[00:01:33]>> I mean, I'm talking about a superpower that's real and happens in our in our actual reality. Yes. Which is having $100 million to do whatever you want with.

[00:01:49]>> Right. Right. Okay. So, I did want to talk about that. Uh, yeah. So, I mean, a couple things I wrote down is like, but stuff we've already talked about before.

[00:01:57]They're going to be doing stunts in this. He's like bailing out of car. He bailed out of like four cars in this and was fine.

[00:02:04]>> Yeah. He's learned. He's He's done it so much.

[00:02:06]>> Yeah. He knows.

[00:02:07]>> He's got like skin now. Yeah. His body's adapted.

[00:02:11]>> Yeah. I also wrote already branding.

[00:02:12]There was noticeably more branding in this one than some of the previous.

[00:02:17]>> Even at the very end, I noticed when they were all hanging out at their uh you know, once a movie party.

[00:02:24]>> Yeah. Well, Coca-Cola. That's true. Cuz at the beginning there was a can >> in >> Oh, yeah. They used He's Yeah, he's drinking the Coke and then he's like, you know, you could use that to do this ridiculous thing that's going to help me win the race.

[00:02:37]>> Yeah. You don't know, but you don't know but later it's going to win the race.

[00:02:40]>> This is really important.

[00:02:42]>> Yeah. Yeah.

[00:02:42]>> Like we used to do this all the time.

[00:02:44]Like make what is essentially a car grenade. Okay. Cool. Dom.

[00:02:49]>> Yeah. That opening race was kind of awesome because for a couple reasons. We don't get another one. We don't get like another race in this movie. Right.

[00:02:58]Right. Because so they have to be like, "See, it's still Fast and Furious, right? We're still racing cars." Because once in a while they lose the plot there and they're just sort of like, "Yeah, we're about stopping a nuclear war."

[00:03:08]which this movie is about. But, you know, it's they they have to they have to squeeze the the racing in.

[00:03:14]>> Yeah. I mean, they there's there's some things that we have noted every single time and they continue to do it. One, butt shots. Two, four girls for every guy. Three, Dom is going to go to your city and rep that city and you're going to have some girl throw down the flag or whatever and there's going to be a race and it's going to be like this race represents X place. Yeah. And >> so in this case it was Cuba >> and they were there I guess the premise is they were there for the honeymoon >> of Dom and Letty.

[00:03:46]>> And also Dom's cousin lives there.

[00:03:49]>> I guess so.

[00:03:50]>> Never mentioned again.

[00:03:51]>> Never mentioned again. And honestly Dom probably has cousins around the world.

[00:03:55]>> And uh yeah, it's he has to, you know, race the guy >> who has the fastest car on the island which makes him the most dangerous for some reason.

[00:04:04]>> For some reason. And everyone's like, "THAT'S THE FAST CAR GUY."

[00:04:07]>> POSSIBLY a lone shark. We We're not really sure.

[00:04:10]>> Yeah. Well, it's interesting because he's like, "Oh, you know, you got to repay your debts to his cousin."

[00:04:15]>> And then the guy is like, "Yeah, he's going to keep paying or whatever."

[00:04:18]>> And then Tom's like, "What do you mean by that?"

[00:04:21]>> Like, "He gave you the car, man." Like that kind of thing.

[00:04:24]>> And so that's why he has to race him because it's about respect. Which of course it is because once he beats him, he he's going to give Dom his car and he's like, "No, man. Your respect is enough." which to me says >> he has grown into his role as a superhero.

[00:04:39]>> Yes.

[00:04:40]>> He's now he's now better than just being a street racer.

[00:04:43]>> Yes. Well, I also like that he didn't just solve his problem with money where I was thinking I'm just like Dom, you have like $100 million. Like couldn't you just like pay the guy's car?

[00:04:52]>> Technically, he did cuz at the end when he destroyed his cousin's car by driving it backwards on fire.

[00:04:57]>> Yes, he did give him his new car.

[00:04:59]>> He did give him that beautiful car which is probably a lot of money. And when you're Dom, that doesn't matter to you.

[00:05:04]>> Doesn't matter, right? Family comes first, which we'll talk about later in the movie.

[00:05:09]>> It's a lot easier to to love your family when you've got millions of dollars.

[00:05:12]>> That's true. That's so true. Um, also I do want to bring up he's a man of the people again. Like it was a great call back to that moment in the first movie where he's like working the crowd and like everybody loves Dom. Yeah. Like and she even says um the villain of the movie says like the Robin Hood thing is really doing it for you, you know? like he very much is like establishing that Robin Hood style persona for himself.

[00:05:35]>> They've been building that for the last few movies.

[00:05:37]>> Oh yeah, absolutely.

[00:05:38]>> And I'm sure they tried to do that with the first couple, but he's very clearly just a criminal. I will say the shot of him where he like he rolls out of the car and he's on the street and he wins the race. They could have had big booty ladies. They could have had his his boys running up. No, >> it's the kids. The kids are >> which again establishes him as like of the people. It's normal people run up to normal people. I love that in the end he like wins the race going backwards by just like a nose and then he sees the people HE'S LIKE, "OH SHIT." AND HE HAS to like turn the car, fly it off the cliff, they broke that they blew up that car.

