Five.
Three.
>> [music] >> Two.
One.
Ignition. We have ignition.
We have liftoff. Liftoff of the space shuttle Atlantis. And we have Shuttle has cleared the tower.
Roger, Houston. Shuttle has cleared the tower. [music] Atlantis you are go for roll program.
Roger, assistant. Go for roll program.
>> [music] [music] >> Come on, baby.
>> Go for throttle up.
>> [music] [music] >> Just moments ago, NASA successfully launched a space shuttle, which will in a few hours propel a state-of-the-art communication satellite into the far reaches of space.
This is yet another milestone in NASA's efforts to influence the worldwide communications industry with their diversification into global communications.
With the launch of the new satellite today, the US cements its place in the communications revolution. In sports, the Blue Jays and the Yankees meet tonight in the deciding game of the American League East pennant race. Watch out, Big Brother. Jeez, Gary, cut that out.
The president's going to have to answer a lot of questions about this launch.
Ooh, I bet they're just thrilled back in DC. Well, they well, you know, there's been some deals made. I can I can assure you of that. The press secretary says the United States is going to share information of all kinds to all NATO countries who don't have communication satellites of their own. Wow, the world sure is becoming a smaller place. Yeah, and the funny part is I don't even have a satellite dish. Me, neither. I got cable.
The Explorer space shuttle is launched into space, and at what cost?
NASA reports launch costs have risen 100% over the past 5 years. Hey, hey, do you think cuz the US will let everybody use the communication satellites if there will be any more spies?
There'll always be spies, just sneakier ones with new technology. Who would have thought, 5 years ago, 10 years ago, that the US would open its top >> You got to go.
Are these launches cost-effective? It's hard to say.
But Congress has voted time and time again to go, go, go with NASA funding.
So far, so good.
So money isn't the object.
Getting US satellites into space is.
And as many as we can.
If space is the new frontier, then the USA is the cowboy that rides into [music] town and tames the bad guys.
I guess science and business do.
No one is challenging the US thus far in their conquering of the telecommunications worldwide market.
Be careful.
>> [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] >> 1.5 degrees pitching.
Keep an eye on that telemetry.
All systems are nominal and on the line.
Okay, the F&B are stable.
Shot gate is clear. Outer shield is clear and thrusters are good to go.
Houston, we're A-OK on all trajectory on board systems, over.
Copy. All is A-OK and good to go.
It's time.
Today is the most important day since the birth of the Diamondbacks.
This is our sacrifice so we can make a better world for our children.
I have faith that it will be our greatest victory.
Remember your fathers and grandfathers that they fought and died for us and our freedom.
And most importantly, God bless you all.
Now, let's move out.
>> [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] >> Yeah.
Keep quiet.
Bring him outside.
>> [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] >> I got to go.
Don't go. I have a big day.
Good luck today. Thanks.
Daddy?
Hey.
>> [snorts] >> Happy birthday.
Could I open my presents now?
>> [clears throat] >> Well, I'll tell you. Why don't we wait till we get home from work?
Okay, but don't forget the cake.
Have I ever forgotten your birthday cake?
Huh? You're the best daddy. I love you, Angel.
I got to get to work.
Good luck today.
>> [music] [music] [singing] [music] [music] [music and singing] [music] [singing] [music] [singing] [music] >> Good morning. This is KIBS 100.7 FM, broadcasting live from deep within the heart of northern California.
And you're listening to the plain talking, God-fearing, lock and load, love it or leave it, Lady of Liberty, Catherine the Cat.
So, did you all read that article in the Gazette about today's space shuttle mission?
Well, let me tell you a little something about that.
That so-called communication satellite that they're sending up is actually a spy satellite.
That's right.
The very same technology that they're using to spy on troops overseas is going to be used to monitor our militia troops right here in the good old US of A. How do you feel about that, partners? Give me a call. Let me know what you're thinking. Call me.
>> [music] >> KIBS Uh, hold on.
Cat.
Rocket Man.
>> [music] >> Hey, Rocket Man. You know, you can get yourself arrested in some countries for that speech you just made.
Well, you know, that's why us cats have nine lives.
