Getting Kicked Out Of Every Casino

[00:00:17]Today, I'm on a mission to secure some Blackjack profits. As per usual, this will be a continuation of my Eastern USA road trip where I drive around to all the casinos and play till they kick me out, documenting everything that I can with my hidden camera. We've got some ground to make up from the last video where I lost $10,925 across three sessions. It's not uncommon to take losses like that when you're betting thousands, but it definitely doesn't feel great. Regardless, it's part of the job and all I can do is keep grinding out time at the table. For anyone new here, I'm an advantage Blackjack player using the Hi-Lo count system to gain an edge over the casino.

I'll waste no time getting into it because we have a bunch of casinos to visit today. After getting destroyed at MGM Springfield, I drove 3 and 1/2 hours to a casino called Mount Airy in Mount Pocono, Pennsylvania.

[00:01:22]So far, Eastern USA has been extremely flyer heavy, meaning that the communication between casinos regarding advantage players is extensive. This is not good for me and honestly makes it super tough to get time in. Let's hope my picture didn't make it to Mount Airy.

[00:01:39]I found my table and bought in. This is the bet spread I'll be using and before long, we made it to true one. This calls for a $100 bet. I threw it out there and was dealt 13 versus six. I stood and the dealer drew to 17. Bad start. Out went another hand of a hundred and I was dealt another 13, this time versus seven. I hit, turning it into a 19. The dealer matched me, so we pushed. The true count had now made a jump to two, so I raised to two hands of 200. In came a 12 and nine versus 10.

[00:02:21]>> Well, that is a nice surprise. Usually 12s are game over for me, but we ended up with a 21 and 20. All we need now is for the dealer to bust.

[00:02:34]Beautiful. The true count was holding strong at two, so I left out the two hands of 200. I was dealt 10 and 19 versus six, which is a good spot to be in. I doubled the 10, getting a five, which isn't ideal.

[00:02:48]This proved to be a problem when the dealer drew to 21. Yikes.

[00:02:53]The true count was now up to three, so the bets jumped to $300 each. They were dealt soft and hard 14 versus five, which has potential. I doubled the soft 14, turning it into a hard one. It's all up to the dealer now.

[00:03:09]Thank you. I just need to keep doing that. My bets fell back to $200 each, and we're dealt 20 and soft 19 versus ace. The count was not high enough to buy insurance, which is not a good thing when the dealer has blackjack. After this, the count was back down to the negatives for several hands before making a recovery to somewhere between true one and two. I put out a bet of $200, and this one was easy for me because I was dealt blackjack. $200 blackjack pays 300, and for the rest of the shoe, the count was negative. I hopped over to a different table that had no players, with the only difference being a $100 minimum bet. Because of this, I'll no longer show footage of $100 bets, because there's no way to tell if it was true one or a negative count. Shortly into this one, the count started to rise and when it hit true two, I put out a hand of $300. I was dealt 14 versus 6, stood, and the dealer drew to 19. Out went another $300 bet, which was dealt 20 versus 3.

[00:04:10]Dealer scared me for a second, but ended up drawing to 19. My next hand was dealt 15 versus 7, which I ended up drawing a 10 on. No good.

[00:04:20]I dropped my bet slightly to $200 and was dealt 17 versus 8.

[00:04:24]The dealer took her time, but ended up busting. I played a single hand at a $100 bet, which won, before the true count made it back to two. My $300 bet was dealt 16 versus 3 and luckily the dealer busted. I tossed out another one and was dealt 13 versus 10.

[00:04:42]This one almost worked out, but we ended up with one too many.

[00:04:47]My next hand was dealt 15 versus 8 and after turning it into a 17, the dealer drew to a bust. The true count was finally back to three, so it was time for a $500 bet.

[00:04:58]I put it out and was dealt soft 16 versus 9, which ended up becoming a 23.

[00:05:03]The following $500 hand was dealt 14 versus ace and after declining insurance, I turned it into a 17.

[00:05:10]All that work just for the dealer to flip a nine. Dang it. The true count wasn't moving, so my bet stayed the same.

[00:05:18]13 versus 6 is a stand and thankfully the dealer busted. After that, the true count was back down to two, so I lowered my bet to $300.

[00:05:27]16 versus 6 is a stand and the dealer ended up drawing to 21. All those low cards brought the true count back to three, so the $500 bet was making a return.

[00:05:37]I was dealt another 16, this time versus 3, so all I could do was stand. Dealer drew to a bust, so we win. After all that, the true count had made a jump to four, so we were pulling out the big guns. I raised my bet to a thousand dollars and was dealt 19 versus eight.

[00:05:56]That is what we like to see. I was paid my thousand dollars and put out another one.

