By reframing Conquest’s failure as a catalyst for legacy, this analysis elevates a static villain into a tragic figure of existential purpose. It is a sophisticated subversion of the "might makes right" trope that adds genuine narrative depth to the series.

What if Conquest was Reborn.... and Joined Mark?Added:
What if Conquest was reborn after he lost his first fight with Mark? What if the Viltromite Enforcer didn't die in Mark's hands in their second fight and was sent back in time to the exact moment he woke up in the GDA after his first fight with Mark. In this story line, Conquest awakens in the GDA, but this time he remembers everything. He knows exactly how he went back to Viltro, got orders from Thrag, picked a second fight with Mark, suffered a second defeat that cost him his life, and he also remembers a final moment of desperation as he dies. This matters because Conquest understands that his life of glory, victory, and battle ends up feeling pathetic and meaningless, completely forgotten. So this time he decides to change. He wants to be relevant. He wants his life to mean something. After all, he knows exactly where his path leads. If he stays stuck in his old ways, his death. So, he changes his plan to turn his shame into his magnumopus. First, he analyzed the most important question. Why did he fail? Mark fought against Conquest as if it was his only goal in life. The rage from Eve's first death. The pain Conquest inflicted on Oliver right in front of Mark. The constant taunts.
Conquest threw everything he had at him just to get a slight edge. All of it stemmed from his bloated sense of superiority and bruised ego. In the end, it backfired. Mark's sore spots were triggered, and at the risk of his own life, he came after Conquest's life.
Conquest struggled to fight back. And even when he drove his fist through Mark's bowels, he still failed. In his final moments, Conquest desperately tried to make his life and death mean something, only to end up meaningless and irrelevant. Basically, his pride led to his downfall. This all stemmed from conquest. Choosing to uphold his identity as an enforcer. Throughout his life, he became a role model for the Viltromite Empire. He enslaved planets, destroyed civilizations, and stood as an idol for every Viltromite. He only found meaning in such destruction. So, when he lost at the hands of a half Viltromite, halfhuman hybrid, his legacy was dented.
Then there was the fact that Thrag humiliated him after the first defeat.
That pushed him to the edge. He walked right into his own death. For the first time in longer than he can remember, Conquest feels something colder than rage. He feels irrelevant. And that breaks something in him more deeply than Mark ever did. Because he can survive mutilation. He can survive isolation. He can survive being feared, hated, and even forgotten. But to realize that his entire existence ended as nothing more than someone else's disposable thug, that feels unbearable. And so Conquest chooses a different path and becomes something else. entirely. So, as the GDA machines hum around him and human doctors and armed guards whisper behind reinforced glass, Conquest lies there with his ruined face tilted toward the concrete floor. And he makes a decision.
If he cannot conquer the future, he will author it. He will not die the same death twice. And more than that, if Mark Grayson is the one who kills him in every version of the story, then perhaps the only meaningful victory left is this. to shape the one warrior strong enough to surpass the empire. Strong enough to kill what made conquest. And for that, the first major change happens right after he wakes up in the GDA.
Cecil and the other researchers observe Conquest, who is buried under tons of concrete. They hope to understand his physiology so they can prepare for other filtermites that will come. In the original timeline, Conquest just breaks through the concrete and flies away.
Clearly showing how useless this imprisonment is. He does exactly the same this time. The concrete block doesn't stand a chance. But instead of flying away, Conquest just stands there looking at Cecil. I need to speak to Mark Grayson now. Conquest just sits there waiting for Cecil to meet his demands. Cecil gets the hidden message from Conquest's action. There is nothing that can actually stop Conquest from leaving this place except his own will.
He seeks robots's help in handling the situation because he knows exactly what will happen if Mark finds out that Conquest is alive. But even Robot says that the only safe option is to call Mark or Conquest might just destroy them all. So Cecil makes a call. So Cecil ends up calling Mark by making up a lie.
When Mark sees Conquest alive, he flies into a rage, destroys the cell Conquest is in and immediately attacks. Conquest welcomes the fight with a smile. Both of them are injured and neither is at full strength. This is when Conquest puts his battle experience to work. He doesn't try to go Mark and he doesn't trade blow for-blow. He fights like a precise instrument, dodging Mark's attacks and striking only when he finds the opening he needs. Their fight spans across the country until Mark starts to tire and Conquest beats him into the ground. I am going to stay here. I will destroy you bit by bit, Mark Grayson. And then Conquest flies away. After the beatdown, Mark heals over time while Conquest roams across Earth observing its people.
