Zero shadow day is a rare astronomical event where the sun reaches exactly 90° overhead at a specific location, causing shadows to disappear completely; this phenomenon only occurs at the precise moment when the sun is directly overhead, and can only happen between the Tropics of Cancer and Capricorn.

With the sun at 90° shadows vanishAñadido:
Okay, what does this mean? Thank you, Michael Carelli. The zero shadow day from Honolulu, Hawaii.
Just minutes ago at 6:28 in Honolulu, shadows disappeared. Laane noon is what it's called. It's also referred to zero shadow day. It happens for a couple of minutes at the exact spot on Earth where sunlight hits down at 90°. Only places between the tropics of Cancer and Capricorn can experience this.