Care to share any personal political views yourself today?
Personal political points? No, I think I'll take the second amendment on that one.
Well, how you feeling this wonderful morning?
I feel great. It's my daughter's birthday.
Oh, well, happy birthday to her.
Hey, aren't you involved in this launch today, Daddy?
Well, not in the launch itself.
But we're the primary communication points for the shuttle. What does that mean?
Well, for the entire time that the shuttle is dropping off its payload, what you call the spy satellite, all communications to and from the shuttle pass through our tracking station first.
You are the link.
Correct.
Well, more power to you, Rocket Man.
Ah, >> [gasps] >> I hope this is the start of a wonderful day for all of you out there. Now, here's a song that'll open your eyes, set you straight, and start your day off with a blast. Feel the beat as you continue to listen to KIBS.
>> [music] >> Hey, it's me.
Just saw a huge explosion. Are you all right? My god, we were terrified. The entire house started shaking. It felt like there was a freight train running through the house. Is Amy [music] okay?
Yeah, yeah, Amy's fine. I'm fine. We were just scared to death.
No, okay. Well, I'm going to go to work.
When I get to work, I'll give you a call, all right?
Okay.
I love you. I love you, too.
Bye.
This is Cat, you're on the air.
Yeah, you hear any news off the record on the explosion? Off the record, uh, just that it was at the courthouse.
>> At the courthouse?
It's a pretty big event for our small town.
You know, maybe someone finally got fed up with being assumed guilty until proven innocent.
Yeah, was anybody hurt? Um, I'm still being updated. Uh, KIBS, good morning. Hi, it's UBA for Cat. Yeah, hold, please.
News agency, line three. They want information ASAP. Listen, rocket man, we're going to take a quick break here.
Thanks for calling. Wait. But now, don't go away, cuz Cat will be right back.
This is Catherine speaking. Yeah, Catherine, can you give us any update on the courthouse situation?
>> Okay, sure. The The police confirmed three guards were taken from the building and released several miles from the explosion. No fatalities reported so far.
We heard it was a bomb. Can you confirm this? Yes, it was willful destruction of property. An individual or a group >> what? Was it Was it an individual terrorist or a >> Yeah, we have scattered reports and it's pointing towards an activist organization.
Um yeah, I'll shoot you as much information as I can. Thanks a lot. Mhm, we'll keep you posted. Bye, Cat.
Okay.
>> [bell] [music] [music] [music] [music] >> Morning, guys. Morning, Jose.
Good morning. So, how are we doing?
Everything's on schedule, running smoothly. Good.
Good. Hey, did you hear the big blast this morning? Yeah. What, are you kidding me? Woke up the whole state.
What do you think happened? It's probably a gas leak.
Hey.
We follow you?
Uh not yet. I'm waiting for this thing to off any minute now.
>> Yeah, is Kim okay? Is she doing all right? Yeah, yeah, she's doing good.
Good, yeah, thanks.
Good. She's about to burst, huh?
Yeah, I thought it was her that exploded this morning. So, you think someone blew it up? Are you kidding? Who would have the brains to pull something off that large in this town?
All right. Okay, guys, take care.
We'll check in with you later. Good luck.
Okay, look at this.
Yeah, let's see what we got.
Okay.
So, Dave, tell me, what's your opinion on the government hiding the fact that it's spying on its own people? The government wouldn't spy unless they had a very good reason.
No, no, no, regardless of the reason, at least they should have the guts to stand up and tell the truth about it.
>> Hey, Kat, it's a free country and you're free to leave. I'm pretty satisfied on how things are going.
Well, there you have it, folks.
When will it stop?
Don't we have the right to decide how our tax dollars are used? Aren't you sick and tired of being lied to?
I'm Katherine the Kat. Call me here at KIBS 100.7 FM. Wow, she is like on fire today.
I don't know, she sounds really sexy when she's pissed off on the radio, but I bet she's weighs like 385 lbs and has hairy, sweaty, smelly underarm pits.
I don't know, I've never met her.
Come on, Noah.
Aren't you even the least bit curious?
Nope.
She's just a voice on the way to work.
