Biology is Replacing Petrochemicals | Pacifico Biolabs, Mykor, StrainX Bioworks

[00:00:00]Good news. Biology is replacing petrochemicals. It couldn't come at a better time. This week in Conscious Tech, we have three startups, three industries, one pattern. First is Pacifico Biolabs. They are working on mycelium. Yes, another use case for mycelium, fermented in idle German brewery tanks. This is whole cut protein and no purpose-built bioreactors. They raised 7 million euros. Next, we have Mycore. They are developing insulation panels grown from agricultural waste.

[00:00:32]That's a direct substitute for petroleum-based building materials. So, think construction. Non-combustible, female-founded, 4 million pounds. And last but not least, we have String BioWorks. They are doing precision fermentation, producing nutritional ingredients that would otherwise require conventional agriculture or synthetic chemistry. They just exited stealth and they raised 13 million US dollars. So, engineered biological systems are now doing the work that extraction and petrochemistry used to do.