[00:06:08]Well, that could have gone better. Nice to not lose any money, but still we need those blackjacks. True count dropped back to three, so I dropped my bet to five hundred dollars. 18 versus eight had me expecting a push, but the dealer drew to 21. Damn it. The true count continued to fall and it was now at two.

[00:06:27]My three hundred dollar bet was dealt five versus four, which I turned into a 17. [music] Somehow the dealer drew to 21 again, which is bad news for me. The only upside is that eight low cards came out during that hand, which brought the true count up to five. This calls for a bet of 1200 dollars.

[00:06:48]There we go. That's how the blackjacks are supposed to play out. I was paid 1800 dollars and fired off another hand of 1200. This one was dealt 12 versus ace, which called for an insurance bet.

[00:07:01]I always play using perfect basic strategy, but will also use count-based playing deviations. The insurance bet becomes profitable at a true count of three or higher, so that's why I bought it here.

[00:07:12]Just as a side note, insurance is the most profitable deviation, accounting for 20% of all deviation EV. Sadly, on this hand the dealer did not have blackjack, so my six hundred dollars was lost. I then proceeded to bust out the 12, which worsens my situation further.

[00:07:30]Let's try that again.

[00:07:31]13 versus nine was not much better and after being forced to hit, we pulled a 10. Not good. Let's try this a third time.

[00:07:44]Finally. dealer bust so we win. The true count wasn't moving and my next hand of a thousand was dealt 10 versus 10. I deviated on this one and doubled.

[00:07:58]I really wish the dealer would have just busted but I'll take a push. My next hand of 1200 was dealt 14 versus two and after I stood the dealer drew to 17. The only plus side was that the count had risen further to true six increasing my advantage. I raised my bet to $1500.

[00:08:16]Please be good.

[00:08:21]It was good. $1500 blackjack pays 2250 and after that I put out another hand of 1500. In came a pair of threes versus a three. Time for some splits.

[00:08:41]21 Bro, come on. Why couldn't her second card have been a 10 like it would have been if it was my 13? That stings. We definitely could have used that one. My next $1500 hand was dealt blackjack. It was paid 2250 which eases the pain a bit. I left the same bet out and was dealt 19 versus five. Dealer ended up busting so this one was a success. The $1500 bet continued and my next hand was dealt 10 versus four. Time for a double.

[00:09:21]What the [ __ ] was that? You've got to be kidding me. This game can be so annoying sometimes. The true count was now up to seven or higher so this saw me raising my bet to $2000.

[00:09:33]In came a 10 versus three. Let's try this again.

[00:09:44]Excellent. That is definitely what we wanted to see. It really sucks when these huge doubles go wrong because they don't happen very often. I tried again with another hand of 2,000 and was dealt 18 versus Ace. The insurance bet was placed and the dealer did end up having Blackjack so we broke even. Out went another hand of 2,000 which was dealt 20 versus Ace. The insurance bet did not get paid out this time but at least the dealer busted. I tried putting out a hand of $1,200 but unfortunately the cut card was showing and they said they weren't going to deal any more hands.

[00:10:20]Why couldn't those doubles have worked out? $7,000 of my losses are from those two hands alone and both of them had so much potential. Just unlucky. I got into a new shoe and played minimum bet for a while. Seems like the surveillance team was paying attention today because it didn't take long for me to be paid a visit.

[00:11:23]>> So yeah, didn't last long here. The communication between casinos in this part of the country is nuts. They definitely don't want players like me getting much time at all, which is funny because I've been losing a ton lately.

[00:11:36]Like come on guys, I'm not a threat. Let me play. My total session here was an hour and 6 minutes with an hourly EV of $375.

[00:11:46]Thanks to those couple bad hands, I was leaving with a loss of $4,900.

[00:11:50]Oh well, not much I can do. I made all the right moves, the cards [music] just didn't fall my way. That EV number is my expected hourly rate and is calculated based on the game conditions and bet sizes. From Mount Airy, I drove 45 minutes to my next spot, which was Wind Creek Casino in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

[00:12:09]They had a similar game here, except it was even better because resplit of aces was allowed. However, the table min was higher at $100 per hand. Because of this, I'm going to continue only showing footage from true two and above because when I'm betting $100, it's impossible to tell if the true count was negative or true one. I started off with some $100 bets, but eventually we made it up to true two. Out went the $300 bet, and I was dealt five versus two, which I turned into a 15. Dealer ended up drawing to 18, so this one was no good.

[00:13:31]True count was now up to three, so I raised my bet to $500. In came a 20 versus ace, so I bought insurance.

[00:13:39]Dealer didn't end up having Blackjack, but at least my 20 beat her 17. My next hand of 500 was dealt soft 19 versus eight. I stood and the dealer flipped a 10, so we were paid.

[00:13:51]The true count had fallen back to two, and my next hand of 300 was dealt 20 versus eight. Dealer had an ace underneath, so this one worked out as well.

