is not for me." I saw the people in there.
I saw the faces.
I'm not I'm not part of them. Like, I'm not This is not the kind of guy I am pulling their hair out, punching their face. Like, I saw one guy just punching himself because he lost money.
Banging. I saw one guy banging his head against the the the the wall outside of the casino because he lost money, started bleeding.
I've seen a lot of things like that.
That's destruction. That should be you need help when it comes to that. But there are people in the middle that enjoy it. They take the responsibility of losing.
They bounce back and it's okay. You know, it is it's gambling, man.
Like Gerald says, look around.
Everything is gambling. They screw you with everything here, especially in California. Look at the gas. Look at the cost of living here. And now they're thinking about taxing the miles that you drive because you know what? Ga taxing the gas a gallon of gas is not enough.
They're thinking about ga taxing the miles that you drive. You think that's fair? There's a lot of BS that we do that we pay into. We pay so much property tax. Look at all these potholes.
Like, come on.
There's a lot of things that are screwed up in life, but we have to deal with them.
You know, we go work whatever 8 hours a day, pay our bills, be a responsible human being in society, and if we enjoy gambling, if we're responsible, no one should tell us how to spend our money. I like everything, guys. I spend my money on everything. gambling, you know, going out, you know, fancy restaurants. Yeah.
Do I think that paying $30 a drink at a restaurant, an old-fashioned, is a lot of money? Sure. But I do it because it's convenient. I do it because that's the only option. I do it because I enjoy it.
People buy $30,000 Rolexes. Would they do Do you think they need that Rolex?
No. You can tell time with your phone or your Cassio watch.
By the way, who's had that uh Casio?
Remember that Casillo watch? That's that uh 50 meter resistant watch. G-Shock. It was called G-Shock, man. I had one of those. I don't know what I did with it.
It was my childhood watch. I'd wear that watch every every day.
I love that thing, man. G-Shock.
Remember that?
You can tell time with that. You can tell time with anything. But some people enjoy buying these expensive time pieces because that's what they do. That's you have only one shot at this life and this life. Not talking about the afterlife. I'm talking about this life.
There are things that you can enjoy right now if monetary you. It lets you and people do them all the time. People buy expensive cars. You think you need that Porsche that you have in your garage, that 911 GT4, GT3. Do you need that Porsche?
No, you don't. But you enjoy it. You enjoy it.
I go out to uh a place where they sell very expensive boutique label movies. Do I need to pay $50 for a movie? No, I could just stream it somewhere. But I enjoy the packaging. I enjoy the whole having the artwork, the box, you know, I enjoy that. Somebody took time in their talents and and schedule to make that artwork and I like paying into that system, you know. So, you can't tell people how to gamble, how to enjoy their lives, what to do with their money if it's not destructive.
That's why I always tell people in my videos, man, gambling is a losing proposition. Gamble responsibly. Don't get influenced by what I'm doing here.
You know, I can afford to put $5 a spin or $10 a spin. I'm very, very, very different from my high roller days.
Was I a degenerate in the past? Sure. I do degenerate things.
But I pretty much found out a way to not be that degenerate guy anymore.
I I found out how to turn this gambling thing into a responsible fun thing. Yes, of course we still get pissed. We still get we rant. We still get upset when we lose, but that's just part of the game. That's just part of the damn game.
Near misses. Do they piss you off? They piss me off. One orb away from hitting a $10,000 major. Is that fair? No. But it's part of the damn game. One orb away from hitting that grand finally. And if I do come close to hitting that grand, right, guys? If I do come close to hitting that grand ever in my life, right? And if it's flashing and I don't hit it and because I I've heard, you know, first of all, it has to be well, it doesn't have to be flashing. The last box, if you don't know what I'm talking about, Dragon Link, all these link games, lightning, the last orb, the last circle or whatever the the amount, you have to get all the boxes in order to get the grand, right? Sometimes, I mean, if it's flashing, you have more of a chance to hit the grand, but it doesn't flash all the time. It doesn't flash all the time. You can still get it when it doesn't flash, but chances are that you're going to get it. Not that you're going to get it, but the chances are bigger if it flashes right on the little box.
