Proper wheel alignment (camber and toe settings) and aerodynamic balance are critical for optimal vehicle handling; a car with misaligned suspension and excessive drag from a poorly designed rear wing will exhibit understeer, require excessive steering input, and feel slower than stock, while correcting these fundamentals transforms handling characteristics dramatically.

She Built This GT3, We Fixed Its Scary Handling!追加:
So maybe tomorrow we can give it the change because this is it's dangerous, >> brother.
>> Yeah, that's so much better. And now it feels like a Porsche. Woo!
There was a takeoff. Actually a takeoff.
>> Where you going?
>> No need to be embarrassed. It's not that bad. It's not that bad. We're going to fix it. Don't worry. At least we're going to try to fix it.
>> Well, >> do you know if it has a camber adjustment actually? Any like arms? Can we do anything even there? I actually don't know if the suspension hold I mean we should be able to do at least something at the top.
>> Okay. Oh, you have the top mount.
>> Yeah.
>> Do we need to do this?
>> No, you don't. It doesn't actually work.
[laughter] >> Just avoid that there.
>> All right. Can we open it then?
>> I'll get >> Yeah. Let's have a look at this uh fancy sduct.
>> It's not.
>> It is. It's uh it's basically GT3 RS, but if you take out the radiators, there you go.
>> There you go.
>> Nice. So, >> so what suspension is it?
>> Yeah, it's suspension.
>> It has some.
>> Yeah, >> it's only 30 mm.
>> Yeah, it's fully in. Yeah, it's fully out.
>> Yeah, it's So, it needs to go completely opposite side. So, we'll we'll we'll get it started.
>> Okay.
>> Yeah. And we'll go for another one. But yeah, this car I must say is actually has impressed me and Lapo when it comes to the finish because you guys built it by yourself, right?
>> We did handcrafted.
>> Yeah. All handmade. You can check out Aby's YouTube video because you see it there and it's actually mind-blowing. Uh but when the car came here, we were like, "All right, this is literally better than some competitor stuff we've seen because the Veno make carbon parts and sometimes we're like a h this is actually yeah bit uh not really yeah not not really that that's why but this is like smooth. I mean this wrapped so you don't know what's underneath.
>> Of course, >> it still looks good underneath. I promise. But shapewise, it looks very, very good for a homebuilt one-off car.
Mhm.
>> So, started this life as a Turbo S.
>> Y >> kind of still is Turbo S.
>> Yeah, it is like it just doesn't look like a Turbo S, but it is still Turbo S underneath. Yeah.
>> Yeah. Yeah. So, 560 >> 580 brake horsepower.
>> 580 horsepower. Uh, and yeah, powerful.
Well, the only thing is, I mean, we've done a lap. I've done a lap [snorts] and it's without a doubt one of the worst steering cars I've ever driven. So, but yeah, the body kit at least is good.
>> It looks good.
>> Yeah, it looks good. But in terms of steering, we need we definitely going to put it on the alignment bench and give it the alignment and the lap it deserves because on the turn in you just need to steer so much and nothing is happening.
So, we need to check check the camber.
We need to see what the toe position is and everything because the car felt slower than the stock Turbo S.
>> Yes, that >> Yes, it is. [laughter] It is definitely dragging on this massive wing because this is something you have done yourself as well.
>> Yeah, exactly.
>> Yeah. And uh there is definitely big parachute on the back happening here. As you can see, it's like it's like a one and0 gurnie flap.
>> Yeah.
>> So, it's like uh it's that. But that aside, again, like in terms of shape, it's very well done. So, go and do the alignment, see what's what, but I would say you guys first enjoy the lap. Also, later check out Aby's video to see what was built and what was done to it. And then we're going to do an actual alignment and do for the lap, too. And actually, I haven't said anything about the specs of the car. So, what is it aside from a Turbo S and own body kit and tires of Falcon and >> Is that really? You kind of nailed it.
Yeah.
>> Yeah. There's not not much. Not much.
It's a bit stripped, but yeah.
Different. It has comfort seats because usually you run proper like race car seats with ears, but that's not allowed here on the ring.
>> Yeah, we had to change all that. We We built the roll cage ourselves, too. It's bolt in, bolt out.
>> And then is that for the net, safety net?
>> Yeah, for a safety net, which is down in here. Oh, >> okay. So, proper race car.
>> That there.
>> Nice.
>> You can clip in.
>> Yeah. Very cool.
>> Mhm.
>> Like a like a proper race car. That's nice.
>> Yeah. We we try to go as one of one as possible, but let's keep it on the road.
Well, for Irish roads, not German roads.
