'Sanatan Must Be Eradicated': Stalin Jr's Controversial Statement In Assembly In CM Vijay's Presence

[00:00:04]Welcome back and now to breaking developments coming in from Tamil Nadu assembly as Udhayanidhi [music] who is now taking over as a leader of opposition in the newly elected assembly made some controversial statements.

[00:00:18]Tamil Nadu might have a new chief minister, a new government and a new political era as promised by C. Joseph Vijay, but even before this new era could fully settle in, the state has been dragged back into one of its most explosive ideological battles. The Sanatan row. Inside the assembly today, leader of opposition DMK MLA and M.K.

[00:00:39]Stalin's son, Udhayanidhi Stalin once again revived his controversial anti-Sanatan pitch. Standing in the house in the presence of the new chief minister, Udhayanidhi declared that Sanatan should be eradicated.

[00:01:31]Politics has obviously broken out now with the BJP asking, has the DMK learned nothing from its political defeat or is this a deliberate attempt to return to hardcore Dravidian ideology even from the opposition benches?

[00:01:46]Even after losing the Tamil Nadu elections, Mr. Udhayanidhi Stalin is once again back to what he does best, Sanatan hatred, Sanatan insult. And he has said that Sanatan should be exterminated this time in the assembly.

[00:01:59]Last time he said the Supreme Court called it a hate speech. Stalin did not take any action, in fact, promoted him as Deputy CM. Congress was with him, never condemned it. And despite losing the elections, despite having a anti-Hindu, anti-Sanatan worldview, now there is no learning that he has taken from the election. He's continuing with his Sanatan abuse and insult even now.

[00:02:19]And this shows the mindset. The Congress, Samajwadi Party, Trinamool Congress, all of them indulge in Sanatan hate.

[00:02:27]Now, Udhayanidhi Stalin might already be continuing forward what he started when he was in the treasury benches. But what makes this development and this moment more significant is the man who's silently watching it all, the newly elected Chief Minister Vijay.

[00:02:42]Interestingly, he was appointed he has appointed his astrologer, Rathan Pandit, as an officer on special duty to the Chief Minister. In his first speech after taking oath, Vijay had also promised a real secular and social justice era in Tamil Nadu. His government do faces its first big ideological test now. Here is what the new Tamil Nadu Chief Minister said moments after his swearing in.

[00:03:07]In fact, we've got breaking developments coming in. Congress has now [music] reacted to the appointment of Vijay's astrologer as his officer on special duty. They [music] are questioning this appointment. They're asking why wouldn't astrologer require an OSD's position?

[00:03:23]Very interesting that an MP of the Congress has reacted to this development, but has completely ignored what Udhayanidhi Stalin has said about Sanatan. Something that Madras High Court just 5 months ago had called complete attack and an outright attack on Hinduism and gone on to say that when Udhayanidhi says something like this, he clearly means abolishing. There are no ifs and buts.

[00:03:53]There are no justifications to that statement. Congress, then an ally of the DMK, now an ally of a TVK, has chosen to stay mum on that. But, what did get their attention was uh appointment of astrologer of Vijay as his OSD in his position as the Chief Minister.
