[00:01:01]All right. How we doing? Good morning, man. Getting a lot of text messages, uh, a lot of messages talking about how dark, how black it is and on the west side. Let's pop up some cameras here.

[00:01:17]Um, not a lot of folks on here just yet, so I'm going to go ahead and just uh I'm probably going to repeat myself until we get a lot of folks in here. But in the meantime, just know that got some heavy rain. No severe thunderstorm warnings just yet, but I do have some some heavy rain rolling through.

[00:01:38]Um, I've got cameras essentially all over the place. This is what it's been looking like. Port Clinton. Now it's starting to brighten up in Port Clinton.

[00:01:47]So that's uh that's plus. That's good news. It's been raining like crazy out there.

[00:02:00]Dark in Akran. Here's Worcester. Getting darker. Akran getting darker. Yeah, these clouds. Let's get straight to it.

[00:02:10]Here it is. This is what I've been talking about this morning. this rain as well west of us rolling into well really some some pretty untouched air. The good news is this is going to be working over the atmosphere and using a lot of the fuel. So this is going to limit the severe threat where you're getting the rain this morning heavy rain. Later on today we're still going to have some more development. We're still going to have the potential for some strong storms, but it's going to it's going to limit which is why the biggest potential the highest threat for severe weather was always going to be south and east like we've been talking about for the last couple of days. So, heavy rain right now, no warnings or anything, but this right here is a uh the little tan box you're seeing around it. Let me show you what we have. This is a special weather statement. Essentially, what it is is it's basically the National Weather Service saying it's a strong storm. There's heavy rain with it.

[00:02:55]Doesn't matter how heavy the rain is, though. There's criteria for severe thunderstorm warnings, meaning there's criteria criteria for damage, and that's one inch hail or 60 mile per hour winds or 58 technically. We don't have either one of those. We don't have large hail.

[00:03:10]We don't have big wind. It's gusty, don't get me wrong, but the the winds are staying underneath severe criteria.

[00:03:15]So then they start to issue these these uh special weather statements.

[00:03:22]Yeah, lot of lightning. Lot of lightning. Um Kimberly Aaron, tons of lightning on the East Lake shore. There's so much lightning with this. A couple hundred strikes just in this view right here. What? 315. So, all this lightning up over the lake shore, talking east lake, it's all going to slide on in. Heavy rain. This is like um north northstead, west lake, you've got Vermilion. Uh no, Vermillion's back over there. You've got Avon Avon Lake, Bay Village, Lakewood, you're in on this next. Parma, you're going to get on that heavy rain as well. and all the way up along that this the snow belt lakes shore Uklid Bratton Payneesville Menor Ashtabula heavy rain no warnings with this no warnings at all it's not it's not that damaging windy you know I mean there's still some gusts out there I can pull these up here for you some of the gusts out over the lake 40 45 it's windy it's not damaging So, no warnings yet. Wouldn't be surprised if we see some.

[00:05:20]Mike says it's dark in Akran. Wow, it's dark outside, right? Big thick clouds rolling through. Let me put some more cameras on here. Nothing damaging with this, but it is absolutely impactful for sure. I've got See if I can pull up the Cleveland camera that goes from our Hilton.

It's going to give us some potting on the roads. It's in here early, so not expecting it to stick around all day, but oh my goodness.

[00:06:26]Yeah, just running through the parking lot back here. Tons of rain. I had to peek out the window just to see for myself. Peek out the back door. So, you're seeing it. We're seeing it. We're all going to see this rain.

[00:06:40]Flooding is a concern, but because it's here early and it's going to get out of here relatively quickly. I got rain on my glasses. Didn't mean to do that.

[00:08:42]I'm just going to track the bottom edge of this going about 30 35 puts it in uh Bedford within the what time is it now? It's 8:18 right now. So in the next five minutes Shaker Heights already light rain in Shaker Heights but the the heaviest rain should arrive in about five minutes. Woodmir just after that at 8:20 29 Pepper Pike same time Orange 8:30 uh Hunting Valley and Morland Hills by around 8:35. So you've got about uh 10 15 minutes if you're there if you're in like Hunting Valley before the heavy rain rolls in.

