PNP - CIDG to file obstruction of justice raps vs Padilla, others, over Bato Senate escapeAdded:
[music] >> Good day. Welcome to The Manila Times, where we bring you stories that shape our world. Today is May 27th. Our top story.
The CIDG is filing an obstruction of justice complaints against Senator Robin Padilla and several others. This is in connection with what the CIDG calls as the escape of Senator Bato dela Rosa following the Senate shooting incident last May 13. The CIDG says it has concluded that the transport of Senator dela Rosa was not a mere hitch ride on Senator Robin Padilla's car. They alleged that it was a highly coordinated pre-planned logistical maneuver specifically executed to avoid detection. According to the CIDG, any act of obstruction of justice will be met with criminal prosecution. Senator Padilla has yet to respond to the allegation.
CIDG and NBI operatives raided a house in a subdivision in Pampanga where Senator Bato dela Rosa was allegedly hiding. Dela Rosa, however, was not found. The raid was conducted in Barangay Balibago, Angeles City.
According to reports, the house was allegedly owned by the uncle of Senator Robin Padilla. The CIDG has yet to release further details on the operation.