Yes, I know. I need everything you can get me on this. I want a witnesses, number of fatalities.
God, you're telling me somebody just had their own 4th of July party and I wasn't even invited.
So, I need you to get me everything you can on this, okay?
Uh thanks.
Yes, we have them.
Okay.
All right.
Okay, let's see.
Now, we have them here. All right.
Check that out.
Oh, by the way, but where's George? He's going to turn 100, Ed.
Sir.
George.
Speak with you for a second. Yes.
George, do you always take your responsibility so lightly or just when you have a billion-dollar piece of equipment to monitor?
I was only gone for 2 minutes, sir.
2 minutes? That's all it takes for an all-out systems failure to take place.
You know that, don't you? Yes.
So, George, next time you want to take a leak, you make sure YOU HAVE A SUBSTITUTE STANDING THERE FOR YOU. YOU GOT IT?
YES, SIR.
WELL, LET'S GET BACK to work.
We got a shuttle to deploy.
>> [music] >> Yes, sir.
>> [music] [music] [music] [music] >> Bryce Person.
Yes. Frank Jenkins, [music] head of the Diamondback Militia.
I want you to penetrate the satellite's onboard security system.
Take a seat.
Drew.
We need to uplink and re-jack the satellite before separation.
I I don't think I can do that.
I'd prefer not to have to make you.
The satellite drop is scheduled for 1,700 hours.
Which gives us just enough time to set up the comlink and be in the designated meeting point by showdown.
You're going to take over the shuttle.
No, the satellite.
The timing is important to penetrate the uplink to the satellite through the shuttle.
Then when it's released, we take it out.
If the timing is off, innocent people are going to die.
That'll be up to you.
>> [music] >> Okay, Alan.
I'm going to need your help.
Right.
Okay.
A-okay, Houston. We copy. All is normal and instrumentation checks out.
Houston, we are in geosynchronous orbit over designated coordinates.
We should be ready for launch of satellite information by 1200 hours PST.
Roger, Jim. We read you. Roger that, Explorer. We'll be ready for uplink.
Houston, we are zero minus 39er zero minutes until separation on the payload release. That's affirmative. All systems are A-okay.
Copy that.
Countdown to launch has commenced, Houston.
We have clearance on all circuits.
Shuttle, you are good to go. Read you, Houston. Roger.
>> [snorts] >> Take five.
>> [snorts] >> Careful now.
Pearson. Daddy, can you talk?
>> Amy, hi. You know, no, no, Daddy Daddy can't talk right now. But Daddy, it's getting late. Yeah, no, I know it's 12:30. Yeah. When will you be home? No, I'll be home at 6:00 and I'll I'll bring the cake, okay? Okay, Daddy. See you then.
I love you, Angel. Love you, too. Okay.
Bye-bye. Bye.
What's going on here? Seems to be an interface problem with the uplink channel.
>> he just stole it. Frank just stole it.
NO, HE'S NOT. NO, HE'S NOT. HE'S TELLING THE TRUTH.
IT'S GOING TO TAKE 30 minutes minimum.
All right, now back off.
Come on.
Okay.
Number six.
Yes.
Okay.
>> [sighs] >> Bingo, Frank.
Now we can install information to the satellite computer system and once we've done that, make it do anything we want right from this station.
Well, not exactly.
What do you mean?
All these control panels are set for the frequencies assigned to the space shuttle.
Now, if you want to control the satellite from here, you're going to have to reconfigure this whole panel.
He's lying, Frank. I just know he's lying. No, I'm not lying.
For your sake, I hope you're not.
Look, if you try to use any of these controls now, you're going to throw the shuttle off course. And then mission control is going to wonder what in the hell's going on out here.
Can you reconfigure the control panel without tipping off Houston?
I I don't know.
Just do it.
We're in, Frank.
We're in.
Are you sure?
What the heck was that?
Bill, what do you show as a timeline closer to the shuttle?
Looks A-OK to me.
Are you sure?
Check it again.
Jesus, for Christ's sake.
Don't ignore a glitch like that.
In case you hadn't noticed, you're sitting in Mission Control, Houston.
Still looks good, Ed.