[00:09:31]But it's already raining light rain. You probably already hear the thunder.

[00:09:42]So severe wh this is what I want to show thundering in Kyogre Falls. Yeah, dark in Doylestown, Wayne County. So no rain yet uh yet. You will soon.

[00:09:55]The severe threat for later on today.

[00:09:58]Again, this is just heavy rain up over the over the lake shore right now. Heavy rain, quite a bit of lightning as well.

[00:10:03]There's a cluster right here. And what this is doing is it's kind of it's kind of eating the energy. It's eating the fuel. It's working over the atmosphere.

[00:10:11]After this rolls through, we might get a little bit more in the back side of it, but it's this is really kind of best case scenario, honestly, because it's working. Oh, hold on. Ginger's up. I got to stand by and we've got our own little potential for some flooding this morning. Heavy rain rolling through. Look at this. Just right now on the morning commute pushing through Kyhoga Lake into Giaga and Ashula counties. A ton of lightning and some heavy rain with it. less farther south, but that's where you have your higher severe threat for later on today.

[00:11:38]That means we're getting impacted by it and you guys are looking for information. So, one of the questions was just before was how long are the storms going to last? I want to go backwards. We got to zoom out. We got to look at the whole aspect. We got to look at the whole the whole region so we can see what's going on. We had some thunderstorms up here that were rolling through. Those have all faded away and the stuff off towards like Missouri that has all faded away as well. But I've been talking about how this is trying to connect between it. There's still this front in here. This is rolling through early early. So that's great news. That's going to eat a lot of the fuel right in the wake of it though. It's not going to eliminate all the fuel. There's still some thunder back here. There's still some activity here. There's still the front back here. The front's not here until like this evening. So, until that front pushes through, we're going to have to deal with some of these thunderstorms. It'll come at us in waves of heavy rain. I think that's going to be kind of our concern. Yeah, Mike. Uh, for sure. Get the smoke out of here.

[00:12:48]Awful. I got a futurecast now. This I'm going to show you, but let's take it with a grain of salt because it's been back and forth. It's been I haven't seen this latest update here, the 8:00 update because we were on the stream, but but we're going to look at it. Chris, that's Yeah. Uh same same, dude. That's exactly what uh we're talking about. I do I do think we still have some strong storms later on today. Just I'll get to that in a second, but this is going to limit big time. I'll drag this through here.

[00:13:24]There. So, a lot of the a lot of the stuff a lot of the models earlier this morning were showing this line not even here until about 10 o'clock, which would have allowed us to heat things up getting closer to like upper 70s and low 80s, which would allowed some more fuel for this. So, because it's coming through and we're near 70, there's way less fuel. So, what Christopher is saying there, he's right. He's absolutely right. It's going to limit it, not eliminate, but it will limit what we have going on. And it's just so messy. It's it's like dirty convection, if that makes sense. It's not real organized. And because the front's still back there, this still fills in. This limits the severe threat, the hail, the tornado, and the wind threat, but it kind of elevates our flood threat with these downpours. And if they get hit, if you get hit with the same areas over and over, there's no See, this is what what I was trying to mention. Also, the farther south where you're not getting the heaviest stuff right now, that's what we still got to keep an eye on for later on today. Even though there's there's several rounds of rain around, some of these areas that that do get enough fuel, enough, you know, destabilizing could still have some strength with them.

[00:14:35]The models are still trying to hold on to that. Uh, we should get back. There we go. We should jump back up after the rain gets out of here this afternoon and evening for the commute. I think we get back into the low 80s. I don't know if we can squeeze out 85. This this model's been showing it all day long. Let me go back just a little bit more. 84 85 6 o'clock 6 7 o'clock. That's that's for Cleveland. That's that's a lot of heat.

[00:14:58]And if if we are in the mid 80s when the front sags in when it drops in this evening, then yeah, you bet. There's still going to be some strength with that. I don't know that we can get back to 85, probably low 80s is totally doable, but we'll have to see. We'll have to watch it. There's that front coming in the back side of it right there.

