The Industrial Revolution created stark social divisions, with wealthy residents living in clean, luxurious West End areas while workers in the East End endured harsh conditions including 12-14 hour workdays, dangerous factories, child labor, and severe pollution from coal smoke and industrial emissions.

Time Travel Vlog|I traveled back to 1880s London!Added:
Hey guys.
Oh my god, it happened again.
I just time traveled to London in the 1880s.
The height of the Industrial Revolution.
Wow.
Look at this place.
The air is so thick with smoke, I can barely breathe.
The smell of coal and sulfur is everywhere. My hoodie has already started to turn gray, and I've only been here for 2 minutes. Today I'm going to explore the East End, visit a factory.
It's so crowded here and a little dirty, but fascinating. You can really see the insane contrast between rich and poor just by looking around here. It's unbelievable. And and I might try to warn some people about what's coming.
This is going to be intense.
Let's go.
I'm currently walking through the East End and it feels truly amazing.
The streets are muddy, there's horse manure everywhere, it's absolutely disgusting.
And the noise, fam. Carriages, vendors shouting, factories humming in the distance. It's truly amazing.
The smell is actually insane.
Coal smoke, sewage, and something burnt.
I feel like I need a gas mask right now.
Look at these buildings, Tay.
All covered in black soot.
Look at this. Women washing clothes in dirty water and kids are playing in the street with almost no shoes on.
It's really something else.
I just bought this meat pie from a street vendor. It smells absolutely incredible.
I can't wait to try it.
Mhm. Okay, it's actually pretty decent.
It's savory and delicious, very filling.
Mhm. It's really good.
Everywhere I look, there are children working or selling things.
Life here is really tough.
Okay, I'm now standing outside a large textile mill. You can see the smoke and workers behind me.
The building is enormous and everything is covered in soot.
Look at all these chimneys pumping out smoke non-stop.
Look at the size of this place.
The machines inside never seem to stop.
Hundreds of people work here every day.
They work 12 to 14 hours a day, 6 days a week.
The conditions here are truly heartbreaking.
These children, so young, work tirelessly in this brutal industrial setting. This is heartbreaking to see in real life.
I knew about child labor from history books, but seeing it with my own eyes is completely different.
These children should be playing, not working in dangerous factories. The air inside is filled with cotton dust and thick smoke. It's truly a sight to behold, though difficult to breathe.
It must be terrible for their lungs.
The noise in there must be unbearable.
Long hours, dangerous machines, and terrible air quality.
Many workers won't live long because of this.
Progress always has a price.
But seeing it up close is heavy.
The fog is incredibly thick tonight.
We're traveling through the East End.
And it feels like we've stepped back in time. Okay, I've walked a few miles west and then wow.
Just look at this. The environment is changing so fast. I'm so impressed with how clean these streets are. You know, I have to say the streets here are also much cleaner than I expected. Look at this.
>> [laughter] >> Beautiful carriages, elegant buildings, well-dressed people. It's literally like two completely different cities in one.
Just a few miles away from the East End and everything is so different.
Welcome back everyone. Today we're indulging in some classic Victorian afternoon tea at this absolutely stunning, elegant restaurant. This tea is absolutely lovely. It's the perfect temperature.
I am now standing on a bustling square.
This must be the West End.
The rich are really benefiting from the factories.
The gap between rich and poor is much more extreme than I imagined.
The wealthy are living in luxury while workers suffer on the other side of the city.
I'm standing near some workers finishing their long shift.
I'm going to try something.
I know I probably can't change history, but I still have to try.
Excuse me. I know this is going to sound completely crazy, but in the future, this coal smoke and pollution will make a lot of people very sick.
And children shouldn't have to work in dangerous factories like this.
You all deserve much better working conditions and shorter hours.
They're looking at me like I'm completely mad.
I knew it wouldn't work, but actually trying and failing feels different.
>> [snorts] >> The Industrial Revolution was one of the most important periods in human history.
It gave us technology, trains, mass production, and uh eventually much higher living standards for many people.
These were real people with dreams, families, and struggles.
London in the 1880s was dirty, noisy, filled with smog. Life was unimaginably difficult.
Moreover, the gap between the rich and the poor is also very large, truly eye-opening.
Thank you for this experience.
And looking forward to the next trip.
