Trump wants a gag order for every single government worker

[00:00:00]Donald Trump has rolled out a new blockbuster non-disclosure agreement or NDA. This time it's not for an ex-wife or a porn star, but the entire federal government. Every single civil servant he now wants to sign an NDA. The administration rolled out this proposed rule for this blanket government-wide gag order this week. And to be clear, civil servants are already legally prohibited from disclosing lots of confidential information, classified information, information related to national security, private tax records, health records, and so on. So, it's not really clear what problem Trump is trying to solve here other than to terrify civil servants out of reporting suspected law-breaking and exercising their whistleblower rights, which the Trump administration has been steadily degrading. That's what this is about.