Whenever Mark shows improvement, Conquest just appears and attacks him out of nowhere. Cecil and Robot try to stop him many times, coordinating with different heroes, but it only results in more cities being destroyed. Mark is the only one who can put up a fight against Conquest, and they realize this harsh lesson the hard way. Conquest never normally intervenes in Earth's affairs.
But whenever Mark is involved, whether he's fighting some random monster or doing anything else, Conquest shows up and makes a situation worse. While everyone thinks Conquest is just taking some sick revenge on Mark, someone begins to notice something. Robot notices the changes in Mark before Mark does. He's getting stronger at a rapid pace. While Conquest's attacks seem mindless and torturous, they're actually training sessions. He uses all his experience to bring the best out of Mark, improving his timing, battle instincts, strength, and technique. When Robot notices this, he informs Mark and Cecil. He loses any trust he might have had in Cecil after the Conquest incident. But Mark is, of course, curious as well. So, in one of the fights, he tries to communicate with Conquest, but Conquest just smirks. He takes a chance when Mark lets his guard down and beats him into the ground. You are too weak. You have no right to question my motivation. If you want to know, get stronger and serve my purpose.
A similar scene repeats for several days. The only difference is that Mark lasts much longer with every passing day, and this behavior only creates more doubt in everyone's minds. In the original timeline, Thrag says he wants to kill him for being defeated by a halfbred teenager that triggered Conquest. He took a group, attacked a coalition ship, and picked a second fight with Mark, in which he dies. But this time, things are different. Because of Conquest's delay in reporting, Thrag sends other Viltromites to check in on him. They see how Conquest is terrorizing Earth and beating Mark down again and again. They consider this a clear victory for him, not knowing the full story. Conquest meets these Vrammites and returns to the Viltroite warship to report a threat. He says that he has tested Mark over the past few days, defeated him several times and has seen considerable improvement in the boy. He declares that Earth could become a valuable breeding ground. Even as he does this, Nolan and Allen are almost done with their preparations and they are on their way to the coalition's main force along with Mark and Oliver. In the original timeline, this is the moment when Conquest and two other Viltromites fight Mark, Nolan, and Allan. But none of that happens now. They reach the coalition's main force without any trouble. Because the interception doesn't happen, the coalition completes their preparation and the main force reaches planet VR. There they are greeted by two Voltramite soldiers, only two and no one else. The base is empty and the whole planet is being run by Vassa subordinates of the Viltromites.
The coalition defeats the two easily and it doesn't take much effort to learn what happened. So after Conquest reported back that a hybrid is actually worth something, Thragg becomes intrigued by Earth. After getting more information from Conquest, he arrives at a conclusion. Earth can be both a breeding hub and a base of operations.
In Thrag's mind, the coalition is just a group of cowards who can't make hard calls. So staying on Earth with such a weak species surrounding them makes it impossible for the coalition to launch large-scale attacks. And even if they do, the Viltromites aren't weak and will have enough strength to resist. The more time they spend, the higher their numbers will grow. The coalition forces, including Mark, are terrified. They don't know what awaits them back on Earth. When they reach Earth, their worst fears come true. Earth basically becomes another Viltramite colony.
Several cities are in the process of reconstruction under the guidance of Viltromites. A lot of heroes are killed, Cecil and Robot. Their deaths aren't confirmed. Mark knows Eve cannot die easily, but he is still terrified. Above all, what bothers Nolan and Mark the most is the lack of information about Debbie. They don't know whether she's alive or dead. A fight breaks out.
Nolan, Mark, and Oliver fight like beasts against the Ventraite soldiers.
