This presentation elegantly bridges ancient architectural evolution with early 20th-century documentation through its rare use of vintage stereoviews. It offers a sophisticated, dual-layered perspective on how we perceive and preserve the foundations of human civilization.

The Pyramid at Saqqara, Egypt #museum #history #arthistoryAdded:
The image you see here is the steep pyramid of Sukura in Nij, one of the oldest large stone structures ever built. Before the smooth pyramids of Giza, there was this built more than 4,600 years ago by the king of the third Egyptian dynasty. The steep pyramid began as a flat tomb called a masta.
Then it was expanded upward layer by layer creating the steeped shape we see today. This was a turning point in ancient architecture. It became the bridge between early Egyptian tombs and the great pyramids that came later. And in front of this old photo, you can see a young boy and a donkey, a quiet reminder that history is never just stone. It is also people, daily life and the world still moving around