[00:15:22]So, I would plan on on on on waves of rain, waves of thunderstorms now through essentially through probably eight or nine, maybe 10:00. Uh Shel, what about the wind? There's not a lot of wind. It's it's gusty this morning.

[00:15:35]There's some there's some of that southwest wind that's still kind of cranking at about 15 or 20, but it's not necessarily um it's not necessarily like thunderstorm damage type wind. There's nothing like that with this. The gusts are like to 40 or 45 embedded in this heavy rain.

[00:16:04]show you where. Man, that is some heavy rain. Uh, Madina County, Loi, Grafton to Loi through like the Oberlin area. You got Brunswick in there. That's some heavy rain coming in. Anytime we're showing you reds on the radar, that's big stuff. All right, we're one minute out from our cut in real quick.

[00:16:23]Uh, I'm gonna have to be quiet for that because Caitlyn is going to be doing traffic. If you want to watch her with her traffic update, she's going to be going over all the rain as well, what it's doing to the streets. It's probably slowing things down, right? Caitlyn's going to talk about that. Then she's going to toss into me and then we can talk about uh talk about the forecast.

[00:17:16]Um, I think we're going to have some time to destabilize on the backside, it would allow more storms to develop.

[00:18:26]Yeah, thanks a lot, Caitlyn. You're driving in it right now. Heavy rain, low visibility, ponding on the roads like you're talking about. Big concerns. Look at this heavy rain. Now, the wind is only gusting, I say only, uh underneath severe criteria, only gusting to about 40, maybe 45. So, this is a big time rain. a whole lot of lightning kind of a a line that's rolling through. It's going to limit how much severe weather we can get later on today, but it's not going to eliminate. It's not going to just get rid of our threat. As this rolls through this morning, and by around midday, it should start to slide out of here. We're going to notice some more development on the back side of it.

[00:19:02]You can see that we'll start to see some more storms trying to fill in. If you're in our southern counties, I still expect some big energy and the potential for some big storms. Some spots won't make it back to 70. It's going to be a much cooler Wednesday. And then we've got 70s coming back uh for a while. 80s come back this weekend. Let me move that out of the way so you can see Monday still going to be some some 80s. But uh today's the biggest biggest storm threat.

We could absolutely get thunderstorms to develop along that front. Uh, probably won't be as early as six. That front looks like it's sagging behind a little bit. So, I wouldn't be surprised if we still get some storms like eight or nine. Had some questions about the Guardians.

[00:21:21]I think you're fine. I do I do expect to still have some rain around. That front doesn't cross doesn't doesn't slide doesn't sink south through the area until probably 7 to 10. You're going to have a burst of some rain, but then it cools off quickly afterwards. Humidity drops and I think it's going to be all right. Um, yes, it will be wet, but it's not going to be it should dry out.

[00:21:48]Uh, New Philly today. Emma, Emma, um, you're far enough south to where this this morning heavy rain isn't really messing with your atmosphere.

[00:22:02]You do have some showers coming for sure, but as far as like New Philly is concerned, I think that's where you have your best likelihood for some uh for some strong storms. See how this activity works. Look at this. Let me let me take this comment off so we can see the whole thing.

[00:22:21]This is Columbus, right? Columbus. Heavy rain rolling through, pushing into Columbus. See how it splits a little bit?

[00:22:30]energy used. Energy used. There's a break in here. You'll see this try to follow right in there. That's still going to have some fuel. It's still going to have some energy. So, it's things like that that are going to be um going to be something that we watch.

[00:22:45]Oh, man. Here's a question. Uh a any vehicle damaging hail with these storms? That's like one inch or larger.

[00:22:55]One inch size hail is like the minimum for like damage. I guess I've depends on your car. My truck has been dented from smaller than one inch damage, but aluminum anyway. Uh so about one inch. I don't see that. I don't see that with this activity. There's no hail with it.

[00:23:12]It's just heavy rain and lightning. Uh we might get some hail with the stronger storms that have the potential to pop up later on this afternoon.