[00:06:12]>> There's a moment you mentioned and I thought it was really fun. Yeah.

[00:06:15]>> There's a lot of shots that are filmed very similar to the 3.5 thing when they were in uh >> Yeah, that's Oh, I forgot about that.

Which is honestly pretty fun because it shows the >> the lighting is similar to that. And also the way that they shoot it with like the flowing drapes or whatever.

[00:06:46]>> And it's Fast and Furious. This isn't like, you know, this isn't the most uh prestigious franchise.

[00:06:52]>> What are you talking about, Jesse? This is the most prestigious film franchise in cinematic history. But with all of that said, >> I'm not joking.

[00:07:07]There is a level of continuity and care for these films. While they are insane, >> they are like, "Oh, remember this character, bringing them back to do this. Oh, this person does this. Oh, this shot, we're going to shoot it like that. Oh, we're going to do this thing."

[00:07:21]They consistently do it in a way that shows me someone probably Vin Diesel loves this franchise.

[00:07:29]>> Yeah. And I mean he is a producer on it, right? So like basically he's >> this is 100% his baby. He >> is his baby. And I think it just he just loves working with these people, right?

[00:07:39]Like it's it's >> except for The Rock. I hear they do not like each other at all.

So, um I've been watching a lot of uh or I watched that there's a Red Letter Media uh video where it's like they rank all the Sam Ramy movies and they were saying like I noticed all of these random actors just come back for all of Sam Ramy's movies.

[00:08:13]like this guy, this person in this who had like a bit part is like this person and this and he like keeps coming bringing her back.

[00:08:20]>> Yeah, exactly. And so it must be like that kind of thing where just like The Rock just really or sorry um um Vin Diesel just really likes working with >> these people and they're just really fun. So he just keeps bringing them back and keeps bringing them back.

[00:09:05]>> Yeah. Well, also it's important because they set up the whole thing where Dom is like, "Well, you know, maybe how would you feel about having a kid?" Yeah. You know, uh, and then Hobbs, we get, we find out Hobbs's first name, which I don't think they'd ever said before.

[00:09:46]>> Yeah. Uh, and so we got The Rock doing the haka with his daughter's soccer team. They they like he like doesn't want to do it anymore.

[00:09:56]I think all of them >> are doing what probably anyone who has been stuck in this world since 2001.

[00:11:00]Um, then we smash cut to the botched Berlin job, right?

[00:11:54]Um, then do well but also Dom is given this you know evidence. We don't know what it is and >> Yeah. When he's when he's in Cuba, Charlie Thein shows up with dreads.

[00:12:06]>> And she's like, "Dom, you're going to work for me." And she shows him something.

[00:14:00]I also love the giant plot hole of Shaw getting the stun baton and shocking like the light in front of his cell and then that opens every cell. Yeah, it's classic. Also, I did mention this in the watch through. I think that's the Guardians of the Galaxy prison set. I I could be imagining this, but I would love to know if it's either that prison set or in the second uh Deadpool movie when the kid goes to the like mutant detention facility. feels more like that.

Then Dom is going to use the EMP to blast the Russian facility to take a sub that has the nukes that she can then use to threaten the world if they ever get I guess her plan is she's like the the governments of the world they're bad people so I'm going to make them pay for being bad >> okay based but maybe don't use the nukes to threaten to kill a bunch of people but anyway >> but but all like that nuke it they establish from her that she is the one behind everything for the last two movies and this one.

[00:19:06]>> So the whole Shaw one and Shaw 2 plots were entirely her.

[00:19:13]>> And in those movies Oh, it was about God's I was about to say what was her objective? It was about God's eye. So no matter what, she was trying to get God's eye the entire time.

[00:19:22]>> Those Yeah. Yeah. And the nightshade thing, the the EMP thing was from that was from the one with Owen. With Owen Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So she >> Okay. So she's been trying to do this for a I like You know what?

I wrote, "What is happening with five exclamation points?" But I don't remember what that was in context to.

And so he goes there and she helps him by basically hacking into every computerized car in the city, which we were talking about during the movie was a real thing people thought was going to happen. So they just threw into this movie and she makes a zombie horde of cars that crashes into the limo that the dignitaries into. And during that moment, you said when you said it got crazy, I didn't know we'd get to hear. And here we are. It's absolutely a thing we The crash is incredible looking, but it's insane. But then the reason you said multiple exclamation points >> is because immediately after that, Dom shows up looking like a character from, you know, like I don't even know, Payday. He drills.

[00:21:21]>> Yeah. He looks like he looks like the character from one of the Avengers movies where they're like they stop him at the beginning. Yes.

[00:21:28]>> He's got the mask on. I don't remember who it is. It's the guy who who uh it's Frank Gill, I think, is the actor.

[00:21:35]>> And so they he gets the the codes and then they chase him down and they do a whole like hook shot into his car and he breaks free.

[00:21:44]>> And then the reason you freaked out is cuz then he pulls out his gun and blast Shaw.
