Golf 101: Pitching Uphill Tip

[00:00:01]Hi everybody, a quick tip when you're pitching into a green that's quite a bit above you. So you can see here on the first, it's our third shot. It's probably going to play 5 to 10 yards extra because it's uphill. Okay? So really what we want to do is if you think about it, you're kind of trying to land us on the flag. So rather than thinking about landing it at the front of the green, think about flying it all the way to the flag. And then what's really important is an uphill lie, so you must get yourself matching the slope and swinging up the slope. So that means that the ball is going to go quite a bit higher. So we need to make sure that we have enough club to get there. So we're going to match the slope and we're going to go with it and make sure we have plenty of club and the ball lands up on the green.
