AI technology can be used to manipulate video evidence in legal proceedings, potentially altering a person's behavior or appearance to change the outcome of a case; this case demonstrates that even Ring camera footage can be edited, and individuals must remain vigilant about digital evidence authenticity, as the best evidence rule requires original files but does not prevent sophisticated AI manipulation.

A RING VIDEO ALMOST STOLE HER LIFEAdded:
the fact that someone was able to submit a fake altered AI video of me and submit it as evidence in a court of law and a judge not be able to see?
Greetings AD&C family.
Today we're back with another episode.
Did you see what she said? This young lady just said that AI pretty much almost sent her to prison for 5 years.
Let's talk about it.
Now, first of all, the woman introduced herself and she wanted to just share something and before we go forward, I just want to say thank goodness that this woman was not found guilty of whatever she was in court for, but she was smart and she knew what was not her rightful look-alike. She knew something was AI, she knew something was wrong and obviously she proved it. So, we're going to talk more about this. So, this lady is out of California. She's involved in a court case and she says that she saw footage that was submitted by an attorney. It was a fake evidence that was, you know, given to the judge.
The judge actually could not decipher if it was real or fake, but she could and she actually, you know, fought it and thank goodness that she was okay with the case, but it's interesting what they altered. So, let's take a look more and see what they altered in the video and we'll be right back. I was looking at the video. The video was an actual recording of a chain of events. However, that is not how the night went.
I appeared, my eyes look so different in the video and I'm sitting in the courthouse like, "Something is off with this video.
It's It's not me. It looks like me, but I'm not drunk. I don't drink. I'm not high. I've never smoked. I've never done drugs in my life, but yet in the video, I appear um drunk, super inebriated.
Um it looks as though I was sitting there devil's second-guessing myself like, "Wait a minute. Is this how you actually Is this what a Ring camera recordings look like?
>> So, we heard the lady say that she, again, was involved in a court case, and there was an actual recording that changed her behavior in the recording.
So, there were actual chain of events that took place, and she said that that was not altered. The events did take place, but her reaction, her response, and her behavior was altered. Um I don't know if you guys caught it, but if not, we'll go over it. She's saying in the video that her behavior she was acting as if she was drunk or maybe she took some type of substance um in the video.
And it's very interesting uh to note that this was actually footage taken from a Ring camera, okay? So, I know a lot of us have Ring cameras. Um we'll get into that into another video as to how Ring could be manipulated very easily, how a lot of agencies can just tap into your Ring. We'll talk about that another day. But today we're talking about how everything was the same except for the lady's movements, her behavior on this video. And that is pretty shocking. It's something that's so subtle and so small, but it's so important to this case and to anybody, right? Um the person obviously felt as though that they can keep the chain of events, but if they changed her behavior, then her character would be altered in court. Therefore, she would lose the case, right?
So, let's see what she says about it being involved in a Ring video.
>> This person submitted Ring camera footage of me, and that's how I appeared, drunk and high and and um slurring over my words a bit. And my best friend even said, after we finished the the the hearing, "Why did you look like that? Something was wrong with that video. That's not you." And in court the judge even said, "You know, you've been drinking or smoking? you were smoking or whatever, it's legal, you're grown. But that's the scary part that we That's the scary part. We don't have any legislation. How do people know? How would a judge How can a judge tell?
There There needs to be legislation that AI is stamped um AI is documented. There is no way on God's green earth that someone was able to go and alter a video of me and submit it and pass it off as accurate and and sound. Okay. You heard it, ladies and gentlemen. So, they supposedly got this footage from a Ring camera, which I thought was really significant because I've heard lately that Ring has really been under fire because different agencies are able to take footage from your Ring camera. A lot of us have Rings in front of our homes. And so, it's important, you know, that what's on Ring is accurate and it works. And so, I think it was um a little crazy and mind-boggling how somebody actually altered uh a Ring video. It wasn't a personal footage taken off of a phone. It was a Ring footage. So, um that actually stood out to me. That's actually really not good.
Um so, people have to be aware that all types of footage can be altered, okay?
Um things that you might not think can be altered Somebody might not think that uh Ring footage could be altered. Yes, it can be. So, be mindful that your image can be altered. Be mindful that your voice can be altered also, okay?
So, you have to be vigilant and understand you know, and remember what you say at all times, what you're doing at all times. So, there's two takeaways, community, that I want you to remember about the story. Number one, I want you to be vigilant about um AI-generated videos. And how can you possibly tell the difference? Now, there's some people in the AI community, and it's easier for them to really see, oh, that's off. You know, sometimes you might be able to see a video, and somebody might have six fingers. Maybe somebody has one eye.
You'd be surprised. I know it sounds a bit crazy, but I have seen videos like this and if you look really specifically, you can see things that are off. If not, there are also water spots that are in AI videos. Those are a little harder to see, but they are there and there are tools that can help you.
So, if you can't see these water spots with your own eye, I would suggest looking into some of the tools that can actually detect some of these things. And lastly, I want to bring up that there was something called the best evidence rule that was created recently, okay? I want you guys to listen. So, the best evidence rule requires producing an original document, recording, or photograph when it is content produced in court. Okay? So, there's no replicas, there's no copies that can be produced. So, what does that mean for this young lady? That means for digital files that the original is the only file that can be stored and presented into court. So, I I obviously don't know the ins and outs about this situation, but if it is the original ring footage, then it can't be altered, it can't be doctored, and AI could not have been used on this lady. So, I want to give my I want to give my kudos to this lady who beat this case in court. She identified something that was off, it wasn't her, her behavior was off, and I love that she fought and she won. So, this is a AI story, you know, to help you guys actually learn. Get out there, get involved with AI, don't be scared, don't be apprehensive, you have to learn about it so you don't become a victim of it.
All right, ADNC. Don't forget if you like this video, please download the app so you can see more videos like this soon. All right, until next time, take care.