[00:23:28]It's It's all I mean, here's your heavy rain. This is Watch this. Watch what happens with these storms this afternoon. Yes, you're going to have some heavy rain rolling through, but it's that you see those. Let me see if I can rewind this for you.

[00:23:46]There we go. Models have been hinting at this for a couple of days now. So if you're looking for like vehicle damaging hail, you want to look for those brighter colors like that in the reflectivity. That's this is just a model of course with the model's hinting at the potential for some large hail embedded in these thunderstorms like that guy right there. The once you get into the afternoon, the farther south you are, you've got the potential.

[00:24:20]It should be dropping with that north wind taking over. So, that's the good news. But, it's still going to be wet.

[00:24:26]It's still going to be muggy because things are going to be wet and you're still breathing it in.

[00:24:48]on my grandpa. So, when you're 14 years old and you know this much about the weather, that's great, dude. Keep it up.

[00:25:48]Um, so here's the latest her. This is kind of what I'm on. HR RR.

[00:25:52]Um, this we're talking about. Uh, Jacob's talking about weather models.

[00:25:56]And these weather models tend to struggle with initialization. If they don't know what's going on right now, you can't really trust them with what's going on later. This one's actually doing all right. So, showing that a minimum like like a minimal severe weather threat through midday, but heavy rain. So no damage from wind or hail or anything like that, but there's still lightning. So trees could come down. So lightning and heavy rain our biggest concern through midday. Getting into the afternoon works in a little more uh a little more of the dynamics, a little more of the heat. So yeah. So wanted to ask because the models are not showing as this much time after this line.

[00:26:31]They're not going to because this is going to eat up a lot of the fuel. If we can get enough destabilizing or get enough energy to come back after you dry out this afternoon, low 80s aren't enough. Really shouldn't be enough. But if we can squeeze out like what this model showing, mid80s, that's enough heat for when this front tries to drop in here. Could be enough for some more severe weather later on today.

[00:26:59]It just keeps wanting to to disturb it.

[00:27:02]This out ahead will eat the fuel even if we see enough for that front. That front's not just going to be colliding into like untouched air is the is what I'm getting at. So the atmosphere stays worked over.

[00:27:13]So that limits our severe threat. Can I show when it stops? Yeah. Um Jessica Jessica Johnson, you ready for this?

[00:27:27]As far as this one goes out to 11 o'clock, there's the front. After that front sinks south, only an isolated couple showers tomorrow, we're good.

[00:27:39]So, the heavy rain, when will the heavy rain stop? If that's what you're what you're referring to, it depends on where you are. And it should be relatively soon.

[00:27:48]Here's this heavy rain right now. It's just light stuff on the back side of it.

[00:27:54]The rain already has light rain. They had some heavier stuff earlier. Uh Avon, Avon Lake, West Lake, Bay, Rocky, Lakewood, all the way to Cleveland.

[00:28:03]That's where things are, yeah, wet for sure, but the heavy rain has settled down and the lightning is settling down.

[00:28:08]The thunder is quieting down. East side though, heading into Giaga County.

[00:28:12]Here's Solen all the way through uh I mean Shardan, Huntsburg, Parkman, you get into Ashtabula County, I'm talking about some some heavy rain and a lot of lightning with it as well. So that's where it's all heading.

[00:28:25]After that, things should settle down a bit.

[00:30:34]Absolutely right. So, he's talking about the cap. Thunderstorms want to build vertically. You want heat, you want humidity, you want it all to go up.

[00:30:44]Well, the energy, the available potential energy, convective available potential potential energy is cape, right? Surfacebased cape. You want that to be elevated so you can get the thunderstorms. The sin is a cap. It limits it. There'll be like a cool layer. Cool air wants to sink on top of that rising air. And if that cap is too strong, like if you put a lid on boiling water, it'll hold it all in until you can break through that cap. and then it can build up. So, all this rain is developing a cap is what Jacob's talking about. So, yeah, definitely going to uh gonna limit our severe threat.

