Tiny House Build (Episode 36) We're Ready For Spray Foam Insulation.

[00:00:31]Oh, welcome back. Oh, and I had to go out and buy the cheapest table saw I could find.

[00:00:42]I got to cut I got to rip the board that fits up in here.

[00:00:48]I got like six boards I got to rip.

[00:00:52]And then also I got to cut around these post.

[00:00:57]I have a jigsaw for that, but I needed to uh get a table saw that ripped the board down.

[00:01:10]Last week there was a couple of days that I was just in a horrible, horrible mood.

[00:01:19]and uh everything was going wrong.

[00:01:28]I deleted almost all the footage because it just just wasn't me, you know.

[00:01:37]I was just in a horrible mood. But anyways, tell you what I got done. I have some video that I saved that I'll share, but let me show you what I been working on.

[00:01:52]So, I got the ceiling finally done.

[00:01:59]I got the fans up.

[00:02:02]Got that light fixture up.

[00:02:08]And I'm not sure if this ceiling just put me in this god awful mood, but I think I'm not sure if you guys know or the ceiling was half done from here over right before the fan over and it was nothing but a struggle.

[00:02:39]I'm not sure, you know, from here over these boards were stained, but they were sitting inside the house and it's like an oven in there.

[00:02:55]And I could not get those boards together.

[00:02:58]The groove would not fit in the tongue.

[00:03:13]It was like the wood was swollen or something.

[00:03:20]My arms are killing me trying to maneuver that stuff.

[00:03:32]Anyways, yeah, that was I don't know if that put me in a really bad mood, but I put another camera up there and another camera down there. Um, yeah, I'm not sure because I fought with it for three days and I finally finished it and feeling much better.

[00:03:59]The grass is coming in, but we do have this like brown. It's not burnt grass, but it's it has like a weird texture to our mildew, maybe. I don't know.

[00:04:14]We did throw another 50 lb bag of that contractor's mix on it cuz there's a couple bare spots.

[00:04:27]I'm going to jinx myself, but this stuff is pretty easy to grow.

[00:04:33]We started here because it was such a muddy mess. I'm hoping that it's going to help out.

[00:04:39]But we still got around the whole house to do down the side of the driveway, out front of the where the property meets the road, all over here.

[00:04:56]But they still got to fix this issue over here. We're still having a water issue.

[00:05:08]You can kind of see where it's coming down this hill and it's just going this way and it's going around the back of the house.

[00:05:17]But there's no point of seeding it if you want to be digging it up. Every morning when I come out here, especially days that I record, I'm always pacing the first half hour.

[00:05:33]You guys end up walking with me up and down the porch, in the house, out of the house.

[00:05:42]So, the inspector's coming back today.

[00:05:48]Hopefully everything goes smooth and then the uh spray foam guy says just give us the heads up when the inspection's fully complete and we'll get there by the end of this week. So hopefully if the inspector comes early enough today, we'll be able to get the spray foam people on the schedule.

[00:06:13]Everything got pushed back because of the the plumbing failure.

[00:06:19]Um, so there's things I got to do most importantly is to get uh I guess this blocking this blocking here is for a floating shelf. Rose wants to add another floating shelf to the top of this.

[00:06:41]And This one has to get moved down. She doesn't want it higher.

[00:06:50]And I think I need to add another one there. So, she has two floating shelves over here.

[00:06:56]Oh, no. She's not doing two floating shelves over here. That stuff can stay.

[00:06:59]Or I can take it out. She's doing two here.

[00:07:04]So, and then I got to get blocking in for the the vent hood for the gas range.

[00:07:17]And then I got to figure out how I'm going to vent it.

[00:07:25]I got to come up out there, go across the ceiling.

[00:07:30]I like to be above the ceiling, but I ain't going to be able to get it in there.

[00:07:35]Over here would work great.

[00:07:39]Maybe I can do that. Maybe I can go through there. Come down here and then drop down and then go in.