Okay, Bill. I'll tell you what, check with the seismologists down at Caltech.
I need to know if there've been any recent earthquakes, tremors. Aftershocks reported at 12:30 p.m.
I'm on it.
All systems are nominal and on the line.
Okay, F and B are stable. Shock gate is clear.
Outer shield is clear.
And thrusters are good to go.
Houston, we are A-OK on all trajectory on board systems over? Harry, we read you. Explorer, hold on. We've got some housekeeping procedures down here.
Okay, now punch in the alternate instructions to the satellite's on board computer program.
You know, once I do that, there's no turning back. What are you guys going to do?
There's no place to run.
With the technology you're up against, they can photograph and pinpoint a fly in the desert.
Just get on with it. Time's running out.
The system's all changed. There's too much traffic on the line there.
Is that right, Drew?
Uh I think so, Frank.
You know how you can get us [music] out of this, Alan?
It's got to be terminal A or terminal B.
Terminal A.
Don't you mean conduits X and Y?
Probably conduit B in terminal A.
This is going to take me a while.
Well, he's right about that. This station will stay the primary control [music] point till the satellite's launched.
This is mission control. Confirm loading doors are released.
Houston, that's a copy.
Shuttle, what's your ETA for payload launch?
We're looking at 1,600 hours PST, 1,800 hours CST, over.
Just doesn't make sense, sir. There's nothing here.
I don't know what it could have been.
It's not in these reports.
Let me see.
Harry, this is Ed.
Listen, did you experience any abnormal occurrence on your circuitry at 12:30 hundred hours?
That's negatory, Houston.
I'll run through some spot checks and get back to you on that. Over.
No, there is more to this. I don't care what the reports say. I don't buy it.
I don't buy it.
Terminal A and conduit B.
Terminal A, conduit B, right.
Don't forget to flip the switch on the Q panel before you do it. Okay, it's all the same.
Do it, Bryce.
Do you know what really pisses me off?
What's that?
Is it a smart guy like you has no idea what's happening in this country.
Is that right?
What is happening?
That America is turning its heroes into beggars.
What's that got to do with you blowing up a satellite?
I mean, what's that going to prove? That the people are always smarter than the bureaucrats who live off tax dollars while our families are on the street pushing shopping carts.
You know what's wrong with your theory?
If you can't accomplish what you want without shoving guns in people's faces then you're worse off than all the bureaucrats put together.
>> [music] >> Backup systems should come on right about now.
Pearson.
Come on.
What is that supposed to mean?
This is Catherine with 100.7 FM and I'd like to welcome all of our listeners from all over the country who are tuning in to hear about the terrible and wild events in our normally peaceful town.
We have Sheriff Sam Weston here in our studio. And we have now learned that authorities are speculating sabotage by a group or groups unknown. Is that correct?
Uh well, now let me let me rephrase that, Catherine. Firstly, we don't know if it was malicious intent or not. We have the local fire brigade working with the FBI right now and we're working with the bomb squad. It's just incredible that there was no fatalities in this incident. Yes, and now Sheriff, on that note, um you know, we learned earlier about the two guards who were actually the only two humans present on the site who were taken from the scene and released several miles from the explosion. Are we to understand that we're dealing with a new breed of terrorists who specifically target government institutions while sparing human lives? Well, again, Catherine, you realize I cannot comment on that until we have further information and while the investigation is still ongoing.
This is KIBS coming to you live on 100.7 FM.
>> [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] >> Bryce, Bryce, come out.
I don't want to shoot you, man, BUT I WILL IF I HAVE TO. SO, show yourself, man.
Bryce.
Bryce.
Just you, ME. COME ON, BRYCE. [music] >> [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] >> HEY! HEY!
HEY! STOP!
HEY!
THAT'S RIGHT.
YOU'VE GOT TO HELP ME. The two The two guys out there trying to kill me. Woah, now just slow down. Where?
What two guys?
There's a militia group. They've taken over the tracking station. I've got to get to a phone. You've got to get me to a phone. Well, now just slow down. Let's get you out of the sun before it does any more damage.
>> No, no.
You don't seem to understand. You have to get me to a phone. I have to call mission control. I work at the tracking station. You work at the tracking station? You got ID?