[laughter] >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. [gasps] >> So, >> all righty. Well, you guys enjoy the lap and then later, let's do the alignment.
>> All right.
We passed the wing wipe check. So, that's good. Surprisingly, yeah. Not to put the card in my pocket.
We'll be getting on the track. So, quick disclaimer, the car does not have a working paddle shift to go down.
Usually, Porsches are extremely good to downshift by themselves or keep the gearbox in optimal range. This is going to be one of the very few times that I'm using automatic mode for the gearbox.
So, it can downshift for me and upshift.
I think DJI, you're going to go in the bin. Going to start the GoPro again.
All right, up we go. We have speedometer miles per hour, but luckily we have also draggy. So, uh, we can show you the kilometer per hour base.
Need to put a lot more steering because of the wide body. Steering is really not direct.
Come on.
Power is good and the straight line stability as well, but the turn and we're missing quite some rotation.
Come on. Chop, chop, chop, chop on the gas.
So much under steer. We saw it today. It had like positive camber.
It really needs alignment, man.
That's the biggest downside cuz I'm turning in and the car is not doing anything.
That's unfortunate.
Could be quite a potent weapon.
Come on, turn.
Come on. I just need to rotate the car with lift up over steer. Awesome.
But the speeds are good, man. Missing turn in so much.
That's really sad. Maybe we can give it an alignment and go from there. Um, there's like no reaction on the front axle.
Oh, thank God there's a yellow flag cuz Yeah, really unfortunate.
I mean, we had the car on the lift today uh because the boost pipe came off on the way to Germany of this car. Had it fixed and from the eyesight, it looked like maybe almost positive camber, but the workshop was fully booked to do anything with it. So, maybe tomorrow we can give it the change because this is it's dangerous.
But at least very good straight line stability. I'm very comfortable because you need to do steer so much with the steering wheel. So the car does actually something.
And more important thing, it goes straight even in the corners. Although the turning is just so slow, it's stable.
Come on. Almost opposite lock down force to be easy through here cuz it's no high speed corner stability unfortunately.
Come on.
Come on.
It feels like the car wants to fall over its wheel. That's how much camber there is in the wrong side.
At least the brakes are fantastic. Those turbo Oh, well.
The other being that the car is missing is a proper loud exhaust because this has the essence of a cop car or RSR or a race car, TT3R, you name it. And it's actually too comfortable to match the the looks. But first thing, of course, we're going to check if we can do the alignment cuz this is something like we might include the second lap in this video. Going to see if love or Andrea are kind enough to do it.
They are local people so they are going to stay maximum on the rides.
So we can go for the pass here.
Another yellow. Wow. Well, I guess we're definitely going to do a second lap.
So, I want to drive this car in a way that it deserves to be driven. It feels like there's a massive track, which wouldn't be uh surprising because it's a homemade wing made out of lollipop sticks, so it feels actually slower than a normal Turbo S.
How much steering angle would I have to put in the carousel? You think?
I think a lot.
Almost opposite clock.
Come on, turn.
I don't ask for much today or in general.
No photographers are not going to do the whifflement challenge. Makes no sense with this alignments anyway.
Heat. Heat.
Heat. Heat.
la.
I guess it's the end of the day, so people start pushing to go for that one fast lap because the track is clear and yeah, then things don't go according to plan.
All right. So, uh the verdict on this particular car.
Hello there.
And well, considering the fact that it's a self-built, it's one of the much much better self-builts and rebuilds I've experienced or witnessed.
The alignment is horrible, but in a very safe way. You just need to turn so much.
But yeah, if something goes wrong, how you going to counter steer? you need to counter steer like triple the steering input that you usually do or fivefold or anything. So the good thing is is that the car drives straight but it doesn't turn. So we need to fix the alignment.
The second thing it does feel slower than a Turbo S and that that has to do with a homemade arrow which looks great but far from functional. It's just stalling the car. There's just way too much drag all over. There's so many dragging elements that Yeah, but you can do your own conclusions. You can compare the acceleration with another stock Turbo S and see what it does. But this is not what it should be. Um, so yeah, overall good and bad. We're going to try to fix the alignment. I hope we have time in our workshop because it's like one of the busiest weekends of the year. Going to see if we can do it.
And then definitely go again and show you also what was wrong cuz that's nice. Oh, DC5. I'll be driving that tomorrow.
>> Fast forward.
>> Hello.
>> How bad was it?
>> Well, it was completely uh on the positives.
>> Yeah.
>> So, it was like plus all the degrees.
>> It was like uh 3.5 max camp.
>> Plus or minus.
>> Yeah. Plus or minus?
