From a pre-tribulation dispensational perspective, current Middle East developments including Iran's weakened but still hostile position, the Abraham Accords normalizing Arab-Israeli relations, and the Russia-Iran-Turkey alignment represent 'stage-setting' for Ezekiel 38's prophetic coalition against Israel, rather than immediate fulfillment, as the prophetic framework describes a future invasion by Gog of Magog's coalition including Persia (Iran) when Israel is dwelling securely, with God intervening to destroy the invaders.

Is Ezekiel 38 Coming into View? Iran, Israel, and the Prophetic Road AheadAjouté :
So, here's the big idea. And the big idea is very simple. We're not trying to force today's headlines into Bible prophecy, but we are watching. We're watching the world carefully, and we're doing this through the lens of scripture. And right now with the weakening of Iran, the shifting alliances in the Middle East, and the growing Russia, Iran, Turkey connection should cause serious Bible students to pay attention. Let's investigate.
Well, welcome back to the Dogeared Disciple Channel, my good friends and brothers and sisters in the Lord, my visitors. So glad you're here with me today. I'm so very grateful for all of you. But you know that if you've been here uh sharing and visiting with me for some time, so grateful for all of you.
So, thank you so very much for joining us as we look at some current events and Bible prophecy and studying God's word together.
So, the question is, is the Middle East moving towards Ezekiel 38?
Now, Iran, known in scripture as Persia, hasn't disappeared from the prophetic picture. Not at all.
Many had feared that with the United States and Israel attacking Iran that they would no longer be available or around for Ezekiel 38. But I think that's not something we have to worry about. What has happened is that their ability to dominate the region has been greatly diminished next to nothing.
And that matters.
Iran, Persia, if you will, remains very dangerous. It's unfortunately its regime is still in power. Its missile and drone programs are or at least they're trying to restock and rebuild.
Some of its proxy groups are still active.
But some recent developments have raised uh raised some eyebrows and raised some important questions.
And and that question broadly is, are we indeed watching the early stage setting for the kind of world Ezekiel describes?
Now, let me be clear here again. We're not into date setting here. This is not sensationalism that we're looking at or looking for. And we are not at all claiming that Ezekiel 38 is being fulfilled right now. However, from a pre-tribulation and dispensational viewpoint, and we are a pre-tribulation and dispensational channel, we do believe the Bible gives us a prophetic framework for understanding where history is heading.
And when the nations begin moving in directions scripture already described, we should take notice.
Now, one of the most important developments in the region is what we've already been discussing, and that is Iran's role as the dominant bully of the Middle East, having been reduced, though not completely ended.
The regime is still hostile towards Israel, violently hostile. It still supports terrorism as best as it can.
It still dreams of global regional and global conquest for Islam and their hoped for madi their version of Messiah.
know its strength, its influence, and its ability to intimidate its neighbors and the world has all but been crushed. Now, again, this doesn't remove Persia from Ezekiel 38. In fact, Persia is specifically named as part of that future coalition that comes against Israel.
But it may help explain how the region could shift into a completely different arrangement before that conflict takes place.
Now there is another important development in Iran today at this recording. Internet access has been reopened inside Iran and more information has reached the outside world.
The world is seeing more clearly that Iran's ruling powers are not only a threat to Israel and its neighbors in the region, but they are also an oppressive force, a murderously oppressive force against the Iranian people themselves.
Now it shows that Iran's regime may be dangerous outwardly.
It then they are dangerous outwardly, but they're also in they're unstable inwardly. And their people want liberty and freedom. And that kind of instability uh could very well be part of the broader stage setting that moves the Middle East towards the conditions Ezekiel describes.
Now, at the same time as this, there's renewed discussion about expanding the Abraham Accords again, uh trying to get some sort of normalization between Israel and the Sunni Arab nations.
Uh, President Trump of the United States and his broader regional vision has aimed at drawing Arab states into open economic and security cooperation with Israel uh via the Abraham Accords. Now, that kind of realignment uh would likely isolate the hardliners.
uh it would strengthen regional trade hopefully, at least that's their hope, and create a new security structure in the Middle East.
But the obstacles are still significant.
There's, you know, thousands of years old, thousand-y old grudges. Um, there's the basic call of Islam to exterminate the Jews, you know, and Saudi Arabia and Qatar continued to insist on an irreversible pathway to a Palestinian state before any kind of normalization or full full normalization with Israel. They want Gaza. And I mean, there are problems.
There's Gaza. There are there's is Israeli domestic politics and those issues and of course the Palestinian issue. There's t there's rising tensions over Jerusalem and the Temple Mount. All of these things are still major flash points.
So we're looking at two realities at the same time. At the one hand, there is a strong push towards a normalization, towards trade and cooperation.
And on the other hand, the region is still filled with unresolved problems, tensions, and they could erupt suddenly.
So that combination is worth watching for us to continue to keep an eye on.