For the first time, people see Conquest not mindlessly diving into the fight, but standing on the sidelines with a proud smile. Mark is a lot stronger than he should have been compared to the original timeline. They make short work of the Viltromites before Thrag shows up with the rest. The coalition forces retreat because they can't fight without causing harm to the planet. Nolan, too deep in enemy lines, is captured. Mark and Oliver barely escape, severely injured. Next up is Thragg's counterattack. After the coalition retreats, he sends Viltromite forces to destroy one coalition planet after another. At the same time, he assigns a special mission to three of his top generals, excluding Conquest. And that's what begins the breeding program in Thraxa. After looking at Oliver's performance while unimpressed, Thrag realizes that Thrax and Viltromite hybrids would make for good cannon fodder, which they need to bring down the coalition who outnumber them. Soon, the Thrax and Viltromites join the war, chipping away at the coalition bit by bit. It's not long before discussions begin within the coalition. They consider using the scourge virus to destroy the Viltromites on Earth. Mark, of course, opposes it. He might have become more powerful than in the original timeline, but his mindset and heart haven't changed much. He's still the same caring Mark, but many others, including Oliver, see the bigger picture that Mark cannot. The scenario plays out exactly like the original timeline.
Oliver and Allen try to infect Earth while Mark tries to stop them. The virus blows up in Mark's face. Thrag saves him. He begins to have suspicions about Mark and learns about his Argol bloodline. His motive to kill them intensifies. He kills the doctor to hide the truth and uses the act of treason as justification to plan Nolan's execution.
Since Mark is being treated and Thragg has given his word to spare him, he leaves it for later. But what he doesn't expect is that before he can proceed with the plan, Nolan escapes with Debbie. He doesn't even leave Earth, but somehow disappears. Vermite forces, including the Thraxen hybrids, are deployed to search for them. Thrag is furious. He investigates how Nolan could have escaped, but there are no clues. In that fury, Thrag goes after Mark, who is still in quarantine. He tries to kill him, but there is no dinosaur this time to come and save him. Because of Conquest's intervention, Mark spent all this time at the coalition, and there is no relationship between Mark and Dinosaurus. And this time, however, Mark doesn't die. At the last moment, the quarantine room tears open as Conquest charges in. He sucker punches Thrag and pulls Mark out. Before Thrag can react, the special drones designed by Robot enter the room and surround Thrag. As soon as the punch lands, the vibrations drive Thrag insane. He holds his head in pain. Conquest breaks through the surrounding viltrammites, takes Mark, and escapes. Surprisingly, not into space, but back on Earth. Before Thre can recover and chase them, Robot already makes his move. The news of Conquest betrayal is broadcast across the world so that all the Viltromites know. Before they are lost in confusion, Robot also releases the information about Mark and Nolan being of Argal's bloodline. It turns out Conquest has been keeping an eye on Mark as well.
When the doctor got the results, Conquest was the one who saw them first.
He knows Thrag will make a desperate move, and he is prepared. He's also the one who helped Nolan escape. Once the news is broadcast, the Viltromites all bend the knee to Nolan as their emperor and Mark as their prince. Thrag is exiled. Conquest insists to Mark and Nolan that they shouldn't let Thrag go, but Nolan doesn't agree with him. Still, Conquest has a plan of his own. After exile, just like in the original timeline, Thra goes to Thraxa. He kills a few wiltite soldiers stationed there and takes over the hybrid army. After breeding for a few months, his kids from the original timeline are born, including Ursul, who quickly became stronger and takes over as second in command. Coalition, meanwhile, is focused on restoring their lost planets, cooperating with Nolan. Theatus hasn't died yet, so he still has control over the coalition, and Allen hasn't taken over yet. Thetus sends Battlebeast over to Thraxaw along with the coalition forces to fight Thrag. The coalition forces only have one motive to make sure the hybrids don't interfere in the fight. The fight continues. Without intervention, Battlebeast, who is too prideful to use his weapon, dies. Thragg is severely injured. At that exact moment, both Conquest and Thetus show up. From the start, Conquest has been cooperating with the coalition to take down Thrag ever since the exile. It is also Conquest who gives the information on Thrag's location to the coalition.
Thragg injured and exhausted doesn't have much fight in him. Conquest and Theatus defeat him easily. But right when they are about to retreat, Conquest turns around and fights Thadus. With his new allegiance to Nolan and Mark, Conquest doesn't want any signs of Viltroite rebellion. That is the whole reason why he killed Thrag. He doesn't want Thetus, who is the traitor against Argol, to live. The fight is brutal.
They lay waste to most of Thraxa.
