There's intense panic in the All Progressive Congress as the Federal High Court in Abuja nullifies in guidelines says that parties have to September 2026 to submit their membership register. You will recall that in have set the deadline for May 10, a move that apparently favors the All Progressive Congress. But this judgment of the court clearly creates a pathway for Bala Metu to be clearly and easily defeated in 2027. What do I mean by that? I will be dissecting it for you. I will be telling you about the judgment of the court. Who took in to court? What was the argument of the plaintiff and the defendant? How did the court arrive at that decision? I will be breaking everything down for you, cutting through the noise on this episode of political blog.

My dear people, you will recall that INC set a deadline that May 10, all parties should submit their membership register. This is to trap people into their existing political party so that you won't be able to move away from your current political party if you lost a primary election. This move apparently favors the ruling or progressive Congress. And now the court have nullified it that that May 10 contradicts the dictate of the 2026 electoral act. The electoral act which they just create in 2026 this particular year by the national assembly states that parties must have 120 days pre-election that parties should submit their membership register no later than 120 days to the election. But the mayor in next set does not meet that particular deadline. The real date should have been September 2026 and the judgment was given by justice MG Umar of the federal eye court in Abuja who took in to court who took the post step.

[00:02:02]There is a party that you are perhaps not aware of. This may be the first time you are hearing of that party because this is my first time of hearing about it but they call themselves youth party which the acronym should be like YP Youth Party that is the name of the party. they decide to take in to court and now the judgment has been given that no INC it shouldn't be May 10 it should be September 2026 so that membership register that you are telling them to submit by May 10 os no water and it has been nullified by the court of law now the big question is that how does this great panic in the APC one the second is that how does it create a pathway for Bola Betinu to be roundly defeated in the 2027 presidential election Now there are two ways. First is that first primaries have been done and the primary that was done a lot of people lost their return ticket. A lot of people that have been promised automatic ticket. You will recall that when the APC was to win over or to compel over or to force some people to come and join the party. You will recall that a lot of people were promised automatic ticket.

[00:03:08]Even president Ba metu when he was on the floor of the national assembly to present the budget and he made a mistake. He called he called the present national assembly the 11th assembly whereas it is the 10th assembly. When they corrected him he said oh that means that they are all reelected and some gullible senators and house of rep member they took the words of the president as him saying that they would have automatic ticket. So we have a situation whereby many of them have already believed that oh they will just have automatic ticket in 2027. But the dynamics of their local um um of their states, their local communities and their environment, their constituency, the dynamics changes because there are some governors that they don't like some of these people and they are not giving them the ticket. They are denying them the ticket. So a lot of people have been agrieved and you know that when it comes to the presidential election you need support from every stage you need support at the world level the local government level the state level you need support of people that are even contesting as well. So at the end of the day these people that have lost in the primaries some some of them believe that they were unjustly treated and they want to test their faith in the general election. Somebody like Senator Nedo in Delta State, he believed that that the senator Yokoa, former vice presidential candidate of Abubaka, he believed that he doesn't deserve that ticket. Nedo believe that does not deserve that ticket that he was robbed of his mandate. So now the implication of that is Nedoko can go and join another party, register in that political party, get the ticket and contest the election.

[00:04:50]So the party that has a lot to lose right now is the ruling on progressive congress because people will dump the party. There is a lot of people in the party. The party have won a a lot of souls into it mist. Now these people that have lost the primary and people that feel dissatisfied they can now um go to another party register there and after registering there get the ticket of that party parties like NDC ADC and this will grossly diminish the effect and political might of the APC. So you can you may want to ask yourself something that the chairman is a professor of law people have been asking people have been saying that he is partisan. The big question is that how did a professor of law not know how to interpret the difference between 120 days? Why did he say something that should be September? Why did he move it back to May 10? The big question is that are Nigerians sure that Josh Amquito can be trusted because most of the decision that is that he has been taken lacks logic in first law lack logic in human reasoning logical reasoning itself. So if you look at it can amon be trusted.

[00:06:02]So right now since the court have given a judgment I hope that professor Josh Amquitons let in we act immediately we act swiftly just as when court gives decision against the opposition political party because right now people can decamp and I can tell you that people will decamp massively from the all progressive congress and the more people decamp the more you limit the chance of metu at winning the election.

[00:06:27]APC apparently thought that they can use that particular clause by INC to trap people in the APC.

