[00:00:31]Hey yo. Hello and a very warm welcome to a new game on the series. It's time to play Drain Sim. That's right. Uh we went from having our toilet blocked to sorting out this.

[00:00:43]Right, cool. Brand new game on the channel. A physics-based water game. I cannot wait.

[00:00:49]That is right up my street. Let's complete the tutorial first. Open the map. So there we can see the map. White circles highlight the approximate locations of the storm drains. So we can see there's a few storm drains on there and there's a a white mark there which looks like a broken pipe as well. Right, let's go pick up the rake and carry this on. I have seen a few people play this game. Bits of the game anyway.

[00:01:17]I bet it's where this big highlight is and I bet that highlight's not going to last during the rest of the game. But there's our storm drain. So now we're going to press our rake down and try and clear out all this gunk. Get it going so that the water can keep flowing. Right, that's not working there anymore as well. So let's give it a little shift.

[00:01:35]And let's clear that up and there we go.

[00:01:37]We've cleared the storm drain and now the water is draining out of there. And find the next storm drain. There's one over here.

[00:02:27]The idea of a drains and stuff like that, such a simple idea for a game. Uh you can see this is already built up a little bit, which is just going to slow it down a bit. So, let's just clear it up. And there we go. Open the map again.

[00:02:38]Okay, in the red regions on the map define where the water needs to be removed. So, we can see the majority of it on the street, but we can even see the map updating at the top of the street cuz it's all draining down here, which is great. We've got We've got a little bit more on there. Let's give that a clean again. There we go. Make sure that's clean. Make sure we can get this car out. It's clearly stranded. Uh right, it's saying go to the backyard.

Okay, clearly we are um we are not the best neighbor in the world, but let's uh let's send this water out, shall we? Let's make a little tunnel here to get the water into the neighbor's yard.

[00:04:24]Oh, man, it's so satisfying. I love physics-based games, man. And uh when I saw this, I was like, "Yeah, this is right up Grim Street." Uh simple puzzles. Like it. Uh this is just a tutorial, but I thought I'd show you it all, man. Show you our starting progress and then how far we can get later on.

[00:04:46]There we go. Got a lot out already. We can widen this up, but I'd assume. Uh we don't need to cuz it's not lower there.

Thankfully, we have a trusty bucket. Let's go. Uh scan the remaining water. Use the scan action to find the remaining water. There we go.

[00:05:09]So, with a click of the tab, we can see that the backyard water is here and it's probably is filling up ever so slightly with the rain. It's a right click here to scoop up some water. So, let's get rid of that. There. Sweet. And another one.

Okay, let's let's put it in the back corner and see. Uh, bring the hose outside. So, now we've got a hose for the pump. Okay, now will it reach all the way up here?

So, there's going to be more updates to this and uh, mate, it just looks so fun. So, I was just like, let's do it. Tap to turn on hold to pick up.

They're there to stop the main drain system getting overwhelmed, so we can see it going ever so slightly there. Let's degunk these, even though it doesn't look like there's a lot of water here. And if I press that, we can see actually yeah, that's not really effective. There's a tiny bit here, so we might as well, but we've got a lot of gunk build up right there.

[00:08:15]Storm drains, let's go. It's now telling me to pick up a squeegee.

[00:08:23]And with the squeegee, hold the secondary action to move the water to the drain. So, we can see a lot of the water is over this side here. If we get up our our map, and there's a load here, actually.

[00:08:41]And then push it, and there we go. We're getting a bit of a bit of build up there.

[00:12:26]Well, we've got 1,300, so I'm thinking we go straight up to Mark III. We get a better pump cuz I think that's going to be useful. Uh and we've already got one generator here and uh where's pump Mark III? There we go. Make sure that it's in there. Sweet. It weighs a lot more, but that's okay. We'll see how more efficient it is. Compare it to the Mark I.

[00:12:45]Let's start the mission and see how it goes. The Midtown Market, use a nearby river to get rid of water quickly. Uh the loading can take a little bit of time, so um Oh, it did on the tutorial. Uh so, hey, man. It gives us a bit of time to chat.

[00:13:00]Um hope you're all doing well. I am So, Hull I come from Hull in the UK, um a place on the coast. And in 2007, we had a lot of rainwater, man. A lot of rainwater that came down over a couple of days, and I was actually working at the city hall at the time um as a technician. And we got a call to say that there was going to be um that there was going to be an emergency evacuation center.

[00:13:27]So, um canceled was the show that we were setting up for and suddenly we were setting up beds in the main hall, making sure that everyone had somewhere to stay. And um yeah, man, that's part of my experience with floods. I'm sure I'll tell you more about that as we explore this level.

[00:15:50]And then it it was mad because floods really affect people, man. It's it's such a devastating um thing. We had like people coming in from a lot of care homes who'd like lost photos and stuff like that. It was awful to see, you know. Um so, yeah, man, these floods were absolutely devastating, and there was there was a dude actually in in Hessle, and he had his community was like flooding, and he was his house was flooding, and he um Oh my.

[00:18:27]Oh my. Let's check on map again. Okay, we've got some drains to clear out, so I guess that's the starting point, isn't it? So, let's get them cleaned out first.

[00:18:42]Little drains. And he went out to clear a drain like this, and he got caught in it, and he ended up like passing away because of it, which is devastating, and it it really can be such a devastating um devastating effect on on both the community.

[00:18:59]When Yeah, when I was working, man, we had people in care homes. We had this funny story, actually. There was two of the lads >> [laughter] >> cuz he was he was doing kind of anything he could to help really to these people.

[00:19:09]I mean, you wanted to get them inside and give them a cup of tea, do what I mean? Uh here we go. We've got another one here.

[00:19:14]Um cuz that's sometimes what people need when it's sort of devastating like that.

[00:19:19]But they um yeah, they were really funny a lot of the people. Like in in as best spirits of the canon and appreciative of like, you know, being in a position where we can we can keep them warm. But yeah, it was sad, man. Sad to see people cuz they lost like photos of their loved ones and stuff like that. And to see old people that have lost photos of like memories from years and years. It's just awful, man. Absolutely awful.

[00:19:43]And I remember there was um there was a dude. And this was 2007, so different times. It probably be a different case now. There was a dude who um who had really bad legs. In fact, I think he was missing a leg. And then he the he arrived on a bus. And uh two of me two of the people I worked with went to go help him out. And they said, "Oh, if you can lift him in, that'd be great." Cuz he in that situation, you do what you can.

[00:20:09]And um And they said, "Yeah, okay. We we can we can lift him in."

[00:20:12]And uh so the the girl either side of him and they started lifting him. He was a very very quiet bloke. Very quiet bloke. And uh they'd gone and and started lifting him.

[00:20:20]And he >> [laughter] >> he won't move. And they said, "It's He said, "Excuse me. Excuse me." And he says uh They says, "Yeah, is everything all right? You know, you okay?" And he says uh He says, "No, no.

[00:20:37]So even in uh even in darker times, you can have uh you can have good spirits about stuff, man. You can have good spirits about stuff. But it was an emergency evacuation center for that entire week. I'm just clearing out the basic gunk now. Okay. I think that's good. And I think we've probably got them all. I'm going to put it in this corner, and but instead of pumping into the street, we're going to try and pump it straight into the drain. Cuz if you look, there's like a See that where it like folds in? It like goes straight into the drain. So, it's probably a good way to do it. Lightning.

There's also time challenges in the game if we wanted to. Um I don't think we're doing a bad job right now, to be honest, and I don't know. I'm I'm not a huge fan of time challenges. I mean, they're fine.