Now, the prophetic framework here of Ezekiel 38:39, uh, for those of you who studied these prophetic things, this is this is kind of a a rehashing, but for those who don't, Ezekiel 38-39 describes a future a yet future invasion of rea of reathered Israel by a coalition led by Gog of the land of Mog.
And that coalition includes Persia which is modern Iran along with re uh along with regions many many prophecy teachers associate with areas connected to Turkey, Libya, Sudan or Ethiopia and other surrounding powers. Now this invasion comes against Israel when the nation is described as dwelling securely.
The attackers come for spoil and plunder.
But it is God himself who intervenes and destroys the invading armies on the mountains of Israel.
The result is that the nations know that God, he is the Lord.
Now from a dispensational viewpoint, this event is distinct from Armageddon in Revelation uh 16 and 19. And it's also distinct from the postmillennial Gog and Magog rebellion in Revelation 20.
Now, most pre-tribulation teachers place Ezekiel 38 and the conflict there either shortly before the tribulation or or early in the tribulation.
And that exact timing is is debated, but the overall direction is clear.
Israel is reathered in the land in unbelief. There hostile powers align against her and God intervenes for his covenant people. So we what we're seeing today, we're seeing stage setting, not fulfillment. Persia is weakened but still hostile. Russia and Iran, Turkey continue to draw closer in ways that resemble the direction of Ezekiel's northern coalition. Israel continues to grow economically, militarily, and diplomatically, and some Arab states appear less interested in joining an anti-in uh Israel invasion and more interested in regional stability, trade, and economic partnerships. Now, this brings us to an important detail in Ezekiel 38:13.
We're talking about Sheba and Dedon who are often associated with the Arabian Peninsula. Uh they are described they are not described as part of the invading army. Instead they question Gog's motives. They ask whether the invasion is about taking spoil and plunder. And that's very interesting and very significant.
If Sheibba and Dan connect broadly with parts of the Arabian Peninsula, then the modern movement of Gulf states towards trade normalization and cautious cooperation with Israel becomes very interesting.
It becomes very interesting because it fits the general direction of the passage of scripture.
Some nations appear to stand outside the anti-Israel coalition. They don't join Gog's invasion. They question it. They seem more concerned with wealth, trade, and stability than with destroying Israel.
And that may be one of the clearest prophetic patterns we've seen in some time. Something worth watching right now.
And of course, no discussion of Middle East prophecy is complete without Jerusalem.
The Temple Mount, the Palestinian issue, and the status of Jerusalem remains some of the most explosive issues on earth.
So even when leaders talk about peace and security and trade and normalization, Jerusalem remains the pressure point. And that reminds us of something very important.
Talk of peace and security can exist right alongside sudden instability.
And that's why believers need to have mature watchfulness.
We don't need to chase headlines. We don't need to make reckless claims.
But we also don't ignore major developments when they appear to fit the broad prophetic prophetic architecture scripture has already given us.
So for the believer, the proper response is not panic. It's expectancy.
The church is not looking for God. We're we're looking for Christ. We're waiting for the blessed hope and the appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ and the catching away of the church.
described in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18.
Now, these developments remind us that the world is moving toward the tribulation period, but the church is waiting for the Lord.
Now, God's covenants with Israel are irrevocable. His prophetic word will not fail, and the nations are moving exactly where scripture said the last days world would move. So we watch, we pray, we test all things, we reject date setting, we preach the gospel, and we live like we're waiting for the bridegroom.
So is Ezekiel 38 coming into view? I believe the answer is yes.
It's not a fulfilled event yet, but as a prophetic pattern, it is clearly, in my opinion, beginning to take shape.
Iran or Persia has been weakened, but they have not been removed. ArabIsraeli normalization remains possible, but complicated.
Russia, Iran, and Turkey continue to this day to represent a very concerning northern alignment, and Jerusalem remains at the center of global tension. Now, this doesn't mean the war starts tomorrow. It doesn't mean the tribulation has begun. Certainly not. But it does mean that serious Bible students should be paying attention to these things. God's prophetic plan is moving forward. The stage is clearly being set and for the believer that really should produce clear thinking, faithful witness, joyful expectation and even so come Lord Jesus. Now before we close, the most important issue is not whether you understand every detail of Bible prophecy. The most important issue is whether you have believed the gospel of Jesus Christ.
The Bible says Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures. That he was buried and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures. That my friends is the gospel message in 1 Corinthians 15 1-4.
Salvation is not and cannot be earned not by religion, not by good works, not by your church membership or personal effort. It is received by faith alone in Christ alone.
He paid the full price for sin.
He rose from the dead and he offers eternal life as a free gift to everyone who believes in him.
So place your trust in Jesus Christ today. The world is moving very quickly, friends, but the door of salvation is still open.
And before you go, please help me spread the gospel. You know, on this channel, our main purpose is to vigorously point people to Jesus Christ, to the gospel of salvation, to the blessed hope of the church, and the truth of God's prophetic word while there's still time.
