This video presents a detailed review of the Backrooms movie (2026), directed by YouTuber Kane Pixels (Kain Parkson), which adapts his popular found footage horror series into a live-action film. The reviewer, Dan from Dan's Reviews, gives the movie a 9/10 rating, praising its authentic found footage approach, engaging characters (Clark and Mary), and atmospheric horror elements. The reviewer highlights that the film maintains Kane's signature style without Hollywood-izing the content, which was a key concern. The only criticism is a specific monster scene that the reviewer found comical rather than scary. The reviewer emphasizes that the film leaves mysteries unanswered, which is intentional to maintain audience engagement and potential for sequels. The review concludes that the movie successfully captures the essence of the Backrooms concept while delivering a compelling horror experience.

Weirdly AMAZING! | Backrooms (2026) Movie REVIEWHinzugefügt:
Man, so Clark got stuck in the back rooms once. I mean, I bet if he gets out, he would never ever want to go back there again. WHY IS HE STILL COMING?
>> [ __ ] IDIOT. WELL, let's do that again, shall we?
[music] All right, guys. This one's going to be doing a review today. This one's going to be do for back rooms. This one's going to be doing my movie review for one that you guys know I am was anticipating this one quite a bit. This is made from the awesome YouTuber Kane Pixels or as properly known as Kain Parkson. Um who is uh the director and writer for this film. This is the backrooms or I guess they just call this back rooms 2026. So um got a chance to see this opening day too. Wanted to definitely give my thoughts on this straight away. Um this is a insane concept for a movie. I mean I've wanted to see this from the moment that I heard he was doing a movie. I think he nasty was doing a movie like two years ago and from then on I was supportive of the idea cuz I wanted to see what happened.
Now uh this I guess for anybody that may be new to the channel and you don't know me or you never seen any of my videos before I guess I'll give you a small download. I am somebody that has watched Kane Pixels for many many years. I've watched his series on YouTube. He does a really really good job. Very talented young man. Um and he's only like 20 years old. Like he's uh literally only a few years younger than me. So, the kid is is genuinely uh going places in life and I think he's done a great job here and I think that is so impressive that YouTubers are getting their own movies, you know, like Obsession and now this one. And I've seen few other YouTubers over the last little while uh put out some of the better movies of the year to be honest with you. You know, sometimes the people that don't have all that much experience, but they got the right idea, you'd be surprised on what they end up doing. So, um in terms of what I thought of this movie, I thought that this was awesome. This was really, really good.
Now, I only have one one issue with this movie that I think really could have been executed better. Everything else I thought was amazing. I thought everything else they did in a really really great way. It was creepy. It was scary. It had a lot of really fun stuff to it. The characters were engaging and the actors were good. And I overall had a really, really good time with this film. Now, this movie follows kind of a found footage vibe for the first little bit of the film. Um, you have a kind of discovery back in the 19 uh 1990s where it's this found footage of these people going through the halls, going through the back rooms for the first time and discovering everything, right? And that's like the first, I don't know, give or take 20ome minutes of the movie.
And I loved it because I felt like I was watching a new episode of Cane Pixels.
Now, if you're new to it, and I realize that there are some people that have watched this movie, they've hated on it.
They just don't like the idea, and they they're calling it a big old piece of trash. And I've I've seen a whole bunch of stuff, but if you're familiar with Kane's work like I am, you'll know that one of the things he's skilled with is the found footage vibe. That is what he's known for. That's what he's good at. And I thought opening up the movie and presenting it in that way at the very beginning, I thought was an awesome, awesome way to start. And it threw off a lot of people, I noticed.
But I was like, "Nah, man. This is this is good. This is what I wanted. I wanted to see him adapt this because here's the thing. The found footage stuff in his own little series." And I would highly recommend you guys watch his series because it's really really really good.
Um, but you know, this kid does this from scratch. He's not actually there.
It's all all computer. It's all stuff like that. And now here he is doing a live action of these people, you know, uh, filming all this stuff going down.
So, you see the '9s for the first little bit. Then it transitions to the actual plot of the movie and you get introduced to Clark who is a store furniture store owner basically and you also get introduced to Mary who is basically um like his you know therapist that he goes to see and he's opened up to her more than basically anybody else. Uh he has uh lost his wife not by death but she just separated from him. Um, and Clark is kind of showing some signs of, you know, kind of not being 100% mentally stable and Mary is trying to kind of get a hold of kind of what's going on with him. These are our two main characters and the actors are uh she will tell uh Ojafor um I'm sure I'm butchering his name, but he did a really good job as Clark um and Rinade uh Renv uh for Mary.
