This news report reveals that a Loudoun County high school student was arrested for allegedly recording classmates in bathroom stalls for three years, affecting over 40 victims, while school administrators allegedly knew about the situation for months before informing parents. The student who exposed the situation by writing on a bathroom wall was suspended for 10 days and barred from graduation, raising questions about institutional accountability and the consequences of speaking up about privacy violations. The US Department of Education is now investigating whether the school system violated federal law and Title IX by failing to prevent and properly address the allegations of sexual harassment.

Loudoun County student says he was filmed in the bathroomAjouté :
WUSA News was the first report on a Loudoun [music] County high school student who was arrested for allegedly recording classmates while they were using the bathroom at school. We also learned that district leaders allegedly knew about it for months or even longer before they told parents. Reporter Nick Minock spoke to one of the alleged victims who is now in trouble himself.
>> It's an invasion of privacy.
>> This Freedom High senior asked that we not identify him. Today, he feels like he's been victimized twice. First by the suspect who allegedly took pictures of boys using bathroom stalls and urinals at school. And now by school officials who suspended him for writing this message on the bathroom wall asking other young men if they were photographed by this person. As you can see, there are a lot of check marks under yes.
>> You being a victim, your brother being a victim, is that what compelled you to write this question in the bathroom?
>> It was more just to figure out how many people he's actually affected.
And just kind of speak up against like the fact that or nothing gets taken serious. And I kind of did it because, you know, we haven't had a voice all year about stuff like this.
And you know, the fear is that he's actually going to end up coming back to freedom.
>> According to sources familiar with the situation, a junior had been recording boys underneath bathroom stalls for 3 years. We're told more than 40 victims are involved and that school administrators were told about the situation long before they're letting on.
>> Admin's been trying to cover it up.
>> The student who spoke with us admitted to writing on the wall of one bathroom.
But Loudoun County Public Schools accused him of vandalizing multiple bathrooms and encouraging others to participate. In a letter to his parents, LCPS wrote that closing four of the five bathrooms during lunch and a transition period caused a disruption to the school community resulting in his 10-day suspension.
>> I mean, granted, yeah, I shouldn't have wrote on the wall, but I get that. I would get a small suspension, but 10 days is what you would get for fighting. And I wrote something on the wall that didn't have curse words. It was nothing sexual in nature. It was a question.
And that's it.
>> But it doesn't stop there. LCPS is not letting him participate in graduation.
>> I was ready to be done, walk the stage with my friends, have my have my um advisor teacher say my name.
Um my parents see it, and my grandma see it. I'm going to have to call my grandma and tell her that.
Because of me speaking up, I'm not going to be able to walk at graduation.
>> That was Nick Monac reporting the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office says the student filmed people in more than just the bathrooms at Freedom High School.
Authorities say they found at least one other location. They didn't say where, just that it's not school. The Sheriff's Office is now asking anyone to come forward if they believe they were recorded in the bathrooms. The US Department of Education is now investigating LCPS to see if the school system violated federal law and Title IX by failing to prevent and properly address allegations of sexual harassment. You can read more about that investigation right now on our homepage.