[00:14:01]The count dropped further to somewhere between true one and two, so I lowered my bet to $200. This one was dealt 16 versus three, and the dealer drew to 21.

[00:14:11]I tried again with the same bet, and this one worked out a bit better after the dealer busted. From here on out, the count was at true one or lower for the rest of the shoe and the one after.

[00:14:22]Finally, we started seeing some positive counts three shoes later, and here I raised my bet to $250.

[00:14:28]An attempt was made, but I ended up busting out. True count jumped up to three, so I raised my bet to $500. This one was dealt 17 versus 10, and sadly the dealer had a 10 underneath.

[00:14:40]I dropped my bet to $300 and received an 18 versus 10.

[00:14:44]Once again, the dealer had a 10 underneath, so we were cooked. True count fell to one for the next hand, which was dealt soft 13 versus eight.

[00:15:11]This interaction was short and sweet, and it was clear that these guys had been tipped off as well. Sucks to be me, I guess. All in all, my session here It 42 minutes with an hourly EV of $475.

[00:15:24]I must have lost a ton of hands in the true one and negative counts because I somehow booked a loss of $3200.

[00:15:32]Not the result we hoped for, but it could have been worse. It really does suck getting backed off so quickly though. Pennsylvania mandates that all Blackjack games be stand 17 and offer surrender, which reduces the house edge.

[00:15:45]So these places take their game security seriously, especially when you're spreading as high as I do. All I can do is move on to the next spot and hope they haven't heard of me yet. This would be Hollywood Casino in Morgantown, Pennsylvania. They offered an eight deck game with all the good rules and I actually didn't fail my session here. I had met up with a friend and we went to a huge ass buffet nearby and afterwards we kind of just chilled out and back counted for a while until eventually getting backed off together. In total we played for 4 hours and 44 minutes with an average hourly EV of $267.

[00:16:20]We split the profits and after all was said and done, I walked away with $2200 of profits. This was honestly much needed. Life on the road can be kind of lonely and there isn't much I do other than play Blackjack, drive and sleep.

[00:16:35]It's the nature of the job, but this was a nice break. After this session we both pressed on and went our separate ways.

[00:16:41]From Hollywood I drove 30 minutes to Valley Forge Casino in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. As is standard with all the other Pennsylvania casinos, the rules were very good and the game I was targeting here was in their high limit room with a $100 minimum bet. Once I got in there, I was greeted with a nice empty table. Time to get to work. I played at the $100 minimum bet for quite a while, but eventually the count hit true two. My $300 bet was dealt nine versus five, which means it's double time. I turned it into a 17 and the dealer drew to 20. Bad. True count had arisen to three, so my next hand was going to be $500. In came a 16 versus 10, which was surrendered.

[00:17:24]The count was still moving up and was now somewhere between true three and four.

[00:17:28]>> [music] >> I decided to bet $750 and was dealt 14 versus eight. I hit and got the bad ending. My next hand was going to be a $1,000. I threw it out there and was dealt 20 versus 10. Dealer had eight underneath, so finally we secured a win. It was short-lived though, because my next hand of 500 was unsuccessful against the dealer 19.

[00:18:01]Bro, let's hope for no more of that because the true count was now up to five.

[00:18:17]That was a lucky one. Thank goodness.

[00:18:20]True count was up even further now to six, so out went a $1,500 bet.

[00:18:36]I dropped my bet back to $1,200. Let's hope for an improvement.

[00:18:46]That is more like it. Apparently, the only way to win at this game is drawing to 21. I dropped my bet back to $1,000 and was dealt nine versus 10.

[00:18:55]Dealer drew to a bust, so this one was safe.

[00:19:12]And just as I start to win a couple hands, the back-off comes, of course.

[00:19:16]This is honestly brutal. It feels like my name is so burnt down in this area, which makes it nearly impossible to get time in. My session here lasted a grueling 8 minutes with an hourly EV of $575.

[00:19:30]After all that, I was leaving with a profit of $1,000, which is nice, I suppose. I got to say the East Coast is by far my least favorite place to play in the states. When you're playing at this level with bets of these sizes, it seems like the casinos are just so sweaty and are chomping at the bit to send your name and picture to every casino within a 500-mile radius. I honestly don't know if I'll come back here for this reason, and if I did, I wouldn't be playing as aggressively as I do in these videos. The games are good, but it doesn't really matter if you can't play them for longer than an hour.

[00:20:14]This is the nature of advantage blackjack, and it's why the bankroll has to be able to cover at least 100 max bets. The swings can be brutal. This loss brought my total US profit down to $56,765, plus my Canadian winnings of 51,000, so we're still doing okay.

[00:20:33]In hindsight, I promise you guys that it all comes back eventually, but right now it just sucks.
