[00:00:16]The Dimapur police stated that they [music] have arrested two individuals and constituted a special investigation team to probe the alleged assault of a minor girl according to an official press note issued by the office of the Commissioner [music] of Police today.

[00:00:31]The case was registered by the Dimapur women police station following a formal written FIR lodged [music] by the guardians of the minor victim on May 25th, 2026.

[00:00:42]They have registered [music] the case under section 64 2 FIM 65 1 71 and 74 of the BNS read [music] with section 6 of the protection of children from sexual offenses or the POCSO Act.

[00:00:57]Following the statements provided [music] by the victim to the IO, the investigating officer, the police arrested two accused individuals, O Watimeren Jamir, 43 years of [music] age, resident of Lingrijan, Dimapur, and village [music] of Unger.

[00:01:14]The second accused, Tok Timongba Ao, a resident of Razaphe Industrial Village, [music] Dimapur, and village Sangratsa.

[00:01:22]Both accused were produced before the court and have been remanded to police custody for rigorous interrogation.

[00:01:30]The press statement [music] further stated that given the extreme sensitivity of the matter, the police department has established the SIT to ensure a thorough and comprehensive investigation. [music] The team is being headed by a senior police officer. The Dimapur police assured the public that the investigation [music] is progressing rapidly and meticulously in strict adherence to procedural requirements.

The police further explicitly warned that disclosing the identity [music] of a minor victim is a serious criminal offense punishable under Section [music] 72 of the BNS, Section 23 of the POCSO Act, and Section [music] 74 of the Juvenile Justice Act.