Probably butchering her name as well, too. They got some very unique names. Uh we've also got Phil, we've got Bobby, we've got Cat, we've got um Narin, we've got Pirate Clark, um and we've got a whole bunch of other stuff like that.
So, um there's a lot of uh fun characters in this. There's a lot of really fun characters. I'd say the standouts were for sure Clark and Mary.
Um Phil was pretty good, too. Bobby was, you know, there and stuff. He was all right. Um I think in general, this movie did a good job, though, because, you know, they kind of show this guy's life falling apart. He only really opens up to her. Then you kind of get to the portion where he goes in there and he ends up uh going into the back rooms.
Now, this is level one that he goes into. He goes into like, you know, just the first portion. Um, and he's walking around. And I like that the movie kind of let you sink into it. They didn't just, you know, get to it right away.
No, like they let you explore this stuff. They let you kind of see all this. I love the details, too, like the one stop sign that was there, just like in his series. Um, furniture in places that don't make any sense. things in places that don't make any sense whatsoever and it just doesn't really add up. You know what I mean? It doesn't like make any sense. And I like this too because then you kind of go further in and then you get kind of him that discovers that this place like you can't really get out. He tries to find a way out. It's a big struggle. And as the kind of movie progresses, now this is kind of like, you know, you watch these horror movies and you watch a lot of these scary things and it it always kind of happens in basically any piece of media that you end up watching where somebody's in a dangerous environment and they just can't help themselves after they get out once. They feel the need to go back again for some unknown [ __ ] reason. And this movie does that [ __ ] as well. Not going to flaw it because every goddamn movie does that, but I was like, "Dude, do not go back, you out. But he goes back. Of course he [ __ ] does. Of course he goes back. Um he manages to get out once and then he brings two of his colleagues with him the next time and he goes in and then one of his colleagues ends up dying and then it's this really crazy scene where the dude falls like this, you know what I mean? Down this like crazy pathway and I was just like, "No, [ __ ] no. [ __ ] this." That was crazy. Um, so the one dude ends up dying and then obviously he ends up um stuck in there and then Mary has to see for herself what this is. So she goes to the the furniture store, then she ends up going in there. She ends up trapped in the back rooms and this is when the movie just goes from like, you know, crazy to like nuts. Like genuinely [ __ ] crazy. Um, Clark ends up really losing his mind in there after a while. He ends up going absolutely mental and when Mary finds him, you could tell he's not really doing so well. So, he ends up tying Mary to a chair basically and you have all these like people from the [ __ ] back rooms in there with like these like these multiple eyes and [ __ ] It was [ __ ] creepy. And essentially she's tied up and she ends up kind of saying like you, you know, you haven't been the same for a long time. You know what I mean? and she tries to kind of talk her way out of it. And essentially, now, okay, this is the one part that when I watched this film, I got to be honest, I kind of laughed out loud. I kind of laughed out loud at it a little bit. I was kind of like, "Okay, this isn't scary." This this [ __ ] This part I I was kind of sucked out of. I'm not going to lie.
which is the portion when you have the monster that comes up and it's like a big version of Clark and it looks just like him and it's like a different version of him and that version of him kills Clark and that's how Clark dies. I was like, "Okay, I understand this has to be scary. I know that this is in a location that is like supposed to be creepy, but I just nothing about that was scary to me. I just the way he died was fine, but I thought the overall scene was goofy. I don't the monster that looked like him. It was just [ __ ] strange. I I wasn't scared. I was admittedly kind of laughing when it happened. I didn't find that was anything terrifying whatsoever and a little bit ridiculous. I thought it was a little bit comical. I'm not going to lie. Um, now after that, it's down to Mary. Mary's the only character we got after that. So, she ends up running for her life. Really creepy sequences there.
Um, I really liked all that stuff. And then basically where you get this like kind of like guy that's like this like scientist dude that ends up kind of watching, you know, the backroom stuff occur over this film. He ends up getting in contact with her at the end of the film. And you basically find out that the back rooms is basically like it's almost like it changes every time and every person that goes in there and it's things from their previous life, their old, you know, life that they it's like memories almost in a weird way of stuff that they've gone through. And the back rooms changes for every single person that goes in there is basically kind of what they break down. Um, and I thought that was interesting. That was an interesting concept. I think that kind of makes sense because, you know, there's stuff in there that when you go into the back rooms, and at least this is kind of the way I viewed it when I was watching Kane's series back in the day is, you know, some of it is just randomness, but then there's oddly those things that you see in the back rooms that weirdly seem familiar, which sounds weird to say, but that's kind of the thing that I like about the back rooms, and that's kind of what I enjoy about it. But yeah, Mary's the sole survivor of this movie. She ends up getting out, but she's the only one that does. Clark is dead and the rest of them are dead.