It's not 100%. Now, it's never I'm trying to think it's if it's ever flashed. Yeah, I think it flashed once for me one time and it I didn't get it.
But that would really suck. And that would really piss me off if that last orb and dragon link was flashing a lot and I didn't get it. That would really suck. That's a super near miss that I would want to forget and never want to relive.
And now that I live through, right?
Relive. No, it hasn't happened to me.
But now that I said that, it's probably going to happen to me. But that's a near miss. We just That's part of the game, guys. We get upset if it happens. We get pissed off, but it's all part of the game. They're programmed in there. But we still go and we still try. We still go. We lose money. Why do we do it?
Well, look at this dog walker over here.
That's cool. Look at how many dogs, guys.
That's a cool shot. That's a cool picture, actually. That's pretty cool, guys.
That dog walker.
H. That's pretty cool.
Anyway, that was worth me stopping the video. Um, what an enjoyable thing, man. Walking a dog, six dogs all together, walking in unison, enjoying a very beautiful day out could be a hobby of yours, walking your dog, you know, could be a part of your life.
Like I said, guys, there's a lot of retirees that all they live for is gambling.
Don't take that away from them.
You know, of course, like I said, gambling can be destructive. If you're one of those that is ruining your life because of it, you should stop right away, but don't, you know, paint everybody in the same brush. That's all I'm going to say. We do it because we want. We do it because we enjoy it. Sure, the losses are are bad, but then we're back at it again.
You know, we're back at it again. So, we just chase something bigger than we could imagine to get. It's the thrill of the chase. It's the thrill of the hunt, the thrill of having going in there with freaking thousand bucks and walking out of there with a hundred,000 bucks, you know? It's just It could happen. It's the chances are very rare, but it Hey, it all it takes is one spin and you're back, baby. You're back.
So, that's a storytime Saturday for you guys today. I don't know. Uh I basically just um give you my thoughts and opinions about why we gamble, why we go there and and and try our luck again and again and again even though we lose all the time.
You know, it's an expensive thing. It costs a lot of money to have that fun because we nine out of 10en times we lose our money. But it's expensive. The thrill of the chase is expensive. The thrill of the hunt cost a lot of money, but so does everything else. So does living. Living costs a lot of money.
Have you been to the grocery store lately? Have you been clothes shopping lately? Have you bought a pair of shoes lately? Have you bought a car, a house?
Don't even get me started.
Don't even get me started. This house right here, probably two million bucks.
$2 million.
One story. Beautiful neighborhood.
two million bucks.
So that's it. Thanks for listening to me today. Have a great weekend and rock and roll. I'm in a good mood, guys. I'm in a good mood, you know.
Don't think I'm in a bad mood because I don't let anybody's comments get me in a bad mood. I just laugh at it. I just laugh at people accusing me of not being honest. That's all. That's all.
That's all. Hey, you know what they say, guys. You can't please everybody. You can't please I don't care if you probably walk on water, you still can't please everybody. So, for those that get it and for those that appreciate what I do here, then you you guys are why I do this thing. You know, like I said, even the haters, without haters, there there wouldn't be a slot channel because this is a controversial thing that we do. This is something that there's a lot of people that don't like it. And there's a lot of people that look at playing the slots as something taboo or something that, hey, look at you. You're a bad person.
You know, you're a bad person. What's going on here? My chair started moving.
That's probably a sign. Um, there's a lot of people that take drugs.

Know your limits. Be in control. I know it's hard sometimes. I'm not in control and and and it gets to me, but I know my hard limits. My soft limits probably if I was like I had a goal of not going over 500 bucks and I do go over that that's fine. I have another limit that I set myself that's a hard limit where I don't pass that. I don't pass that hard limit. I I made a promise to myself years back after I quit high rolling with my own money that I said I'm never passing a hard promise again. And I've I've been doing that you know again. You might see me get pissed off on occasion.