[00:31:26]So, possibly severe weather in Wayne County after 12 then. It's possible, man. We got to see how much rain you get this morning. These showers, it it it really eats it develops that cap. So, we're talking about the potential for severe weather. You got to have some time to destabilize, erode that cap, build that more energy. Um, the potential is there. I'm going to be real with you. I still think we're going to have some strong storms the farther south you are.

[00:34:40]Inland though, we're starting to see some heavier stuff. Right. This is through noon. Once we get beyond noon, there's not a lot back here, but watch how it fills in.

[00:34:54]If there's enough time in between one round and the next round to get temperatures to jump up close to 80 degrees, then yes, I wouldn't be surprised if we had some strong storms and some severe weather threat. Where it's going to stay a little a little less likely for that to happen is is farther north. So, if you've got plans, man, look how strong those storms get.

[00:35:17]Look at that line developing.

[00:35:20]That's so early in the day, though, you know? So the farther south, yes, this is where your bullseye for severe weather is across like the Ohio River Valley all the way up, you know, like the Alagany up toward like Pittsburgh. You've got some some big energy. It's a big energy where the morning rain isn't quite hanging around just yet.

[00:35:40]The front, look at this. It's still up there. Look at six o'clock mid 80s Cleveland that western waterfront all the way back off towards the islands. Meanwhile, where you've just dried out, it's upper 70s. So, a little bit cooler. The problem is when this front tries to sink south, it's going to collide. I don't know that we can see mid 80s. That's the big recovery. But I do expect, look at these thunderstorms just develop out ahead of it. Out ahead of the front.

[00:36:10]There's your front. That's going to be what sinks south. That's going to drop us all into the 60s tonight.

[00:36:19]But basically, I would expect thunderstorms from now off and on through like 10 o'clock tonight. There's that front that finally sinks south. Are you going to get enough time to run a 5K? Sure. I'm sure. Is it going to be delayed a little bit? Is it going to be a bit wet? Probably. It could easily get, you know, they might, depending on the lightning, delay it just a little bit, but a 30 minute delay, you can still get out there and run that 5K.

[00:36:48]more like 30 for me. But yeah, that's our forecast. Same thing for the guards tonight.

It could if we hit 85, remember that's that's talking about if we can destabilize enough, we can get a whole lot of energy out there. Um if we don't if we stay cloudy or if if we don't see 85 degrees, then that's really going to limit much of that.

[00:38:12]Um, Shaker Heights. What about the the Shaker Heights, Warrenville Heights area between 9 and noon? I would plan on wet.

[00:38:20]I mean, there's no way. There's not going to be a whole lot of dry time.

[00:38:25]I mean, nine o'clock is in 10 minutes here. It's not going to dry out that quickly.

[00:38:45]This is a little little something that I've been doing since college. If you want to know when that back line's going to reach you, you go over the last hour because it's pretty consistent to uh to where it is now.

[00:39:17]We'll estimate that down to like 60 miles an hour or 50 miles per hour clearing out because that's very fast.

[00:39:39]Oberlin 850 uh Westlake just before 9:00 the rain should shut down right at around 9:00 all the way through Rocky River, Grafton, Lakewood, Hartland right at about 9:00.

[00:39:54]So, it's lighter already in a lot of those areas, but it should settle down uh right around 9:00.

[00:40:07]Um, Cara's asking about the high winds in the forecast for Tusk. Yes. Uh, the potential's there. I mean, I think it's later on this afternoon. It's It's still there.

[00:40:21]So, the atmosphere is not really getting worked over. Yes, you'll have some showers and that will eat a lot of that, but as far as eliminating the severe threat for later on today, I'm just not just not likely going to happen. It it's it's going to limit it for sure, but there's still the threat for some strong storms. This is a strong cold front. I mean, I've got I mean, temps right now before the front rolls through, after this rain clears out of here, are going to jump back into the 80s quickly. There's a lot of warmth out there in the atmosphere. There's a lot of fuel, a lot of energy. Uh tomorrow some spots might not make it out of the 60s.