Atheadus dies along with a bunch of coalition forces. Conquest escapes with severe injuries. With Conquest's actions, the war that had been on pause with the coalition reignites. Conquest is receiving treatment on Earth. Allan tries to stop the coalition, but the pressure is too high. Other factions within the coalition take over and lead the charge. The fight between the coalition and the Viltramite intensifies. They fight across planets, chipping away at each other's forces.
But without their main fighting force, the coalition is on the losing end throughout it all. But the tide changes when the Viltromites discover a new enemy. And that too is because of Conquest's actions. In the original timeline, Ursul had a chance to fully realize how senseless and brutal Thrag's principles are. Now all she sees is that Thrag, the father she swore loyalty to, has died in the conflict between the Coalition and the Viltromites. So, as the war between the coalition and the Viltromites reaches Earth, the Thraxen hybrids jump in, fighting both sides at once. Their numbers are higher than in the original timeline. The coalition and the Viltromites are forced into a temporary truce to deal with the Thraction Hybrids. Still, there are too many enemies coming at them at the same time. As the fight becomes more intense, soon everyone is overwhelmed and outnumbered. The excess Thraxen hybrids push past the front lines and enter Earth, destroying everything in their path and taking their rage out on the innocent. Because of conquest intervention in this timeline, Robot becomes a bit more passive. But that doesn't mean he is any less prepared than in the original. And he still has the same ambition to take over. He even speeds up the construction of anti-trimmite drones. The only problem is that because of the thaction hybrid attack, he has to reveal his cards much sooner. Dozens of drones fly out targeting the hybrids. The sonic attacks have a much stronger effect on these hybrids and they aren't mentally strong enough to fight through it. As more and more drones swarm in, the hybrids are finally matched. Usall sees the losses among her forces and reluctantly retreats back to Thraxa. The Viltromites and the coalition retreat as well, but they maintain the truce. Thraxa becomes a new common enemy. Leaderless and reckless, they're a volatile element.
They cannot be left unchecked. Mark is against the idea of massacring the whole species. But in that moment, he's overwhelmed by the opinions of Nolan, Robot, Allan, and the rest of the Viltromites. They all want to kill the Thrashan hybrids. With robots, drones as a primary force, they launch an allout attack. The war is brutal. Orsol inexperienced can't withstand the sudden attack. She's not ready for it. All she can do is break down and cry as her entire family, her entire hybrid force is destroyed one by one. Both the coalition and viltromite suffer losses as well and they do not want to fight for the time being. So they retreat. By the time Mark and Nolan reach Earth along with other Viltromite forces, they are greeted by Robot bearing his fangs.
Robot has already used his drones to capture the Viltmite families while they were away. He holds them hostage and swarms the exhausted Wiltite forces with drones. Another brutal fight begins. The Viltmite forces are exhausted and caught off guard. As they struggle, bleeding from their ears, Conquest is the one who steps in. He catches Robot, who is inside a drone himself. Offg guard, Conquest grits through the pain as his ears begin to bleed from the sonic attacks. He smashes through the drone, takes Robot into the sky, and then into space. Robot, without the protection of his drone suit, dies. Mark recovers quickly and catches Conquest as he begins to fall. But it is already too late, too damaged and exhausted.
Conquest slowly dies with a grin on his face. Several things go through his mind and in that final moment he looks at Mark, the hybrid who defeated him by a fluke in their first fight. In the previous timeline, it was a source of shame for conquest. But in this timeline, the one who defeated him turned out to be of Argo's bloodline. He is going to be the future emperor of the Viltromites. This brings a sense of pride as he dies because he's no longer irrelevant. War ends on all fronts.
Nolan retires from the position of emperor and lays low with Debbie.
Meanwhile, Mark takes the reigns of the Viltromite Empire. To maintain the truce with the coalition, they are asked to leave Earth. Mark agrees and moves the Viltromites back to planet VR, which remains intact in this timeline. There is peace at last. Conquest dies as a legend among the Viltromites. He's credited with spearheading the rebellion against Regent Thrag, killing him, training Mark, and ultimately protecting the Viltite race at its most critical moment. Just as he wished conquest makes his life far more meaningful, more meaningful than he could have ever imagined. This is what would have happened if Conquest was reborn. But what if Emperor Mark had been there when Conquest had first arrived on Earth?
