A VTuber named Mimi Yanagi was arrested in the UK for commissioning artworks depicting lolicon characters (characters that appear as children but are depicted as adults), with police raiding her home to confiscate her dakimakura, anime figures, doujinshi, and Discord accounts as evidence. This case highlights the intersection of free speech, artistic expression, and legal boundaries, particularly regarding content that depicts minors in adult situations. The video also discusses similar legislation in Texas (Senate Bill 20) that bans obscene visual material depicting children under 18 in sexual conduct, even when no real children are involved, with penalties ranging from state jail felonies to 20 years in prison for repeat offenders.

VTuber Arrested in the UK Over “Controversial” ArtworksAdded:
A VTuber was arrested in the UK for commissioning certain artworks. Hope you guys hit the like subscribe if you guys enjoy our topics on Tuesdays and on Fridays. We also do writing videos on Sundays. Always try to mix it up with art with all different kind of things.
We also upload these shorts of like these sketches and also new paintings that I've been working on. I'm also working on uploading like digital artwork, but in a in a good way where it's not like super like quick and it's like what what am I looking at kind of thing. But uh yeah, so I'll be uploading those guys. Hope you guys hit the like subscribe and let's begin the topic. All right guys, so looks like artists or an artist was arrested in the UK because uh for for them having what I understanding is loli con type work. So, let's just go right into it right here. And it says right here, "The case worsens. The UK police not only arrested a VTuber Mimi Yea Yana [music] Gee, they also raided I'm I'm getting raided her house to confiscate her dakimakura, anime figures, and doujin. So, artist friends revealed that the the authorities uh emptied her room taking away absolutely everything of her otaku stash as criminal evidence. Even took her Discord. Curiously, they left her video game accounts cuz I uh I I don't think they can really have any grounds [music] to take video game accounts, but they are taking all that stuff away like all that anime stuff and everything. Now, why would they do that?
I guess they found out some artworks that were not okay that uh she possessed, but uh here is more context.
So, this is the more context exactly but I pretty much what happened to Mimi.
"Good afternoon. Bun Bun sincerely apologize for absence. Mimi has been a long story to tell. On Monday, April 20th, Mimi was arrested by the UK police for possession of her artwork. Her artwork alone, she currently on bail pending the outcome of criminal investigation into her accounts and activities. All her devices were seized as a result of her arrest. As a result of her bail conditions, Mimi has to move to a new account and is required to use a hider name on her new account that her bail officers have to agree to. The account in question is Mimi Yabai with a double I uh or I think that's a misspelled thing.
But, for her bail conditions, her activities for the foreseeable future have to be both safe for work and fully transparent in in order to prevent a breach of her bail condition. Mimi apologizes sincerely from the bottom of her heart for letting all you down and disappoint you in such way. Which I don't know what she let down, but I would say the artwork is very very questionable.
Because guys, I I I'm I'm very honest about this. I'm not a fan of lolicons or lolis, whatever you want to call it. I'm not a fan of lolis. If you guys know what a loli is, is a pretty much where it in in Japan where they draw a character kind of like a little kid, um but they make them seem like they're an adult because like they they're they've been alive for a while, they're demons, they're they are like just just they just look like a little kid, but they're adults. Like this been going on for a very long for a very long time it seems.
And uh [music] that's not one of my not not my favorite things at all like to see lolis uh because I think it's just super freaking weird. That's why the one reason why I kind of even stopped watching um what's that one anime? The Seven Deadly Sins cuz there's this guy that was like an adult and he was like in love with a fairy, but it was like a little kid, but she was uh like a thousand years old. Like I don't know. I I I So, looks like there's more context to this by the way by the friend. It says right here, "I I guess this is uh is it public I can say now. Mimi came to [music] me and Momo uh Momo and I I first to talk about this because she uh she's our close friend.
They took everything her dakis I don't know what that dakis her figures, her doujin, her Discord accounts, everything except her game accounts." Continuing, "This exists Twitter debates. Britain has become a a totalitarian state. Uh Mimi needs your support now more than ever until she comes to to the US or another place. She's stuck uh not able to consume any media her government deems problematic. This is the stuff in 1984 warned us about." Well, continuing, "What was the specific drawing of for reasons no one will say or post what it was. It wasn't a specific drawing if I don't know where you guys got this idea from. Mimi used to commission not for safe work of her character, that's about it. They didn't like that." So, I will go a little bit more further and show you guys the examples of the artwork that I could find on online.
They're safe for work for the most part, but I'm telling you guys right now, they're for to me personally they're a little bit disturbing. So, here is the character in question right here guys.
This is the Mimi character that she created for VTuber. I think it's weird.
It's a loli.
Um I think it's like not my, you know, my my No, like I think it's weird. But, it's extremely off not 100% when you first look at it, but like when you start like thinking about it, wait wait, it's like a little kid and dressed like that. That's like that's even more weird. What is more weird is [music] well, let me go to the other side real quick. As you can see, they have necklace, right? Cuz they have the necklace here.
But for some reason, they have panties in transparent version.