>> Yeah. It was basically >> Yeah, we didn't even bother checking because they were like fully there.
>> So, for next time for the assembly, you want to go the other way.
>> Shaky, shaky, shaky.
>> How about now? Oh, we're doing like a sandwich.
>> Sandwich. [laughter] >> It's not working.
>> It's not working.
>> Well, you have negativity.
>> They're open in the back.
>> Completely open.
>> Like a lot.
>> Yeah.
>> I don't know.
>> How much?
>> Maybe not full. But it's a long >> 11 toe brother.
>> You definitely have active toe in the back.
>> Active toe. Oh yeah, actually on the >> Yeah, >> that's why it's also not moving forward.
So the car has active rear steering and active passenger/d driver sitting in there. Uh so we should be able to adjust the toe as long as the car is ignition is on. Then it's in neutral state. What are we doing?
>> We're lubing lubing the bolts.
>> Yay. Shout out to Ravino.
>> I don't die.
>> So, how bad is it actually now that we put the system on?
>> It's not that bad. You have 3.3 in the in the back in camera, which is basically spot on. And then a bit more toe uh on one side and one which is okay on the right side. So, I just match these two.
>> Yeah.
>> Then in the front, I max out the camber.
So, you have 1 and 1/2°.
>> Okay. Uh, of course by maxing up the camber you then you open the suspension so I have to bring >> So now that Yeah, the toe is also completely up.
>> Yeah.
>> All right. Well, nice.
>> All righty. Second attempt with a homemade GT3 Porsche GT3R race car, Porsche, you name it. After fixing the alignment, like it was really, really, really, really bad. uh and taking the wing off.
So, it will be interesting to see what kind of speeds we'll be doing now, especially also acceleration. So, luckily we're running draggy. So, use code for extra discount for your telemetry on god draggy.com.
Let's see. It feels the alignment feels better.
Acceleration I think as well like already even though on the street we didn't do much but it feels better. So, let's go.
That's the turbo s.
Oh yeah.
Yes.
We have absolutely zero wing. Not even the factory turbos. So, so it's not ideal, but I prefer this than this massive parachute that was there. We're having some some alignment. We can steer. We can go through the corners. Could you imagine that you would be more confident without the wing than with?
That's the power of arrow and alignment.
Woo!
So good.
Now you can see the top speed difference. The back end is quite light I must say. But luckily we have three engine layouts.
So it keeps everything in place. Washing out for the car with the rain lights.
Yeah, that's so much better. Now it feels like a Porsche, not like don't know what.
There was a takeoff. Actually, a takeoff indicated. So, we're good.
Maybe there's a yellow flag here, I think.
Oh no, maybe it's gone.
Thank you.
Maybe here. No.
just began ahead of me. I drove it and it's amazing. Such a great build. Such a great setup.
Thank you.
Heat up here.
Heat. Heat.
Heat up here.
Heat.
Heat.
Heat. Heat.
Heat.
Heat.
Heat. Heat.
Heat.
Heat.
Heat. Heat.
It's interesting. Wow.
With four people in it. I'm not sure if it's cool or unsafe, but Woo!
There you have it, as it should be.
Now it's a great car.
And what did we learn today, kids?
Looks can look great, but it can be deceiving.
The basics are very important. You start with the alignment. It's better to have well aligned stock car.
And arrow is like magic.
It there is so many things to it. It's not just you have something on the back.
There's a aerrow foil shape, the size, the dimensions, the whole CFD, the whole balance of the car, and that's all there is to it. But hey, in essence, this is not a track car. This is a show car, a personal car.
So, if this was built for track specifically, then I would say like, hey, come on. But as a personal car built by itself, great job. So, uh, yeah, but if you want to track it, alignment is fixed now. It would need a different wing, possibly different splitter, but overall, you can probably compare the speeds what we're doing on straights, in the corners, and also the steering input, the most important one. It was actually like really nice to drive now. Amazing.
Really, really loved it. So, yeah, on that note, hope you guys enjoyed. Thank you Abby for the trust. Thank you Ben Collins the stick for connecting us. I'm happy we could make it happen. And actually it was very nice to uh do the whole thing. The before and like this isn't working. Let's try to fix it. And you you can see just the alignment and just taking the wing off transformed the car. Transformed in unimaginable ways.
So, if you're building a track car, make sure the basics are covered.
So, yeah, epic, epic, epic.
On that note, going to try to do two more laps with other cars. And you guys give Abby a sub, a follow, question mark in her comments or something like that.
And yeah, on to the next one.
Bye.
And if you're watching Aby's channel, give me a follow and sub and leave a good Google review for all the work we've done. [laughter]
