Camp Nou Construction Update: NEW Escalator, Compression Ring & MASSIVE Facade Progress!Added:
Construction at Spotify Camp Nou is entering one of its most intense phases [music] yet. New steel sections are rising almost daily, while facade systems continue spreading across multiple sectors of the stadium. [music] Entire areas are now starting to look far closer to completion than ever before. But today's [music] biggest surprise isn't just the compression ring or the llamas.
>> [music] >> Deep inside the project, another major system has quietly returned and it could [music] signal a completely new stage of construction.
So, let's get started and begin today's behind-the-scenes construction update.
>> [music] >> Work begins at the upper compression ring, where crews are installing another massive steel beam into the structure.
Workers on elevated platforms carefully guide the new section into place, while the ring continues growing piece by piece around the stadium. The newly advanced area also gives a clearer look at the four-flange connection system linking the radial beams together. More pillars, radial beams, and flange sections are already prepared nearby, showing that this sector will continue advancing very quickly over the coming days.
Strong activity continues across the third cantilever and upper skeleton of the stadium. Cranes, elevated platforms, scaffolding, and multiple worker teams are all active at the same time as construction spreads across several different levels.
Underneath the bracket structures, crews continue welding and structural adjustments, while other areas closer to goal sir remain slightly quieter.
Even so, progress is still visible almost everywhere around the upper structure.
Inside the second cantilever level, several block wall sections are now growing rapidly.
Some zones already include full scaffolding systems with workers actively continuing interior construction. One of these interior sections appears to be developing into a future utility or service area while buckets of material continue being lifted upward toward crews working above. Along the lateral facade, additional black sandwich panels have now been installed since the previous visit. Large numbers of extra panels also remain stacked nearby waiting for the next installation phase.
Concrete pumping equipment and elevated platforms remain active around the facade while crews continue expanding the exterior covering section by section.
Another major highlight in Gol Sur is the rapid progress of the decorative llamas, which continue expanding day by day across the facade structure.
Right now, the installation on the first terrace is much more complex because the llamas also have to integrate with the stadium [music] access roofs below, but little by little those ceiling sections are now being completed, allowing crews to slowly continue pushing the llamas upward toward the higher terraces. Once installation fully reaches the second and third terraces, the process should become much faster since the llamas will mainly be attached directly onto the support brackets. It's a small architectural detail, but one that gives Spotify Camp Nou a much more unique and modern appearance. One of the most interesting updates today comes from the lateral area where the second level sandwich panel installation is now advancing much faster than before.
Several new black panels have already been added since the previous visit, making this mobility core look noticeably more complete.
From ground level, the progress is much easier to appreciate.
Crews are also using alignment bars underneath the structure to keep the facade perfectly positioned while work continues across the sector.
Multiple elevated platforms remain active around both the exterior and interior areas while finishing corner pieces are now being installed on some of the panels. A few sections still show exposed yellow interior material.
Proving that some smaller finishing pieces still need to be added.
Overall, this is quickly becoming one of the most advanced facade zones currently visible at Spotify Camp Nou.
One unexpected development is the return of active rebar installation around the diamond structure.
These types of works were very common months ago, but had recently become much less visible.
Now workers are once again placing reinforcement bars across the upper sections. Showing that this area has restarted progressing after a quieter period. Crews continue installing llamas underneath the lower false ceiling sections. Where large portions already appear significantly more complete than before.
Most likely the lower areas will be finished first before activity fully shifts upward toward the larger bracket zones. [music] At the same time. More vertical support systems continue appearing across the structural beams.
While huge stacks of additional llamas remain prepared throughout the corner sectors waiting for installation.
The compression ring is now extending deeper toward the Gol Norte side of the stadium. Another pillar is already completed while a nearby radial beam appears prepared for the next installation phase.
Temporary shoring systems positioned nearby strongly suggest another major beam connection could happen very soon as the structure keeps expanding around the corner sections.
Inside the Gol Norte corner, crews continue adjusting and securing the llama anchor systems installed during recent days.
Alignment work appears nearly complete as workers carefully tighten several fastening points.
Painting teams wearing protective suits are also coating the rear support beams behind the llama systems. Preparing the entire sector for future llama installation. Additional facade llamas were also seen arriving during the visit as material transport continues non-stop throughout the construction site.
Even in sectors with less visible movement, workers continue preparing materials, moving equipment, and organizing the next installation phases behind the scenes.
Across another corner sector, additional Lama supports are now visible on the upper, middle, and lower levels of the facade structure.
Some sections already contain multiple completed supports, while other zones still require additional installation work.
Diagonal support systems are also becoming increasingly visible across the front-facing corner sections, helping prepare the structural base needed before final Lama placement begins.
From the Tribuna corner area, the newly arrived escalator can now be partially seen behind the diamond structure near the future cafeteria zone.
This entire sector remains very active, with crews continuing work on the superstructure, ventilation systems, and interior machine rooms around level 45.
Construction material and debris are also constantly being moved across the area.
There are also signs of ongoing concrete work near the future seating structure, while nearby Lama anchor zones continue being prepared for future installation.
Even without massive visual changes, the Tribuna corner area still looks like one of the busiest construction zones inside Spotify Camp Nou right now.
One of the biggest surprises of the day is the arrival of a brand new escalator unit in the Tribuna sector.
After a long period without new escalator deliveries, another full unit has finally arrived on site.
Crews are now removing the protective wrapping before the escalator is lowered into position using the tower crane, marking another important step for the stadium's interior circulation systems.
To finish today's update, we move to this outer corner area where work is still active around the bracket structures.
Multiple elevated platforms can be seen operating here with some crews painting while others continue structural tasks around the steel framework.
Several support beams for the future black sandwich panels are already installed, although some sections are still missing before full facade installation can begin. At lower level, the llama supports remain mostly unchanged compared to previous days, but steady progress is still continuing across this sector.
Today's update from Spotify Camp Nou once again shows how many major construction phases are now advancing simultaneously.
The compression ring keeps expanding, sandwich panel installation continues accelerating, llama preparation zones are multiplying, and important interior systems like escalators are finally returning to the project.
Week by week, [music] the stadium is beginning to look closer to a fully completed modern arena.
