#32 Things that have helped me make progress on guitar #guitar #crazytrain #guitarlesson #fypAdded:
How's everybody doing? This is number 32 in the things that have helped me make progress on guitar. Today we're going to look at the triads on the D, G, and B string.
>> [music] >> We're going to be doing A major on tune standard today. The notes in A major are A major triad or A, C sharp, and E. So, if it's in root position, that means the A note is in the in the bottom of the lowest note. So, the first one is A, C sharp, and E.
>> [music] >> It's kind of like part of this big major major bar chord.
So, the shape is that kind of diagonal.
And then just a minute I'm going to show you a very famous song that uses these inversions that most people have heard.
So, you have this A, C [music] sharp, and E. The next inversion is putting the third in the bass, which is the C sharp.
So, you have C sharp, E, and A, which is this shape.
So, this is root position.
This is first inversion.
And then the other one is second inversion, which has the fifth in the bass, which is note is E.
This is E, A, and C sharp.
Kind of like this one as well, same thing.
>> [music] >> So, this is one shape, this is the other, and this is the third.
This is called root position, first inversion, and second inversion.
>> [music] [music] >> All right, so that was of course Crazy Train, the rhythm part when it goes to a more of a major sounding key. The beginning was like F sharp minor.
But when it goes to the it goes to this, >> [music] >> the very first chord I just talked about.
But then it does an E in first inversion, but it's the same shape as this one that I just mentioned.
But it's right here.
Then you just move that down two frets.
That becomes a D major.
And then finally it this.
One cool thing too is that lick at the end that I think super cool kind of starts on the end of the beat and it's pulling off.
>> [music] >> So anyway, it's basically A major in root position.
>> [music] >> Then E major, D major and A.
So basically it's A, E, D, A.
But you know, Randy Rhoads, the late great Randy Rhoads was a he was real versed in music theory and classical guitar and he used these inversions.
>> [music] >> So check that out and hope you learn something.