[00:41:02]Might bring back a little bit of smoke also. It's coming from the north, but the rain up there has has really helped has really helped limit how much smoke is up there in our sky. So, it's just not as much as there was. There's a lot that has to go right to get us a bunch of smoke or a lot that has to go wrong.

[00:48:32]I still think we're going to get in on the potential for some severe weather later on this afternoon, but as this rain continues to slide through quickly, it's going to kind of work our atmosphere over a bit into the afternoon. We're still going to have storms kind of building on the back side of it. So that flood threat will be elevated. But there's your severe weather threat afternoon before about 4:00 south of Route 30. Next few days we dry it out, cool it off, and it gets nice.

I don't know that everybody gets that much warmth or it's that much widespread warmth. So, I do think that this limits our severe threat which is you're exactly right. You're exactly right. You want this stuff, man.

[00:52:42]So, all right. I'm getting some uh I'm getting some questions about the tornado threat. Let me get down to uh to our futurecast here and we'll show you what it is. And if you're into weather, if you know what I'm talking about, this is just going to be the latest her because it's the only one that's actually been showing HRR.

[00:52:58]It's the only one that's been showing what's going on now. It's the only one that's been initializing relatively well. We've got a couple other models we can we can show. This is one of our in-house models that just just it's just been so aggressive with all this stuff. I'm not.

[00:53:19]It's just been so aggressive.

[00:53:23]I don't I don't even want to look at it anymore. It's not It's It's not doing well.

[00:53:31]Here we go.

[00:53:34]Elaborate on the south of Route 30 tornado threat. So, what happens is after we get through this morning, here's midday. I'll zoom out so we can see. see how much um how much activity, how much much clutter there is back here. It's just round after round, light rain, no rain, heavy rain, light rain, no rain, back and forth. So, that's going to pretty much get rid of any threat through midday for wind to really get too strong, any of these storms to grow too much. It's definitely going to elimmit any tornado or hail threat just because the atmosphere, it's just using fuel. It only has so much fuel to to to fuel these storms, right? heat and humidity. The farther south you are, you're gonna get a little bit of a push.

[00:54:20]Let me go a little bit farther.

[00:54:24]This is where you have the threat. Um, you see how these these storms before there's a couple questions in here talking about a squall line. Before you develop into that squall line, you have to have individual storms building right in the heat, in the humidity. And I do expect this is going to be something.

[00:54:42]This is going to be kind of like the curveball. This could take away a lot of the fuel. We'll have to watch that just right after around lunchtime. But these individual storms, if they develop, they will likely be supercells and likely be spinning. If that happens, I'm talking about spinning before they form into a large squall line, which would give us the the damaging straight line wind threat before they develop into that. a tornado is possible. So, that's the that's the tornado threat. And I say south of Route 30 because here's here's Route 30. Here's my monitor's so far away. It's around here, right? So, this is basically like Worcester over to Canton and south. This is where you kind of have the the we'll have to see if it can destabilize enough kind of mentality. I don't expect it to be a bunch. I do expect them to uh to be strong though.

[00:55:47]So with that happening, with this initial wave right here developing into a line of thunderstorms, a squall line, then we're going to shift the focus from tornatic to straight line winds. Now embedded in that, you can get, you know, brief EF zeros and ones, but again, that's southern Ohio. That's south of that's well south of our viewing area.

[00:56:11]Stuff like this. See how it kind of bows out like that? That's this model trying to talk about bow echoes. Meaning you've got these storms that just get pushed outwards and it it looks like a like a bow, like a backwards little like a backwards sea. You get some big time wind with that.

[00:56:35]let up for a bit, then the intense rain again in Geneva. Yeah.

[00:56:46]And then it's going to let up. And then you're going to get some more intense rain. And then it's going to let up.

[00:56:50]Then you're going to get some more intense rain. Here's here's what we're talking about. It let up when that rolled through. Intense rain. It's going to let up. Another round of intense rain rolling through. I got a good buddy who's vacationing in Geneva right now.

The severe threat's low, but the strong storms that that that threat is still going to be there even in Cleveland uh through about sunset, 8 n o'clock, it's possible if we can recover.