Why would they need that? Like like you know what I mean? Like that like like I'm Again, I'm not a fan of it, right? I'm not a fan of it, but it's like I understand that people are arguing that the sense of like damn the UK is really coming down on these like people in general like um like arresting him for like free speech and and creativity, I guess. Um again, I'm not a fan, but it's like I understand like the 1984 uh reference, right? So, like I I understand why people are conflicted. I I I 100% get it guys. Like just because I don't like this type of content or this type of artwork, I I I would not tell people what to do.
That's just one of my things I'm like I don't like it. I just don't want to look at it. You know what I mean? That's just me. Actually guys, I was going to use a different image like there I did found another image, but I cannot put this on YouTube on this YouTube video. Uh I find it disturbing. Uh that's just me personally. I find it disturbing. I'm not putting it on the YouTube video. So, we're just going to continuing because uh me finding about like her account obviously has been blocked like it has been protected and stuff >> [music] >> uh because, you know, obviously she's probably getting quote unquote harassed.
Also like it's part because of her bail bail conditions too as well that we just read. So, she has a different account right now, but this right here is officially like no one can really see anymore. It's uh fully officially protect uh like blocked. Like no one can see until the investigation I guess drops or something like that, but yeah.
Guys, but we do have a similar kind of law in Texas by the way. So, this is like was passed I I believe it was last year. It was the Senate 20 I believe it was called. So, right here it says what it what the Senate 20 bill bans is pretty much a obscene visual material that appears to depict a child under 18 years old engaging in sexual conduct.
Crucially, it applies even if no real child was used. And examples are drawings, anime, manga, and video games. Uh other things like that content was created also using with AI or other computer software. The character is technically as an adult in the story, but looks like a minor.
The criminal offenses would be possessing obviously as a such material with intent to view it, promote or distribute the material, produce or create the material. Penalties of violating this law is a serious offense typically starting as a state jail felony. First offense can lead to 6 months to 2 years in in state jail.
Repeat offenders obviously get to 20 years in prison." [music] So, like I said guys, it it it looks like it's happening right now in UK and this was passed last year in Texas.
Obviously, people are are kind of like were arguing about this one because it had like very like vague language. It says right there vague language. That's what the criticism that it had about the Texas Senate Bill 20. But yeah, this is not a new thing I guess within Texas guys. So, it's like who knows where how many more of these will be passed around the United States, but looks like but in the UK looks like this is the first time you ever seen someone actually get arrested for this kind of stuff like at least publicly like the VTuber thing.
So, this is like crazy. It this is very crazy. So, yeah, UK is coming after artists guys. I mean, it is what it is at this point. It I mean even like I haven't heard a also like someone being arrested in Texas right now. So, that's that hasn't happened yet with their like new laws and like vague language and stuff like that. Look, I'm all for like not people drawing certain obviously aspects of things. Like I feel very uncomfortable in so many ways. Uh but like I said, I'm not a fan of it.
I'm not a fan of it. I'll keep saying that and I will never try like no. But, I understand the other side of the argument about uh not for sake of like this, but more for sake of like free expression of drawing artwork like not for safe work. I'm not talking about lolis things like that. No. I'm just talking about like not for safe work cuz that's always been a controversial topic in general uh within furries, within adults, within all that kind of stuff. It's always been a controversial thing and I understand why it's controversial and I understand why people want to have the freedom to draw those kind of things. Again, I I find it extremely weird, but that's just me personally, right?
But, this this whole video like it's it's kind of crazy what I've seen online and what people are arguing for and what they're not arguing for. It's like they a lot of people are kind of going with what I whataboutism. I'm not even going to talk about it, guys, cuz again, this my channel's not for that. But, there's a lot of whataboutism [music] like what about this, what about this, what about this, but like the let's just talk about the topic in hand, right? Let's just keep it into like this right here. So, but like I said, um I am not I am surprised that someone actually got arrested for this.
But, is that a good thing or a bad thing? I'll let you guys decide for you for yourselves. Let me know in the comments below. Hit the like, subscribe.
This is a crazy story, guys. I I This is I think this is one of the first I've ever seen an artist being arrested for this kind of thing. And or it's not even an artist. It's just a person who commissions other artists to create weird images, in my opinion.
Uh and so like since they're not from the UK, they cannot get arrested. But, since this person is commissioning this kind of stuff are from the UK, they get arrested. So, again, should the artist who created these images also get in trouble? But, then again, they're not from the UK. That's where it gets tricky right there. But, if they're from Texas, well, now that they have a I think they may have probable cause to get them in trouble or something like that. I mean, as as far as I know. I could be completely wrong. But, let me know in the comments below who is at fault here.
Do you think the UK is taking it extreme? Do you think the UK has the right to do this? Do you think is is the fault of the artist who's taking these commissions? Is or do you think it's the fault of the obviously the commissioner who commissioned these type of images?
Let me know in the comments below. This is a crazy crazy video.
I yeah, it's a crazy it's a crazy story.
It really is. And I'm I'm very curious what's going to happen in the future, cuz right now they're out on bail. The investi- investigation is still happening. So, I'll see you guys next time. Peace out. Much love. And I'll see you guys on the next stream. Bye-bye.
Oh, next stream. Bye. Next video. Bye.