[00:07:48]All right, I guess we can got to get going. Oh, my punch list keeps on getting longer and longer. This doesn't have to be done right now because it won't affect the spray foam people. But I decided I wanted to put an attic access. There's not much of an attic up there, but I think it'd be nice to have access up there to keep a lot, you know, maybe look at the roof for see if there's any leaks or anything. And then also, uh, if I ever need to run a wire, my electrician put a future pipe here that's just open.

[00:08:28]So, if you have to fish a wire down into the panel, at least we would have access.

[00:08:37]And I'm just not sure where I should put it.

[00:08:41]Rose is thinking, well, here in the living room, I mean, and here in the bedroom.

[00:08:46]So, I want to build a two foot by two foot square opening and then lay, you know, maybe a a 24 in piece of plywood down the middle.

[00:09:02]So, that definitely has to be done before drywall.

[00:09:06]I don't think it needs to matter for the spray foam, guys. And then I'm going to build a little box here, a little box here that the drywall guys can just dry around drywall around and leave it open.

[00:09:25]And I'm going to send a pipe down this way, tie into the top of that box, and then run all my camera cables down that pipe.

[00:09:40]And then I'll have like a little square that I'll finish off with. And I'll finish it off with uh some pine or something and just have all the wires coming out of that.

[00:09:52]So that has to be done before drywall, too.

[00:09:59]I got a list that's going a mile long.

[00:10:02]And then also I gotta build my crawl space door because the encapsulation encapsulation. I don't know how you pronounce it, but uh they're going to be coming over to finish off the crawl space. And I like to have a door on there once they finished. All right. I suppose I'll get at it today. All right.

[00:10:56]So Gary's going to kind of changed my mind a little bit. I was just going to have one shelving here all the way over. I don't want this all the way over. We have a door here.

[00:11:20]And then we're going to come over here and we're going to do the same thing with two shelves here.

[00:11:28]no shelf here because we have the the stove and the hood and the fridge and I think I'm just maybe a picture or something here to kind of So, we'll see.

[00:12:51]But now after doing the whole ceiling and the on the porch, all that staining and oh my god, that was just so much work. People make it look like it's so easy. But um we might just go with regular drywall for now and then decide later or But next week might be something different.

[00:25:09]So, this is our job to do today to get that out of the way. We got to clean out the house. Get everything out of there so they can come in and spray foam tomorrow.

[00:31:10]>> Exactly. Why vacuum it? It takes me a long time to vacuum this little house.

[00:31:17]>> Well, that too. And it's not like you're doing a quick back and going around furniture if you had to. But so is this job done?

[00:31:28]>> Yeah, I think that job. Yeah, I got the bottom mount where the hood's going and then the upper part. I got that figured out.

[00:31:37]>> Your floating shelves are done.

[00:31:39]>> Yeah, those are done.

[00:31:41]>> So I think I think we're good to go there.

[00:31:46]What we >> you got to uh uh Thursday or Friday. We got to spray foam around the windows.

[00:32:03]>> No. Could they use a big gun and small stuff? That gap and stuff.

[00:32:09]>> We just got to spray foam around the doors, the windows. This is all before drywall.

[00:32:14]>> Yeah. Okay. I can ask them if they do that, but I'm almost 100% positive they don't.

[00:32:20]>> Yeah, >> we just got to apply a couple cans of spray foam and >> let it harden up until we get it saw it all off.

[00:32:28]>> Yeah, I seen that.

[00:32:32]>> All right. Did they say what time they're coming? Tomorrow.

[00:32:36]>> They get to the shop at 7:30. They're about an hour and a half away.

[00:32:41]>> Wow.

[00:32:42]>> She said between 9 and 10.

[00:32:44]>> Okay. It just gives me an idea with Angel. Make sure she's all set going outside because they're going to be here for a few hours.

[00:32:54]>> No, not if they have to >> this tiny home.

[00:32:59]>> Not going to be here an hour. I'm saying about 3 hours.

[00:33:26]Make sure uh we got everything covered here, everything done because this spray foam insulation is going to be coming tomorrow, which we already said three times, I guess.
