Artificial intelligence is revolutionizing filmmaking by enabling the creation of movies without traditional production elements like lights, cameras, or actors, as demonstrated by 'Dreams of Violets,' which cost only $2,000 and took just 2 months to produce; however, this technology raises important questions about balancing cost reduction with creative integrity, as evidenced by creator backlash when Amazon MGM Studios announced AI-animated series without human input.

AI-generated movie "Dreams of Violets" cost $2,000, took 2 months to make, director saysAdded:
It's hard to imagine a movie made with no lights, no cameras, and no actors.
But that movie is now here. Dreams of Violets, fully generated by artificial intelligence, is set to premiere next month as AI remakes the world of entertainment. CBS News senior business and technology correspondent Jolene Kent has more.
>> AI is stealing the Hollywood spotlight.
Dreams of Violets. The first ever fully AI generated docu drama premieres at the Tribeca Film Festival next week.
>> There's no way for me to go get millions of dollars to make this film.
>> Director Ash Kusha says the film cost just $2,000 to produce and 2 months for AI programs to generate all of the film's imagery. No cast, no crew, and a fraction of the money and time it'd take with traditional movie making. Amazon MGM Studios this week announced three new kid series written and voiced by humans but animated with AI tools. But after facing backlash, the creator of one of the series, Punky Duck, pulled out just two days later, posting, "I am absolutely understanding the concern of using AI to assist an animation pipeline." and Lauren Brance, the creator of another character, Cuppy, sharing on Instagram that she's horrified and disgusted that the AI series is moving forward without her input. It's kind of that balance of how can it cut costs, which a lot of people hope it will do in some avenues, but also not impinge on creativity.
>> We reached out to Amazon and have not yet heard back. And also here in Hollywood, Netflix, one of those big streaming giants announcing that they're starting a new animation studio inhouse that will create AI generated content.
Tony, >> very interesting. Jolie Ken, thank
