[00:00:05]Hi, this is Chris Micheli with this week's Micheli Minute. Last week was slow until Thursday, then we had a federal criminal plea agreement entered followed by Governor Newsom presenting the May revise. By the way, the requirement is actually in statute, not the Constitution, and the duty's on the DOF director. Governor Newsom touted no deficit through July 2028, plus money for ACA subsidies, teacher training, special education, disaster rebuilding.

[00:00:28]Then the two Senate and Assembly Appropriations Committees met to dispense with over 960 suspense file items. The Senate had over 330 measures and a 27% hold rate, while the Assembly had over 635 measures on suspense with a 26.5% hold rate. This week we start towards next Friday's house of origin deadline, about 900 measures between the two houses. Floor sessions all this week including Friday because next Monday is a holiday, Memorial Day.