Yes.
I'll confirm who I am. Just get me to a phone.
>> All right. All right. I'll tell you what. Why don't you get with me? We'll go in the car to the station and you can make your phone call from there. Fine.
Great.
They've got automatic weapons.
There are about 30 of them.
Please hurry.
Mission control, do you copy?
This is Houston.
We had an occurrence in panel F in the main board terminal. Over.
Okay. Got it.
At 12:30:20 seconds, a [music] complete interrupt.
>> [music] >> Can you do an interrupt?
That looks like something I've never seen before.
Except for that glitch at 12:30.
There's nothing unusual in the onboard computer check out.
There's no spike at all in the mainframe.
We're still working on it from our end.
Ed, we can launch in 15 minutes. Do we start the countdown?
Ed?
Ed?
>> [music] [music] >> Suspend. Suspend the launch.
Suspend the launch. What?
What's wrong, Ed? Come on. Talk to me.
All I know is right now we cannot afford another Hubble-type fiasco.
We're not going to launch a billion dollar satellite to find out if doesn't work.
We need to know what that glitch was.
And nothing else happens until we do.
If we keep that satellite in the cargo bay over schedule, we can crash the onboard computer.
To do an upload's going to lose us days.
Just work on it.
All right. And then you can get back to me.
Hey.
>> [panting] >> This is the way back to the tracking station.
What's going on?
>> [music] [music] >> You called Bryce?
>> [music] >> Frank, sheriff's here.
Get Frank.
Damn it.
Okay.
Okay.
>> [music] >> I've got a package for you.
I'll handle it.
I wish I could kill you right here and now.
It's a war.
And we all got a part to play.
This is your war, nobody else's.
It just became yours.
It might be a decipher a sun bug left in somewhere reappeared here. We did a timeline cross-check on every system.
Exactly 12:30 and 20 seconds. The onboard computer had a brief interrupt lasting only.089 seconds.
All right.
Feld did we get an exact location of where he was No, not yet. We're still working on it.
You know I hate to sound like a broken record, but I don't want to hear still working on it.
I want to answers.
I think we're going to have to bring everybody in on this stat.
You know what? We're down to just two questions.
Where did it come from?
Will it jeopardize this mission?
Nothing's going to get in the way of this mission.
Not while I'm in charge.
Answer it.
Where's Allen?
Answer the phone.
Shut up.
You had been so stupid he'd still be alive. Now, answer the phone.
Pearson.
Bryce here.
So, we got a problem here.
We were wondering if you could be of some help. We had an anomaly occur at 13:30 hours our time.
We were wondering if you two fellows up there spotted anything unusual on your monitors.
I don't remember seeing anything on the monitors. Uh 13:34 is around uh noon our time. No, there there was there was nothing.
Allen was on a break then and um Well, nothing comes to mind. I I I I'll just let you know. I'm sorry I can't be of more help. Uh Perfect. I mean, you of all people.
You didn't see anything? Come on.
Come on, Bryce. See?
This is our baby. What's up?
Look, Jeff.
Um I'll let you know if I I I'll just check the logs. I'll I'll let you know if I see anything, okay?
Okay.
Call me, Jeff.
He's checking the logs.
What the hell is Allen on a lunch break?
[music] When did they start going out for lunch during a mission?
Exactly.
Hey, John.
Yes, sir.
Give me all reports on tracking [music] station Windsor. Sure.
He didn't buy it.
You hypocrite.
You know what you've done?
Huh?
You've turned an unborn child into an orphan.
So, please tell me, would you, >> [music] >> how does that fit in to your your high and mighty philosophy? Would you please tell me that?
That was never my intention.
But nothing, including you, is going to stop us.
You're crazy.
All you guys dressing up like you're you're some you you playing soldier, you know, you're not the real government dude.
You're blind.
As a matter of fact, I could use a man like you.
Now, you want to know what we're really about?
Drew, get the radio station.
This is Catherine, you're on the air.
I'm an American, born and raised.
[music] My name's Frank Jenkins, and I'm the founding member of the Diamondback Militia Group.
