By August 2025 after securing a staggering seven lakh plus record win in Diamond Harbor, he peaked becoming the TMC leader in the Lok Sabha.

Between 2021 and 2022, he and his wife Rujira were repeatedly grilled by the enforcement directorate in the coal pill for scam. Then came the explosive West Bengal school jobs recruitment scam leading to his naming in a CBI chart sheet by February 2025.
