[00:00:01]USCIS just changed the green card rules, and this affects millions of people inside the United States, including most Indians. Here is what happened on May 22nd. USCIS issued a new policy memorandum. Adjustment of status will now only be granted in extraordinary circumstances. That is the official language from USCIS. What this means, F-1 students, B-1 and B-2 visitors, O-1 workers, and most temporary visa holders inside the US will now have to leave the country and apply for their green card from their home country through a US embassy. This is called consular processing. But, here is the important detail. H-1B and L-1 workers and their dependents get partial relief because of the dual intent rules in those visa categories. That is the only exception.