At least as far as we saw. So that's kind of where we left ourselves here with with Backrooms, at least this, you know, first movie. I don't know if they'll do a second one. I don't know if they'll continue this. I guess it just depends on the performance of this film and kind of how it all does. Um, in terms of what I thought and in terms of how I thought they did it. You know, I'm probably going to surprise a lot of you guys with the rating that I have from this movie, and it's probably something that a lot of you guys are not going to expect. I'm going to go ahead and give this a 9 out of 10. I really like this movie a lot. Um, honestly, you take out a little bit of that weirdness with that monster that killed Clark. I found that was a little like, what are we doing?
Um, it it wasn't scary. I didn't really feel much for that, but I you know, his death was still pretty insane. Aside from that though, aside from that quite weird sequence. Um, I liked everything else that they did here. I like that the soldiers came in there, you know, the people in the suits came in there, got Mary out at the end, got her, you know, in questioning and stuff. Um, I thought it overall wrapped up very well, you know, and I I heard a lot of people saying that, you know, they watch this movie and there's there's a lot of hate for this movie. Unfortunately, there is a lot of people that don't like this movie. A lot of people are saying that it's, you know, not scary, that it's not interesting, that it's, you know, boring. I've heard a lot of people say as well, too. And a lot of the things that people say as well is that the characters weren't gripping, which I disagree. I think the actors did a good job and the characters were very interesting for what they had, you know.
Um, I in general think that they did a good job and I think the actors really brought it home, honestly. So, no, I I had no issues with the acting in this at all. I had no issues with the characters in it whatsoever. Like I said, you take out that kind of weird kill for him and I think you have yourself a 10. Um, but I'm going to stay at a strong nine. I think it's a damn good movie. I think that for a first movie that Kane has done, it's a damn good effort from the guy. And that's why I'm giving it a nine because honestly, I think in terms of what he did here, the found footage, he stayed true to what he did. He didn't try to change things up for Hollywood, which is one of the things I was nervous about going into this is that they would try to Hollywood this up and it wouldn't be as interesting. No, the the the found footage was scary and the way that they filmed it was scary and there were some chase scenes in this that were scary and I do think that Clark and Mary and the rest of that crew was good. So, um I think in general I'm landing at a nine.
I think it's not like obs it's not as good as The Obsession. I think The Obsession was definitely the better horror film this week for sure, but I think this was a fun time honestly. And when I got out of it, I was like, "Okay, I got what I wanted out of this. I got a creepy movie." Um, I saw a lot of people also saying that they were mad that they didn't answer everything. And that's kind of another thing I guess I'll kind of bring up here is that you're not supposed to get the answers all laid out to you on a silver platter. It's kind of like a lost situation or a from situation if anybody has watched those TV shows where the back rooms and even in Kane's series that he's doing on YouTube, which I'm looking forward to his continuation of that. I'm definitely going to be watching that as it kind of continues through. I'd recommend you guys get caught up as well. If you like this movie, check out his series. It's really good. Um, there's not too many parts. It wouldn't take you too long to get caught up. Um, but I just really like the way it was done and I like the way that they didn't tell you everything. They told you some things.
We definitely got a lot more lore on this than I was expecting to get, but they didn't tell you everything about this place. And I think that's good, you know, because if they ever want to come back for a sequel and if they want to do a continuation of it, I think that kind of leaves the door open for that potential, you know. So, I came out of it very happy. I'm going to go ahead and say, "Yeah, no, you should see this. You should definitely check this out." And for all those that say that it's boring or dumb or stupid, I highly disagree.
Like I said, I only had one part that kind of stood out to me as a little bit like, okay, that's a bit odd. Aside from that, I liked it. I thought it was a damn good film, and I think they did a really good job with it. So, let me know your thoughts. Great job, Kane, for doing your thing, and uh, you know, doing what you love, bro. Honestly, I'm I'm really glad that this movie turned out well. And in terms of hopefully it performs well and hopefully it does well at the box office because um, I think it definitely deserves more. I think we could get a sequel with maybe some new characters. You could bring Mary back if you wanted to and give her some more screen time if you wanted to. Um, that's kind of optional. Of course, I'd say you could just do a new cast for the for for another one if you were to do one. And if this is the only movie we ever get out of this and you know that's what it is, then hey, it's it is what it is. I think it was very enjoyable. So, let me know your thoughts.