You're getting that the heaviest rain is is pulling out, but there's still quite a bit of lightning up over the lake. I would give it probably 30 minutes and then you'll have a better shot to get out a little bit drier, a little bit calmer because this activity should stay to the north. This right here should, you know, should should hang out north. Once this next little little cluster of heavy rain rolls through, then you you've got some time.

[01:03:09]It might fill in, but at least you've got some time depending on how long you're going to go walk your dog.

[01:04:34]That's that line I was just showing you trying to get off to that that Pennsylvania state line. There's some redevelopment behind it. And that's the story with today. And that's why the models have been all over the place. You get tired of hearing some folks say, "It's this time, it's that time, it's this time, it's that time." It's because the models, none of them are agreeing because they don't know what's going on.

[01:04:53]So, you just kind of have to go with experience essentially and figure out and it's kind of wait and see when these storms are going to pop up and you try to forecast it to a tea. That's how you start getting in trouble. But more development behind it. Likely going to get more development. There's so much with this like dirty convection.

[01:05:12]Essentially, it's dirty. The radar just is going to look like a mess throughout the day. We're going to have waves that form, rain themselves out, some hold together. So, I would plan on that initial wave and then some dry time, redevelopment, another hour or so of some pretty heavy rainfall and then clearing out. And depending on how much time you can get in between those rounds is going to be how strong each round is.

[01:05:40]That's you have to dry it out, clear it out if you can heat things up, and that's going to give us the fuel. So, here's noon, second line, second line of the day trying to roll through. I don't know if you were looking closely, you saw some you saw some some brighter colors in there, right?

[01:05:58]some brighter colors. The potential is going to be there. That's not going to be a widespread thing. The potential for some of these storms to get strong enough to give us quick quick bursts of some of some uh some wind. Maybe some hail, it's there. It's it's possible through the afternoon, but because there's so many rounds, it's pretty limited.

[01:06:24]All right, there's one o'clock. That midday wave trying to pull on out of here. What do you think's going to happen back here?

[01:06:37]Watch it. See how much time is passing in this model, allowing us to get temperatures back up into those low 80s.

[01:09:04]The cooler air. There's another kind of secondary wave of cool air that's back here. So, this is what those models are hinting at. This rolling through. You get this break that rotates through as well. And then there's that final edge, that final line of some thunder that's going to try to roll in this evening.

[01:09:50]It's up over the lake. Heavy rains up over the lake. So, you're going to get some time to dry things out, which is great. You don't want too much time to dry it out because you don't want to get too unstable, too warm before this next line rolls through.

[01:10:05]Is Canton getting a tornado, etc. um like a tornado and other severe weather or like the Canton area and surrounding areas with this many rounds of thunder. It's not likely, but Route 30 and south, I think once you get closer to that I7 corridor, that's where that threat's going to be a little elevated because we're going to watch this line try to develop into uh try to redevelop into something pretty uh pretty spicy.

[01:10:55]Just looks cloudy and gray, huh?

[01:10:58]The heaviest rain has been north. This first push has been north.

[01:11:04]Aan's still getting some pretty good stuff.

[01:11:09]Look at that clearing or at least thinning back here looking toward the rain toward the back side of the rain. One little drop on the lens.

[01:11:26]But you I mean we saw visibility was down way down when that was rolling through. Now it's improving. Here's another look. This is from our back parking lot. We got a big silo on the top of that silo which just put another lens on the top so it's clean. So it's cleared off. You can see pretty good.

[01:11:43]Got to thank Terry, our building uh manager fixer. Uh climbed up the top of that silo. Was that 100 feet up and fixed that up. Good stuff. Um so yeah, now we can see pretty clear. Pretty clear. We're seeing lots of clouds out there.

[01:12:05]All right, Port Clinton looks so much better. Still gusty. Still gusty. Oh yeah, the wind. That's what I wanted to show you. Still pretty gusty. I've got the wind that's uh it's out of the southwest gusting to about 30. Sandusky's getting almost 40. Man, it's Port Clinton almost 40 mile per hour gust. That's why those trees are shaking around so much. 40 in Madina, 30. Pretty windy. Pretty windy on the back side of this. And that's why we have that threat for strong storms is that southwest wind is actually going to um fuel bring up heat and humidity and fuel.