We take responsibility for blowing up the courthouse this morning. That was an action taken against a government afraid to tell the people [music] the truth about what's really going on in this country.
This so-called communication satellite launched this morning is actually used to spy on our own people.
It's the last resort of a government out of control.
Well, I think it's my constitutional right and [music] our constitutional right to give the control back to the people, and that's exactly what I'm going to do.
How do you feel about that, Cath?
Well, you seem prepared to risk everything to make your point.
Any real American would.
We're the Diamondbacks, [music] and when we get tread on, we strike with all the power that God Almighty has granted us.
Well, a pretty poignant [music] statement on what some might call the grim reality in our country.
You're listening to Katherine the Cat and one mighty fired up American.
>> [clears throat] >> What's going on?
Someone tell me what's going on.
The short must have damaged the link to the main antenna.
Look, it stopped tracking the shuttle.
I'm going to have to go out to the tower and um and reactivate it manually. Drew, talk to me.
I don't know. Could be.
You're running out of time.
Alan was the antenna expert.
I'll do my best.
Let's go.
>> [music] [music] >> I'm trying to stupid.
I'll look stupid.
Wait here. I'll be on the radio.
>> Okay, look.
What you got to do is you got to pull down this cable with everything you've got. Now, I'm going to go over to the panel over there. When I tell you to do it, do it.
Pull.
No, you're going to have to pull harder.
ALL RIGHT.
WON'T BUDGE.
STUCK, HUH?
UH, we're going to need some help.
You're going to have to call your friend up here.
No.
Steel walls.
Won't work in here. We're going to have to go outside.
Dean, come up here. We need your help.
What the hell's going on out there?
Don't worry. I'm on top of it.
Well, hurry it up.
>> Okay.
Okay.
You see that red button back there on the panel? Yeah. I want you to push it when I call you on the walkie. All right?
That's it. Look for it. Yeah, the red one. Okay? Yeah.
>> [music] >> Okay.
I have to call Drew. We have to activate panel B.
Um >> [music] >> You better let me do that.
Uh, go in. You pull down on that cable when I tell you, okay?
Hey!
>> [music] >> Come on, send that signal. [music] >> [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] >> We have a code 11 homing in coordinates latitude 44° 17' 54" and 134° 34' and 33" longitude.
>> [bell] [music] [music] [music] [music] >> 134 degrees, 34 minutes and 33 [music] seconds longitude. Okay.
It's the goddamn winter station.
Bill, why don't you find out what com satellite 5 is on your board?
Okay, good. Now, let's swing its coordinates over tracking station Würzburg.
Yes, I need all photograph traffic information relayed here ASAP.
>> [music] [music] >> Here's the report, Ed.
Confirms the interrupting calmly came from Windsor.
I know it.
Okay, Bracy.
What the hell is going on?
>> [music] [music] >> Yeah.
We have a visual on the coordinates sent to us.
Looks like an armed group of civilians near Windsor station.
The visual also shows a chase in progress. Okay, thank you.
It's Bryce.
We've been tracking him, for Christ's sake.
Okay, well, this is from the FBI, local police, sheriff.
We need to move on this now.
>> [music] [music] [music] [music] >> Frank.
Somebody reported a disturbance and from the sound of it some real heavyweights are moving in. You better get the boys ready for some action.
Now.
That's something.
>> [music] [music] >> Houston, we're still holding on that ETA for our download. What's going on down there?
We're getting real anxious up here.
>> [music] >> Stand by, Jim.
There's got to be a way out of this.
Let's go.
We have two men up there who are relying on us, for Christ's sake.
What am I supposed to tell Bill?
Sorry boys, but uh looks like you're going to be up there in the stars for good.
I don't want to hear any more excuses.
You got that?
No more excuses.
So, this is going to have to wait.
Operator. Operator, I need to make a collect call to an Ed Gordon in Mission Control.
The number is 713-555-9713.
I'll connect you. Thank you.
I'm sorry, sir. That line is busy.
Um well, try again, please. Well, I can't do that, sir. We're not >> please, lady, for for I need some help here.
>> sorry, sir.
This is the operator. May I help you?