[00:06:35]I want to assert that APC would have thought that if people are trapped in the party if they cannot go elsewhere to get the ticket then you will just find a situation whereby the president will just call a meeting will just be appealing to them that okay this ticket have been won and lost please let us stay together let us stay united and you can trust Betu is lyrically tested in that regard if we just scope them and promise them that don't worry if we win the election I am the president there's a lot of appointment a lot that I can You have a lot of appointment over 5,000 appointment Nigerian president have the capacity is empowered to over 5,000 appointment presidentu we just tell them that how many are you submit your names perhaps you guys are just about 800 or 900 I will find something for you let's go into the election let's defeat Peter Obi and other opposition leaders then when we win I will compensate you ambassador position special senior special assistant you know and um ministerial positions A lot of head of ministries, agencies and paratas of government, BS, you know, um boards of um agencies of government, um counselors of university, a lot of positions that the president is empowered to appoint people into. But now it has backfired because when people have option to move away, to get the ticket from another party to test their popularity, definitely they won't wait for the president's appointment that is not guaranteed. Now another problem is that a lot of people are genuinely agrieved.

[00:08:07]These people are agreed because APC sold forms to a lot of people. People that they know won't be cleared. APC was just selling form to anybody and everybody.

[00:08:17]And because the party is the ruling party, his form is expensive and people are purchasing it thinking that they can get the ticket of the party. So and this is the fault not of Ba Metubu but of the party leadership the leadership of the party the chairman of the all progressive congress professor Nenuate Yuata that man right now he has acred a lot of money for the party because a lot of tickets were sold even to people that they know that won't be cleared people they know that should ordinarily not be that form should not be sold to them for instance bought the form the APC definitely the They may have it in their rule that oh we will not clear somebody that have a court case but then bought the form. If you say that oh as a party you don't want somebody that have a corruption case bought the form. a lot of people like that. Although that will go against the constitution because the constitution of Nigeria is presently constituted states that if you are not convicted, nobody can stop you from emphasizing from um kind of like seeking your franchise which is that the right to vote and be voted for. So APC may not want to act against the constitution. But look at it again. APC disqualified anuben governor Simalai Fubara. I will make a video about that.

[00:09:47]Incubent governors are not denied return ticket. They are being granted you know the right of force refusal but APC decide to apparently disqualify Simlay Fubara and before the announcement could be made to embarrass the governor he declared that he's withdrawing from the 2027 gubernatorial election in River State. Now the big deal is Fubara can now come to another political party maybe NDC maybe NDC register as a member of that political party get the ticket of that party and test his popularity in 2027 and not only simal over 70 lawmakers over 70 lawmakers of the all progressive congress didn't get a return ticket that is a staggering amount over 70 lawmakers didn't get a return ticket that amount alone to spread across Nigeria definitely is a significant amount that if the crisis in the APC if it is not well managed by President Ba Meta and the leadership of the party there may be a massive implosion like no other in the party and a state like River State if Simalai truly believes that is a man of the people if he goes to another party definitely people will go ahead to vote that party and mass the only sad thing about Nigeria's democracy is that at the end of the day for win thection ction under another party and at the end of the day you will just decamp to the APC there's no judicial consequence there's no institutional consequence you just carry the mandate of a party or you just wake up one morning and carry it to another political party that itself is what INC should be seeking to stop but INC is not seeking to stop that is seeking to create a law that would apparently favor the APC and now it has backfired but what I can say in all of this is that politicians should be smart. They should act very fast because APC is not sleeping. Don't forget that this particular judgment of the court is of the federal high court in Abuja. That is the court of first instance. They have the right to an have the right to appeal it go to the court of appeal and from the court of appeal they can go all the way to the Supreme Court. And what is needed in this instance is not the judgment of the Supreme Court. is just to buy time for the APC because if the if that judgment is not appealed now people will move out and mass to another political party but if appeals and they get a state of execution the politicians will still be trapped in their immediate party majority of them APC but what I can say is that since it is a judgment of court politicians will act very fast if I am a politician tomorrow morning or right now immediately I will resign from the APC if I lost the party ticket and I will reference that particular judgment of the court that have just been given on that same day. I will act on that judgment to decamp to another political party and to go and hustle for the ticket of that political party. So if politicians act fast definitely they can force a fate and comply on appeals that will be coming.

[00:12:53]But I foresee the INC of um professor the the law professor the um his ink is quite predictable. You can predict what is in neck can do which is that anything that would apparently favor the ruling APC. But I just hope that politicians will act fast. And at the end of the day, I hope the appeal court and the Supreme Court will not go against what is clearly written in the electoral act that parties have 120 days to the election to submit their register. I hope that the appeal court will interpret the constitution that is explicitly written and the Supreme Court will also will also interpret the the constitution. Sorry, the electoral act.