[01:12:51]Just another summer thunderstorm. Yeah, that's how this one was, Don. Uh rolling through this morning.

[01:13:06]How does a micro burst differ from a tornado in a supercell?

[01:13:12]Kyle, I was in uh Silver Lake or right around near the Silver Lake Stow area on Saturday when that micro burst came through and there were a lot of folks. I was talking to a family um and they were talking about had to be a tornado, right? twisting these trees and everything off the the tops.

[01:13:33]Well, with a tornado, yes, you'll get that really localized, violent rotating column, right? That's a rotating column of air. Damage is scattered all directions. Touch down, lifts up, touch down, lifts up. With a micro burst, these thunderstorms, they're building upwards. We've been talking about heat, right? Well, once they build upwards too much, they can collapse on themselves.

[01:13:57]And that wind, the downdraft of that can can spread out. If you were to look straight down on micro burst, you could see if it the storm wasn't really going anywhere, you could see it just everything comes out from like a center portion. Everything would be going outwards. Well, with this one, it was kind of out and forward. So, with the one in like from uh Stow, Monroe Falls, Kyhoga Falls, um Silver Lake area, it was it was just straight line winds essentially. It was miles wide and miles long. So, a little more spread out, a little less intense, a little less uh damaging, but can still do damage.

[01:14:38]So, the difference looking after the fact would be how widespread it is and the direction of uh of the damage.

[01:14:50]Cool, man. Is it settling down or what?

[01:14:52]That's good stuff. You still got that one big storm up over the lake. It's talking about that one that was rolling through that has had that wind. Look at it just just building.

[01:15:09]Look at that thing getting out off of land over the lake.

[01:15:13]So the lake, this is interesting. a cold front will will will dive in underneath that warm moist air and lift it up.

[01:15:22]Well, if you've got a relatively colder lake here, you've got some warmth, you've got it rolling through, it's actually going to, as our temperatures on land warm up, as stuff rolls over that lake, it'll act like a ramp and it'll lift it up. And that's kind of what's happening there. Look at it just building up over the lake. Interesting stuff.

You you get it. you I mean you're you're thinking of weather as a as a 3D kind of a column of air as a as a 3D element not just you know pictures on a screen that's awesome so to lake as is it act like an outflow boundary yeah you get those little uh like it's called a lake breeze that on its own can be like a little mini coldront and can spark up storms so yeah it just it can it depends on the direction of the flow as far as it follows it can either u kind of if the storm's going perpendicular to it then it can hit it and kind blow up like that one's doing right there. So, it gets over the leg and just or if it's going parallel, it can ride that ride that boundary. And sometimes that'll give it a little bit of spin. We see that a lot.

[01:17:12]We see that a lot. Thunderstorms will will ride along the lake breeze and spin.

[01:17:24]Uh Kyle, it's clearing out, man. It looks like it's clearing out. I can show you. Let's see here. He's asking about the cloud cover behind this batch of rain. It should clear out.

[01:17:53]Whoa. Why is this not showing up?

[01:17:59]I guess we'll show you this.

[01:18:07]Not really good resolution, not very clear, but we can see kind of tells the story. There's the cloud cover getting out of there. Um there is that next little wave that the the models were showing trying to develop as that pulls out right on the heels of it trying to and there's your there's your dry time for a few hours before the front rolls in.

[01:18:30]So that's what we're looking at.

[01:18:40]Um, it depends on the SPC. Yeah, 5% tornado threat. That's pretty low, right? It's it's up there. It means it's there, right? But because of all of this activity, I think it's limited.

[01:18:53]Depending on where you are, northeast Ohio, um, the farther south you are, yeah, there's still the threat for it.

[01:19:00]There's still the potential for it. And do I think it's unlikely for areas north of Route 30? Yes. Still possible, but it's not it's not real likely.