>> Yeah. Yeah. Give me a KIBS.
KIBS, good morning.
Uh he I can't Katherine I need to talk to Katherine right away, immediately.
It's Bryce on line three.
Sounds urgent.
This is a collect call from Bryce Pearson. Will you accept the charges?
>> Yes, operator, I will.
Katherine, it's Bryce.
Rocket Man?
Are you there?
What's going on?
No, I didn't I didn't know who else to call. I need your help.
There's nobody I can trust. I've I've got to talk to you.
Okay, slow down, Rocket Man. I can barely keep up with you. There's a group of militia about to take out the satellite with two astronauts in it.
Okay, slow down. No, I'm not joking here, Katherine. All right, hold on.
What do you need?
I need you to call Ed Gordon at 713 555-9713.
You've got to tell him to override all input from the tracking station.
Okay. Look, I'm going to help you out, okay? I'm going to get these guys on the line. I just want you to get over here right away. Okay, I'm I'm on my way.
Okay.
Katherine?
Rocket Man.
Did you make the call?
Yeah, I did.
>> [music] >> You people are like fungus. You're everywhere.
I'm impressed.
You still don't get it, do you?
You are so wrapped up in your fantasy [music] world that you can't even see reality.
Can't you see how you're being used?
You're sick.
Messed up human beings. [music] Let's go, Pearson.
You're not going back to the tracking station. [music] That's crazy.
You know I have to.
Let's go.
Just wish I could have had you around a little bit longer.
Separation is scheduled in 12 minutes, [music] 48 seconds.
What is the decision down there? Stand by, Jim. We're still working on a new launch start.
Get him out of here.
So, how's the whole deployment getting underway?
Looks like your god damn chief of staff is in on this one, Frank. Hold them off for as long as you can.
>> You can count on us.
Don't make me kill you.
Just make sure the separation goes smoothly.
>> Woo! [cheering] Woo!
Woo!
>> [music] [music] >> Woo!
>> [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] >> Woo!
>> [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] >> You know the trouble with war is nobody ever wins.
This one's hardly over.
>> [music] >> And Price, whatever you [music] do, don't disengage the satellite from mission control.
Well, when we saw it replicating, we decided to crash all the onboard systems. [music] No, no. Any attempt to disable it is going to jam all your control systems.
Just check the D and F channels and see what's happening.
D and F.
D and F.
I told you we've got [music] less than 3 minutes before those thrusters fire up the satellite.
Okay.
Now, here we go.
>> [music] >> Okay.
Okay. Yeah, I know. Let's back off the mainframe.
Okay.
We're ready to see if the satellite database will accept the computer uplink or re-entry time analysis.
Copy that, Houston.
That's affirmative.
Holding on disengage. [music] >> [music] >> Stand by.
Okay, good.
Now, let's see what this baby can really do.
>> [music] >> We have a calming breakup on the system, Houston.
What's going on?
Our circuit boards are going crazy.
>> [music] >> Hold it. Something's happening.
>> [music] [music] >> This is Houston.
Go ahead with the uplink.
We don't read a positive yet.
Okay, now I got it.
Releasing cargo.
This is Houston.
How's it looking, Jim?
Uplink complete. We have an affirm on drop release, Houston.
Yes! Way to go, Ed. No, we copy that.
Copy that. We read you loud and clear.
Price?
Price, you hear that? You did it.
Yeah. Yeah.
Price?
Price, where are you?
Well, >> [snorts] >> well, who said our work was finished?
Come on, let's get this shuttle home, shall we?
>> [music] >> This just in.
The survivors of the military group apprehended by the FBI this afternoon were all killed in an explosion, an apparent suicide, as they were being transported to FBI headquarters.
There are no other suspects at this time.
Oh my god.
DADDY, DADDY!
DADDY!
HERE YOU GO.
YOU GOT MY CAKE. YES, I DID. What happened to you?
>> Oh, well, I guess I'll tell you all about the big fat piece of cake. Can we open the presents, Daddy?
>> Yes, we can open the presents. What did you get me? What did you Yes, yes, we got you [music] a Yes.
Um a horse.
>> [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] >> Mhm.
